I have a rental home next door to my home. Both are over 90 years old. So I have spent alot of time making home improvements. I primarily make my purchases at the Home Depot on Fair but I actually have never had a bad experience at any of them. Sometimes the wait for help may be lengthy, more likely at the Sunset address, but the employers are always apologetic if that happens. Online service is great, too. This is an upgrade from my original review I originally wrote a review on the Ryobi Screwdriver set to use with a 3/8 impact set. Several straight bits the tips off and the phillips drivers all rounded the head and sides off. That prompted me to write the review. Several weeks ago I head from Alex from the review management team. We exchanged some emails and I then heard from Allison stated the set was not the RYOBI standard in workmanship. To my delight I was sent the replacement set and the bits in question are all marked for impact use. This is quality customer service which is not often found in businesses. I shop this store often and for the most part it is a great place to shop. However, recently as I entered the store to shop for a few needed items there was a Home Depot stand offering a/c tuneups for $29.00. after listening to their sales pitch I asked a few questions. I also asked if this was done by Home Depot employees and they said yes. I was contacted by Will Fixit and scheduled an appt. for Friday the 6th of Sept. between 10am and 2pm. They never showed up, although I had replied to their text message that we would be home. I made several calls but for several unlogical excuses they never showed up even after scheduling for later that evening between 6pm and 8pm. Finally, I just cancelled the no show appointments to include the one they offered later the following week. Mainly because I could not trust Will Fixit to show up and waste another day waiting. NOW I DO NOT KNOW IF I COULD EVER TRUST HOME DEPOT OFFERS IN THE FUTURE. SHAME ON HOME DEPOT FOR ALLOWING COMPANIES TO REPRESENT THEM THAT ONLY MAKE HOME DEPOT UNRELIABLE. This is a really nice but smaller Home Depot location. If you are looking to do a big project and need a wide variety of items, I don't think this is the location for you. I usually visit this Home Depot when I only need a couple items and don't feel like fighting the crowds at the Home Depot over at Sunset. The staff has always been super nice and been able to find everything I need. I also highly recommend using their website to check if they have your items ahead of time. You can also buy them through the website and pick them up at one of their lockers. read more

I purchased windows from Home Depot through consultant Paul. I discussed the window frames would need work or replacing due to rot.I took him outside and pointed it out, More than once. When the new windows were installed, the installer said the purchase order did not include wood so he used window putty to support the new windows. He actually used so much putty they had to leave and purchase additional tubes. When I complained to Home Depot, they refused to do anything about it. Looking back, I should have watched everything and stopped the installation when I did not see new wood. But, why would the installer move forward putting new windows in on top of rot. I did not dispute the pricing so Home Depot cannot say I could not or did not want to pay. Now we have another hard freeze coming and I am worried this putty will freeze and crack. I am really disappointed with this store they schedule a delivery for Friday 16th and for some reason they re scheduled for Saturday 17th, now they delivery only 340 of 450 sheets of drywall. I have 5 people and a lift (because is a two story house) waiting to put everything inside the house Customer service couldn't fix anything by the phone about the missing 110 pieces of drywall and theu just said call back on Monday I am loosing $1000 on people and machine just because the incompetence of the Fair Abe Home Depot store Now is Tuesday and Home Depot they best answer is that they are going to delivery the missing drywall until Thursday or cancel the order I don't understand how do they hire people that don't care about customer read more

I asked for a microwave that they are supposed to have in stock; worker asked can't you just come for it tomorrow cause I'm going to have to get a forklift to bring it down. Everyone is nice. However I do not recommend online ordering. Babysitting today so I thought I would just order and pick up at the curbside. I ordered paint at 7:08 am. App says it would be ready today. Showed they are processing my order all day. Called and was put on hold forever so I used text and got ahold of someone by 5pm. Paint is needed for a job tomorrow morning. Doubtful it will be ready today. Was told it was "possible" for it to be ready. Should have just went to Lowe's. Prices are higher but they call or email to let you know your order is going to be delayed. Disappointed. read more

Most times, the customer service at the Fair Ave store is very good. Unfortunately, this past weekend...ran across one worker who totally ignore my request for help and she continued on to the service desk. Sunday...was asking a man who was in millwork for assistance and he told me to go and look for someone with two orange flags? When I shared with the assistant manager, he lied right in front of me. I called twice this week to ask the General Manager Mark R. to reach out to me so I could provide feedback and never got a call back. Went by store today at 1 pm to pickup items ordered online. There was a long line at Pickup, and 2 staffers were standing around laughing chatting, then they started to box and tape wrap an items from earlier transaction. Then they decided to ask if we need help. RUDE. I would tell Home Depot managers to Train your associates that when customers are waiting in line to be helped that IS NOT the time to box and tape wrap some other returned item. That can be done when it is slow or there no customers in line. It is downright rude and inconsiderate, that customers can see while we are waiting that an associate is taking time to box and tape a product from an earlier transaction, rather than helping a customer in line. Really bad form, bad policy, bad customer service. And tell your staffers not to be standing around, laughing chatting when there are customers in line to be HELPES! read more

