Good breakfast. Cons: This hotel has clearly been updated but not maintained well. The ceiling in the lobby bathroom is leaking and has a bucket catching the water. There is peeling wallpaper, cobwebs in the corner of the room, and a dingy shower tray. There was a large spot on the carpet of our room that was wet and got my suitcase and socks soaking wet. The nice patio overlooking the river closes at 10pm. Also, not to be "that person," but we are Marriott Gold Elite, and typically there is mention of that during check in, a note about the free upgraded WiFi, etc. Not only was there none of that when I checked in, I was initially told at 1:30 that it would be "1-2 hours until your room is ready" because they were busy. When I mentioned that this would be past the check in time and that we had a wedding to get to, I was told I was free to get changed in the lobby bathroom.

He's the face and the spirit of the place. He gives undivided attention to each person. He's focused on your needs and takes the action to make it work. It's more than just the little things like remembering each person's name. A quick example. We'd stayed there once on a school visit. I called to see if we could have books and things shipped from Amazon to the Inn, so we wouldn't have to carry them on the plane. I remember Paul's response, "I've been here for 13 years, and we've been doing it since it was an option." The rooms are well kept. The beds are firm and clean. Everything is clean and comfortable. My only ding is there is no elevator to the 2nd floor, so make sure to request a first floor if you have limitations. I have to add that we had the suite with the whirlpool last time. Like most hotels I've stayed in, they are actually in a corner of the room. I'll say it was pristine. BTW - Did I mention that Paul is outstanding and is why the AmericInn is rated at the top of TripAdvisor for Northfield. Room Tip: There's no elevator to the 2nd floor, so make sure to inform the hotel if you have any limitations.
