We initially missed our first appt back in Dec '25 so I made sure that we made this spring appt! Dr M was so patient and friendly with my mom and we both really liked her! With my mom being elderly, Dr M took her time and made sure that my mom really understood every part of the exam and was clear and concise. My mom's prescript hadn't really changed so she was not going to write a new precription to save my mom money, but my mom wanted a new prescription so she could get some new eyeglasses and Dr M fine tuned it! She also recommended buying her new glasses at Walmart as they would be cheaper. The only improvement I would say is our appt was scheduled at 9:30am and mom was not seen until almost 10am. We didn't have any other appts that morning so that was not an issue, but if we had, it might have posed an issue. Offices are also very old and I even went to my reg MD there as a kid back in the day, so they are in desperate need of a remodel or razing and starting from scratch.

When I received the glasses, I was shocked to find they were much thicker than a pair I bought elsewhere with the same diopters--without paying any extra fees. 2. After my first exam, I needed a second one due to medical reasons, this time with Dr. Lisa Shin. She noted my prescription had changed but failed to update my CYL and Axis measurements. As a result, she prescribed glasses with the wrong parameters. When I received them, rectangular screens appeared trapezoid-shaped. I returned to her, but instead of checking her own mistake, she blamed it on my eyes "changing a lot." I asked her to check the glasses I was wearing to see what was wrong. Only the next day did she send me a new prescription with corrected values based on my old glasses. When I asked her to remake the glasses based on her own correction, she demanded that I pay again. I refused, since it was clearly her oversight. 3. I disputed the charge with my credit card company. Later, her office asked me to pay again for the first exam and return the incorrect glasses so they could refund the full transaction. I paid another $35, trusting they would resolve it. But the credit card company eventually told me the vendor had rejected my dispute, meaning I paid twice and ended up with nothing--not even the wrong pair of glasses. When I pressed the office, they finally sent me a partial refund check, deducting $16 as an "arbitration fee," which they claimed was charged by their bank. In reality, they passed their own cost onto me and again blamed me for disputing the charge. This is not just about money--I can afford the loss. IT'S ABOUT HOW THEY TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS . Dr. Lisa Shin refuses to acknowledge her mistakes, shifts blame onto patients, and looks for ways to charge for even the smallest things. Instead of resolving issues professionally, she makes customers pay for her errors. I would NEVER go back, and I strongly caution others before choosing this place!

On the day of my appointment I received excellent care from the fantastic hygienist and a kind followup exam from the dentist. I would have given them a 5 star review, until later events followed. I later received a bill for the very expensive full amount of services, and much to my relief noticed it had been filed to the wrong insurance company. I called the office and the receptionist was apologetic and assured me she would take care of it. I thought nothing of it. Mistakes happen. A few weeks later I again received a very expensive bill for the full amount and called and was told that they were not providers for my insurance and that she couldn't have checked anyway until the bill was sent out so had just guessed! When I reminded her that she had told me that they were, the receptionist became rather rude and told me it was too bad, but I owed them the full amount. I spoke to the dentist, the business owner, and she said "You received the services and owe us the money." I inquired if they would come to any compromise since they had misled me. Again she repeated, "You received the services and owe us the money." They even tacked on an "account aging current fee" which the receptionist said was for late charges which she would remove (since it had taken time to rectify her mistake of sending the bill to the wrong company then sending it to mine) and the dentist later told me it wasn't late charges it was taxes...(even though the amount does not resemble accurate taxes in our area)...and that they would remove it. At this point I became suspicious. They charged my credit card the full amount including the extra fee which they both had said they would not add on. I am not a wealthy person and this was all a lot of money to me which I will be paying off on my credit card. I left this situation feeling like I had been through a bait and switch scam and the smoothness with which they bilked me might indicate that this is not a unique situation with this office. I also spoke to my insurance company and was told they had heard of offices doing this kind of thing and it was "highly unethical", and that they could have easily called with my insurance info (that I had provided them at the first phone call) and would have learned that I would not be covered for the services. That they did not do this one simple thing indicated their lack of care and ethics. Hard lesson learned in trusting doctors' offices. I am writing this to warn others of this unethical practice.

Second time I've ordered glasses from them. And I'm happy to be back. Their prices are competitive with a nice discount on a second pair. Only issue is that they don't take insurance which seems to be the way almost every optical shop works now.
