Won't help in an emergency. Couldn't care less about an animal in destress, or if it died. Just wanted paid. Good job making kids cry.

From…read morethe wonderful Julie (and others) who answer the phone and booked my appointments, the highly educated and skilled Veterinary Technicians to the Veterinarians themselves, you will never find a more compassionate, kind, supportive and caring staff. I brought my best friend Yeti in, my beloved German Shepherd, to be checked because of a few concerns that came up quickly, never in a million years expecting to find out he had cancer throughout his body and a very short time to live. Needless to say, I was devastated. From that first appointment to 4 days later when I had to say goodbye to him, the loving support and comfort the entire staff showed both me and Yeti truly made a difference to us and it's something I will NEVER forget. I am switching my other animals to Spooner Veterinary Hospital as well. I wouldn't even think about bringing them anywhere else, now. If you love your animals as deeply as I do, you will want to bring them here for care. They are absolutely WONDERFUL!

We called the vet nearest us in Danbury and they would not work us in to their schedule. We called Spooner and they told us to come and they would work us in. When we arrived we were greeted with friendly smiles. They put us in a room where our Golden could be examined by the vet and his assistant. They determined that they needed to take the whole nail put and said it would take about 45 minutes. It took exactly that. Everything went well and our Golden's urgent situation was resolved. We really appreciate the prompt and professional attention we received. We aren't a regular patient because we live in Illinois, but they reacted to our need for help and we are so grateful!!!

I've thought about it for several days because I don't like criticizing people, but the more I replay the appointment in my head, the more it honestly upsets me. We were discussing my dog's ear infection when, completely out of nowhere, the current veterinarian asked if I had broken my bulldog's tail. My dog's tail has been bent since he was a puppy--it's a congenital deformity that's fairly common in bulldogs. I honestly just sat there thinking, "Yeah... I accidentally stepped on it one day?" It was such a bizarre question that it completely caught me off guard. If you're trying to understand a medical issue, why not simply ask what happened to his tail instead? The whole interaction made me uncomfortable. I also couldn't help but notice she smiled through the entire conversation. Maybe that's just her personality, but I've honestly never met someone who smiled that much during a conversation like that. It made the whole appointment feel even more awkward. More than anything, the interaction made me lose confidence. It left me wondering what other conclusions might be jumped to in future appointments, and that isn't how I want to feel when someone is caring for my dogs. The veterinary assistants are still incredible. They are gentle, compassionate, and one of the main reasons we stayed with this clinic for so many years. We even drove nearly two hours when we lived in Minnesota because we trusted this clinic. My concerns are specifically with my experience with the current veterinarian. This isn't the first bad experience I had here. It's just the one that broke the tipping point.

They made me call an 800 poison control number that charged me $89 up front to tell me this was a potentially lethal dose (which google already told me) and gave me a case number for them to call and get instructions for care. they came back with a suggestion of 48hrs of fluids and monitoring to the tune of $4800. I about died and told them I'll take her to my regular vet now that theres nothing to do but monitor and fluids. When I called the local vet, they followed up with the same 800 poison control and were told they recommended outpatient monitoring with fluids and meds. Not 48hrs in patient. They quoted $300-$400. I was charged $150 for absolutely nothing and another $89 for them to have an online vet decide what to do and then choose to do differently to make the maximum potential money? If you're looking for a place with all the fancy gadgets and wanting you to max out your credit cards without actually applying medical knowledge or care for YOUR well being, This is the place for you!

The staff and veterinarians always allow me to be involved in my dogs' care; whether that means letting me handle my own dogs during exams, talking through treatment plans in detail, or supporting my decision to consult a specialist when needed. I never feel dismissed or rushed, and I genuinely feel respected and valued, which means so much as a dedicated dog owner. They are also incredibly patient and supportive when it comes to all of the health testing I do with my dogs. From jumping through the extra hoops to get my SV X-rays submitted, to helping coordinate and complete other required health testing, they have always been wonderful and accommodating. It makes a huge difference to have a clinic that understands and supports the extra steps that come with responsible breeding and competitive dog sports. They have taken care of us through everything from routine visits, to emergencies, and even an emergency surgery, and we are always treated with the same compassion, respect, and professionalism every single time. From the very first visit to the most serious situations, the level of care and communication has been consistently outstanding. I'm incredibly grateful to have a clinic I trust completely with my dogs!

Kept asking her why she hasn't done certain things, and my wife kept telling her that we had him on a puppy plan at East Central and they took care of everything for us. Then they told us our dog needed antibiotics, and diet changes to counter his weight gain, and sluggish behavior. We were so unhappy with how my wife was treated we went to East Central for another opinion, and they tested our dog for low Thyroid. Wouldn't you know it, 30$ of thyroid meds and he's slimmed down, has tons of energy and his coat is shinier and softer. Would never go back to Osceola Vet.