Around 830a.m. I called this store in response to a price quote. I wanted to ask if there are payment options for the installation I want. The employees transferred my call to the wrong departments several times. Then one of them said no one is available to answer my question. Around 1100a.m. I visited this store and asked to speak to a store manager. The store manager I first spoke with referred me to an employee - who kept asking the same question repeatedly, so asked if she is able to hear me. The employee snapped at me. The employee was gaslighting by accusing me of being rude for asking if she could hear me. Then the employee stormed away abandoning her duty when I said I will not argue. I asked for a store manager again, and eventually the manager provided the service I wanted. I made a complaint to this store manager. Then this store manager tried to be slick, by suggest that asking if a person is able to hear me for being asked the same question repeatedly, in a loud, bustling place like a Home Depot, could be rude. So I warned her I'd ask the corporate branch what she suggested, then she back pedaled. Many of the workers at this store are incompetent, rude, and do not actively listen to their customers. Then some of them will try to argue, or try to debate semantics about how their disrespect should be received. All else fails? They'll just storm away mad, and leave the work incomplete. read more

This Home Depot Doesn't even deserve one star. The entire store (it seems) was unwilling to help with my purchase. I'm a single mother just trying to build my daughter a loft in our room and I found lumber on sale. I was beyond grateful and happy at the thought of being able save some money on my project. Well the lumber was too big for my vehicle. I asked if I could get it cut in store, they refused to because it was discounted lumber. I went to to pay for it and ask if they would do a will-call just to give me a chance to get a different vehicle in which it would fit. The manager Patrick and another female manager (I cannot recall her name) refused. I was purchasing two pieces of lumber only not a whole bunch. I wasn't taking advantage of this sale or taking more than I needed. I don't know why THIS location refused to help in any way. How is an ordinary (nonprofessional) customer supposed to feel welcome at Home Depot if it seems as though there are all these policies that make it difficult for us to benefit from such discounts or even to receive helpful customer service. I never thought I'd write a review for Home Depot. I'm came in here for minor things. Like Light bulbs or really big trash bags. This one time i was here looking for a plumbing piece for a restroom faucet. I was with a couple family members when we were in the laminate floor section.... just passing by. i grabbed a sample item to show my mom. then all of a sudden we hear..." May i help you ladies? May I help you ladies? Do y'all have a question?" Mind you ...... we were at the end of the aisle. The home depot worker was entering from the other end when he saw us. So he was a good 20 feet away.I asked about a back splash that was was a laminate , but could be put in a kitchen wall, restroom wall, and a ceiling. i told him the name of the laminate. He hadn't heard of it, but there was such a thing. so he kindly walked me backed to the cabinet section and showed me exactly what I was talking about. He didn't know the name of the product but could tell me how to use it. that was good enough for me. it was a weird name anyways. Then Before that i asked another worker about an apron kitchen sink. He hadn't ever seen one or heard of it. But he also kindly walked me through kitchen sink section looking for the item then directed me to another man who knew more. At least the young man offered to look in the correct section and direct me to a more knowledgeable person. Tuns out the item had to be special order and wasn't on showcase. All of the workers were friendly and acknowledged us when we passed by. Even the Cashier was happy to see us. I've never been to a more friendlier Home Depot and at 4:00pm on a weekday. They all offered to walk me to the location instead of just telling me what aisle and good luck. Don't see that too often. read more

They go out of their way to find your item. Carlos, our cashier was very sweet and I don't recall his name but he took time to recommend products to help us with fleas in our yard along with a referral for a vet. Paid $302.02 with taxes. to be delivered to my home on March 04, 2019. Around 5pm March 04, 2019 I called Home depot at the Fair Ave and asked where was my Milwaukee Pack Out Tool Box that was to be delivered to my house. She said for me to wait till 8pm and it may arrive. I then called the customer service # 1-800-430-3376 and gave the automated agent my order # 7 to 8 times till i finally got a real person and explained to the agent that my order has not arrived. she looked up the order and told me that she couldn't help me, and that she didn't even know who the merchandiser was hired to deliver the Milwaukee Pack Out Tool Box. WE have bought thousands and thousands of dollars from this business, that we have decided not to purchase any more items from them. I am an Dissatisfied Customer. I wanted to have my kitchen redone and after paying for measuring and spending 3hrs in the store on a Sunday to get the everything in place and letting them know what I wanted, over $4000.00 worth and Daniel my worker in the store had not sent it over to the FTN after telling me i t would take two days and at the end of 12 days, he still had not gotten any further than when I was in the store. When I called him, he said he already sent it over to FTN, and would check into it and call me back, he did not return my call and when I followed up the next day, he said he was working on sending it then which was a lie. Bottom line is I had to request my measurements be sent to another store if i was going to get the job done. I recently went to this location for retaining wall blocks only because they had the amount in stock I needed for a job I was preparing for. With experience, I know when you go to pick up an order it takes some times up to 2 hours to get the order out and loaded. To save my self time I sent in one of my employees ahead of time to get the order ready. I am a landscaper and have dealt with Home Depot weekly for many years. I shop several stores and have never had a problem as I did with this store and the garden center. The women ( 3 of them) were very rude, and unprofessional. The forklift driver was rude and took the order back to the shelf instead of dropping it in front like usual. The women argued with My employee about me not being present with a trailer. He explained he was there to have order ready for me to pay and load when I arrived. . When I arrived, expecting my order to be sitting there ready to go it was no where to be found instead I found 3 women all standing at the register talking rudely about my employee. As I came in one woman started arguing with me over the order, and was very disrespectful, unprofessional and very arrogant. I asked for manager and she continued to argue about my employee.
