I just bought a Stihl leafe blower from this Live Oak store. I saw on the Stihl web site there was a sale going on. The Northern Web site said they offer a military discount. When I got to the store, I found the product I wanted but it wasn't marked at the sale price. I asked one of the associates about it and he told me to just show the add at checkout. He also informed me Stihl would not allow Northern to honor the military discount. I met Jason at the register and he was quickly able to verify the sale price and it was applied. Jason got me started with warranty and registration paperwork while he got the unit prepared to demo. He was very knowledgeable and thorough with the demo/ product. He made good recommendations about what kind of fuel to use as well as what not to use and why. He explained in great detail the process for warranty, repairs and parts. I am very pleased with the service I received today even though I didn't receive a military discount. I highly recommend this store. read more

Customer service is not as friendly. Kyla C. Is not the nicest lady in the store; especially, when she's the cashier. The tone of her voice carries and I see other customers cringe. I also noticed other employees cringe too. It's a good thing everyone wears a mask. She would definitely see our facial expressions... not that she would care. Based on her demeanor, she probably would've enjoyed it. I thought, "Maybe that's just the way she talks." Then I noticed her demeanor didn't change when the next customer was at the register. Customers come in happy to know they'll find the tools they need. But not so happy in the presence of Kyla C. At the register. Overall rating is 2 stars. The selection and availability of tools are great. But the customer service (from Kyla C.) needs improvement. I recommend coming here for the tools. read more

It's my own fault for coming back here time and again. Such indifferent customer service. Never a sincere apology when mistakes are made. The service department has been slow and unresponsive for awhile. Ron took my equipment to be fixed and told me he'd call me the next day. Never heard from him. Went back a week later and he said he just got the part in and would get it fixed by the next day. Never heard from him. Went back a week later and he said he got the part in that day. I told him he said that last week and he seemed surprised. Jason, the store manager, was there and did nothing to help the situation. I knew he would not be helpful because of previous conversation I had with him last year. I had to return something then and he did not seem to care the trouble it cost me. No apology then. No apology now. I picked my equipment up and left. What a waste of time. 2 weeks it sat there! I meant to write a review last time. I made sure to do it this time. Save yourself the trouble and find somewhere else. Poor customer service here. read more

Sooo.. Terry at the register needs a major major major! Attitude adjustment!! I get it Terry wearing a mask all day, dealing with idiots would make me crabby too.. I went to the Northern Tool on 9-24-18 and picked up grill cover that showed "20% off" as well as a few other items. I have had problems in the past getting the correct price charged to me on "marked down" items so I whipped out my cell phone and snapped a picture of the sign that was there, and proceeded to go on up to the front to check out. The lady that was by the registers was a heavy set white women, probably in her 40's (sorry I didn't get her name) but she has been working there for a while now. First of all let me say, I didn't care for her demeanor, she's quite rude and brief with the people checking out, (I witnessed this with several of the people in front of me also) When I go to pay for my items, the first thing I do is show her my cell phone picture of the 20% off that I took by the grill cover. She turned around to another computer and proceeded to check me out. The total bill seem high so as I was walking to my truck, I noticed they only took $2 off of the $30 grill cover, (it should have been $6 off) That right there, is exactly what I am talking about, its always a FRIGGIN issue getting the sale prices. So I go back in there and she is standing there not really busy and I said "hey, you only took $2 off of the cover?" she said, "I just put in what the price was in the computer" (rudely btw) so I said, "but, I showed you the sign on my phone that clearly says 20% off???" By this time, she is obviously getting irritated with me, (I mean just think about that, She....is getting MAD at me... who is only pointing out the obvious fact, that she screwed up) Then again, I don't know if they're screwing up or just trying every little trick to beat you out YOUR money, so they can make more on commission. By this time there were several other people stepping up to the counter, I don't think she was going to fix it right then but she was going to make me get back in line. WTF??? So I said in a fairly loud voice in front of every one in the store. "THIS IS EXACTLY WHY I NEVER SHOP IN THE FRIGGIN STORE, YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT TO CHARGE PEOPLE FOR THE ITEMS YOU SELL HERE, NEVER-FRIGGIN-MIND, KEEP THE OTHER 4 DOLLARS IF YOU NEED IT THAT BAD!!! and walked out the store and left. GEEZ I can't stand this store!!! I'm a business owner myself, and I'm in there a lot, but, I will never step foot in there ever again. After a poor experience at another store, I thought that I would try this location. I was looking for a die grinder. My overall impression of this store is that it is comparable to a tractor supply store or Harbor Freight which is located in many places within Texas. The store is clean, well laid out and they have a lot of interesting things that are probably hard to find like the previous stores that I mentioned in my review. I appreciated the fact that I was able to locate what I wanted to purchase. However, the service etc was not so great. The store was pretty empty and I approached the personnel for assistance in locating the item. The person running the register was helpful, but at the same time, seemed rather annoyed that I interrupted them doing what they were doing. The person who was called to assist me in locating the item in the store also seemed annoyed...All things being equal...will most likely not return to Northern Tool and Equipment... read more

Went in to Northern Tool off I35 and 1604 on 7 December and every thing went great. Then I received my first statement and saw they overcharged me, so I went in to the store to see if they would help, and the assistant manage Kayla and sales associate were rude and only handed me a phone number as well as mumbling under there breath as I left. So I called the number and was on hold for almost 30 min. When I finally got to someone they were smart and short and kept getting transferred back and forth. Could not even get a district mangers number or voice mail, they did not even offer to take my number for some one to call me back. I certainly won't be spending my money with them anymore.
