Some friends of ours recommended Albers after we had some difficulty with another carpenter our fireplace rep had recommended. Albers came to our home for a complimentary consultation. I spent perhaps 15 minutes with him & provided a sketch, description, & inspiration photos. He took some measurements, went over stain and door options and was off! Easy breezy compared to other (numerous) custom consultation I had to endure. The cabinets were done earlier than expected. The installation was today and I was nervous as I am admittedly a bit Type A & wasn't sure if they would make them the way I envisioned. Well, let me tell you they are everything I had wanted and more! The cabinets are beautiful! Excellent craftsmanship, extras we hadn't expected (like colored light options!), and the installer went above and beyond. Albers is a family owned business and everyone we dealt with was unbelievably nice and down-to-earth. If you are looking for custom cabinetry of any kind, including kitchen, bar, etc. give them a try, I guarantee you will be so very glad you did! They absolutely blew me out of the water, was just thrilled! *will post picture following completion of stone work next week!

However, if you choose a different contractor to put in your foundation (which was a less expensive option with a trusted contractor), be prepared to have to find a different contractor to place your house on the foundation. They will give every excuse in the book. They will not tell you they won't do it, they'll just continue giving conditions that are increasingly impossible to fulfill. By the time we were able to get it placed by a different contractor, all of the appliances were no longer under warranty. FYI: The warrenty starts the day the appliances were delivered to the company who built your house... not the day you actually are in the house and using them. We ordered a picture window for the living room and were given no blinds for it. After much correspondence with Diamond, ie: pictures taken, quotes gotten, etc per their request, they finally tell me that it's not in the contract I signed. A tiny little spot that says no blind for that window! If it had been brought to my attention, I would have paid more to have the blinds! I was never asked if I had a preference! One would think that a good salesman would ask! I was also dealing with an aging parent living with us and his death before the house was finished. We dealt with two family deaths, administration of a trust, moving everything out of our old house for demolition and living in a travel trailer until the new house was finished...all in the same year! I'm definitely not happy with their aftercare service! I was told by the salesman that this company was a mom & pop type company that goes beyond the sale of the house to make sure it's customer needs were met. Unfortunately, this was not the experience we had with them. I've heard that all of these companies do the same thing. After you purchase and take delivery, they're done with you! And, I've been told by this company that this honest review is the reason they won't help with the blinds. When actually, it's because it was in the contract without my knowledge and they didn't say anything until I submitted the review. I don't pretend to expect them to stand behind anything anymore! The local company that placed the house (not a Diamond Home Sales contractor) is the same contractor who demolished the old house and built us a very solid 6' crawl space. And we LOVE it!!! They have been very good to us!

Where do I even start...Kathy is a con-woman plain and simple. Anyone who signs a contract with you…read moresaying that they will hold an estate sale at your residence, then removes things from the house without inventorying anything, and then just calls and says she is no longer going to have the sale once you are already moved out of town and can't really do anything about it, is not the person that you want handling your belongings, especially if you are grieving. Here are some things that were not okay: taking items out with inventorying them or telling us exactly what she removed. When we confronted her about not having the sale and wanting everything put back in the house and asked for an inventory of what had been removed, she wrote an inventory of the things she brought back including two places where she wrote "and miscellaneous." Miscellaneous. On an inventory list. It was useless anyway, what there should have been is a list of items removed from the home, not returned. A large item went missing and she did not report it to the police. Why not unless...1) you took it, 2) you know you took it, 3) you literally didn't notice it was gone, or 4) you just don't care. Whichever the reason, an important item disappeared and was not recovered. Kathy got us in touch with a woman who specialized in gun sales, making sure everything is legal, as well as a real estate agent she recommended. Things really started to go sideways when we would text the realtor a concern and Kathy would return the text. That's when we found out that the three of them, Kathy, Kim and Pam all worked together. These weren't helpful, friendly recommendations, this was a play for total control over everything. We ended up switching to another company, having a sale and making a few thousand dollars. DO NOT USE KD! They are well known in the area and I feel like they might have been really great once, until Kathy realized that fleecing people was a much easier way to make money.
