I wish I could find the words to fully express how wonderful Spooner Veterinary Hospital is. From…read morethe wonderful Julie (and others) who answer the phone and booked my appointments, the highly educated and skilled Veterinary Technicians to the Veterinarians themselves, you will never find a more compassionate, kind, supportive and caring staff. I brought my best friend Yeti in, my beloved German Shepherd, to be checked because of a few concerns that came up quickly, never in a million years expecting to find out he had cancer throughout his body and a very short time to live. Needless to say, I was devastated. From that first appointment to 4 days later when I had to say goodbye to him, the loving support and comfort the entire staff showed both me and Yeti truly made a difference to us and it's something I will NEVER forget. I am switching my other animals to Spooner Veterinary Hospital as well. I wouldn't even think about bringing them anywhere else, now. If you love your animals as deeply as I do, you will want to bring them here for care. They are absolutely WONDERFUL!

We called the vet nearest us in Danbury and they would not work us in to their schedule. We called Spooner and they told us to come and they would work us in. When we arrived we were greeted with friendly smiles. They put us in a room where our Golden could be examined by the vet and his assistant. They determined that they needed to take the whole nail put and said it would take about 45 minutes. It took exactly that. Everything went well and our Golden's urgent situation was resolved. We really appreciate the prompt and professional attention we received. We aren't a regular patient because we live in Illinois, but they reacted to our need for help and we are so grateful!!!

He had some type of growth which looked more like a Keloids. It needed to be removed and they were amazing. From the front of the house people like Nalea helped us get my buddy into the office. Right at 0800 in the morning from Maplewood to Forest Lake. These people care and they are just like family. The office is super clean. The property is immaculate I thought Jesus was going to pop out of this slice of heaven. The grounds are free of poo and trash. The inner rooms when your seated working with the doctors and staff in back are really relaxing especially on the hard days when your little buddies are with you. Could use some cushions for people like me without asses man they get sore after a while. I told them of how tight my budget was because we just had a sewer line break which cost us around 10,000 in cash because our property was paid for. So its not like we could add it to a mortgage. They actually saved me 100 dollars which right now being disabled. Was so freaking cool. I can not thank them enough for everything. They will have my gratitude for a long long long time. Matter of fact my step mother has moved her little buddy Blue and my step sisters cat Gracie over to the Vet's office. They just do not know I got them the business until today. When my girl Ruby left us a couple years ago they were so amazing that we had to keep Russell going there. Even thought it breaks our hearts to walk by the room Ruby last was they are amazing Vets. Also Some of the staff there are former Military Service members. Who would not want to support our Vets along with the Vets Huh like the word play... Nalea tell that person I said How yeah doing Huh? Now the Staff they are so friendly and make your pet go with them at ease. Russell does not like to leave our side but He enjoys spending time with all the ladies in the back getting belly rubs He told me. In short they saved him from pain and agony. They worked him in within less then a week for the operation. They worked with my budget due to life's events. They did not drug my buddy up and he seems to be doing amazing. He had been happy and giving kisses more then ever.

It was wonderful to have a vet that took a holistic approach and stood up for the cat feelings and best interests. She also recommended chiropractic care for one of our rescue cats and it was exactly what she needed to get her active and happy again. We moved to FL a couple of years ago and we still miss Dr. Sue very much.

The VetTech when giving our cat IV fluids didn't want to wait the 15 minutes or so that it takes, so she squeezed the bag so it would empty quicker, bragging about how she does this on house calls so she can get in and out quicker. The vet gave us 3 options about medication, then left the room. I informed the VetTech which option I wanted. She overruled me and told me which one I was going to do - the $5,000 laser surgery on her thyroid. When I informed the vet I wanted medication, the VetTech continued to argue with me, even telling me which type of medication I was going to use for both the bladder infection and the hyperthyroidism, pill vs liquid. A year earlier we had brought our 17-year-old cat in for grooming. This VetTech had continued to shave her even though she was screaming. She even handed off the task to a new hire with no experience so she could train her while my cat was having a total meltdown. So on our last visit, I informed Dr. Sue that I didn't want this VetTech grooming our cat. Apparently, the VetTech either heard my comment or Dr. Sue mentioned it to her, because when I called to set up a follow-up appointment for our 13-year-old, over several days no one answered the phone with the call going to voice mail, and no one ever called us back, effectively leaving our cat to go cold-turkey off her thyroid medication. During the several years we've used this clinic, the VetTech has routinely run down the vets working there, stating that she has to keep an eye on them to make sure they're doing things correctly. I highly recommend using another vet where the Veterinarians are in charge instead of blinding trusting an out-of-control VetTech who does whatever she wants with impunity.
