I purchased a trimmer (Item# 6049972) back in April but did not use it until today, Big Mistake. I staterted it an the trimmer and I was able to operate it for about 10min and then it stopped working. Have not been able to get it going since then. stihl chainsaws are the worst possible chainsaws you can buy. used mine 1 time and it broke. dealer called and said it was not covered under warranty and it was $400 to fix (the price of a brand new one is $500). do not recommend ever purchasing a Stihl product again. If you do the warranty program is trash and you will be paying out of pocket. I did not get mine repaired at the Stihl dealership, instead I fixed it myself. complete waste and the overall reviews for Stihl products is less than a 3.0 with customers experiencing the same issues as I did. read more

I wish I could give a 3.5. This place has a good selection of less common tools and such that you won't find in your 2 box stores that are in every town, but much of their hand tools are near or at the same quality of harbor freight. (Some identical) except for the label / color. For the average household projects thats fine. This review is mostly on generators. I don't know what factory in PRC makes their Powerhorse generators, but they work. I have 3 of them, only once they have let me down (due to me). During the blackout early this year, my 7000 ran for - 60 hours straight, no problem. My 2200 I loaned my neighbor ran for about - 40 hours straight. The 3500 runs amazing, it ran for 70 hours straight when we went boondocks camping, 100 degrees. 100% of the time we ran the a/c. All of them are safe for sensitive electronics. The 7000 can run our home furnace. Unfortunately I didn't have it wired at the time. That won't happen again. I always take a generator on a long road trip or a tailgate just in case we need it. Northern Tool makes some other solid products. They have a good towing selection. Their prices are competitive. They don't always have the greatest choices but if I need anything generator related they are my #1 choice. read more

I stopped in just prior to closing on a Sunday afternoon. I was needing some materials that tractor supply Lowe's, and Home Depot did not have on hand. Upon walking in the gentleman said aisle one was what I was looking for and sure enough they had plenty of what I needed. I didn't realize they were a Stihl dealer and was on the hunt already for a chainsaw and weedeater. Tim, the associate gassed up the weedeater and chainsaw tested it for me take care of everything. I was out the door in about 20 minutes and I really appreciated the kind service which was unexpected. read more

I miss the posters and T-shirt supply that was about noise, and warning labels. Store is getting a little fancy relative to their old utility/matrix style of organization. Angled aisles, product item placement, billboards and brand grouping seems a little less like the bin and rack store I was used to. My 4yr old grandson loves coming here, and I can afford to build his toolbox slowly as he gets more skilled. Tool Time! This is a nice tool store along 410. The selection here is a bit confusing. They have all the tools you need, along with construction clothing, and stuff for your pickup truck. But then they also sell some toys, sling shots, and electronic fart machines. However, they didn't have the tool I needed. The staff here is incredible! Browsing around, I was asked three times if I needed any help. The staff is great, and always on hand to answer any questions you might have. The store was really clean, and there were enough cashiers to keep the line moving. The prices were a little more than other places around town, but the great staff really makes up for the higher prices. Parking is easy. read more

Just bought MTD push mower and had trouble starting it,I was told by manager that they do not return or exchange gas powered tools.He told me mower needed service and that would cost me $35 to see what the problem was.Then one week later he called back and it needed a new carb.and it had no warranty.The service would cost me $95.I would not buy anything from these cons.Buyers beware these cons are selling defective tools and expecting buyers to pay additional service fees to repair there defective tools. read more

Ok, I went there as I was already in this area. First of it looks like the expensive copy of Harbor Freight. On the 2nd look it is the expensive copy of it. The prices of the stuff is a little on the expensive side, while the shop has a couple of things I can't get in other stores around town. So while I wouldn't buy most tools there, they have a couple of things I can buy in person or would have to order it online. As I never need help when I go shopping, I didn't test the knowledge of the staff there. But two of them we chatting for 30 minutes while only one of them was working. Now you know why they need to be a little more expensive than other stores. read more

Clean most of the time has everything in stock but larger items.Not very expensive Marc W's review is not true they do have expensive tools, but there tools are better quality than "harbor freight". They are also cheaper than craftsman i got a 29 piece impact set for $79 and at sears its $79 for a 23 piece set. And there klutch tools carry a lifetime warranty just like craftsman. Ive had issues with harbor freights socket extensions they will start to flex a lot but since I've got klutch extensions they haven't flexed at all. And there employees aren't any different from any other place. read more

If you ever need something to be serviced here, expect to wait at least a month (maybe more) for it to be fixed. Don't expect any courtesy calls from them either. I didn't have a choice of where to take my electric mower for service. This is the company they referred me to. I have had to call to get the status of my machine every week. Its been sitting in their shop for 3 weeks now, but according to the technician, they have over 100 machines to work on and may not get to mine anytime soon since one tech was on vacation for a week and now he is next in line to go on vacation for a week. Purchased a "Powerhorse Semi-Trash Water Pump - 2in. Ports, 7860 GPH, 6 HP, 5/8in. Solids Capacity, 208cc Powerhorse Engine". a little over two years ago - now out of warranty. I only used it about 6 times and it worked great. Then it would not start and on/off switch broke. I recently took it back to Northern to have it serviced. I was told at that time the repair should be minor and should not cost that much to correct. I got a call back from the mechanic and he said it would cost over $157 to correct - have to new carburetor, new of/on switch. Northern had a brand new engine for this same model for $169 - and that was not recommended - I strongly advise not purchasing this product ", Very disappointed in Northern Tool read more
