Store is super clean and very friendly employees. Prices are typical. I bought tamales one red pork which was excellent in flavor. Also I bought a rajas con queso... so disappointing... the wrapping was horrible. The chile was outside the corn leaf and the cheese was no where to be found... I would not recommend eating the panadería bread at all. I found a hair that looked like pubic hair. Called to explain that and they were not friendly or willing to be respectful about the situation. I also purchased a different time a cake and the man serving the area was mopping. He proceeded to take my order and try to pack and decorate the cake with the same gloves he was mopping with. The staff was very helpful in assisting us and helping calculate for about 300 guests.The store was very clean and the ambiance was excellent, music selection was perfect. We picked this location because it was the nearest to " El Farallón Event Center". Everyone loved the cake, we had strawberry filled & chocolate cake. Decoration is great. Feeling of a rustic market in rural Mexico. Prices are too high in comparison with other markets. Hot food is tasty sold by the pound. A little container can become an 11 dlls snack size meal. No place to buy nor eat if watching your budget. I only once complained after I watched how horchata drink was being prepared: hands without gloves pushing ice down then mixing deeply into container. Manager explained there are different "techniques" but that he respected my point of view. He said he would be checking cameras and see if what I said was what happened in actuality. Then he would take appropriate actions. After that I understood I woULD not ever buy AGUAS FresCas there. Amoebas need heat to die off. Very hot food is safe though. The food was very dry and not flavorful. And the meat with Chile was so spicy couldn't eat it so disappointed. The commercial looks so different and fresh. I come here for things I can't find at FFL or Walmart cuz I feel it's better than superior or else super, it's unfortunate how you come in here trying to enjoy your day and get what you need. They have major attitudes at the carniceria (THEY ROLL THEIR EYES AT YOU) or pretty much any where here, bakery takes forever, they give sad pieces of carne, cashiers are rude, especially the SEÑORAS working. This is one of the bigger Northgate Supermarkets I've been to. There's even a small restaurant-ish area for you to sit and eat at. Supposedly the panderia here is bigger than the other stores...but I think they're about the same size. Or if it was bigger, it's not by too much...maybe just another section of breads. Plus, the smaller Northgate always has the ones I like so I wouldn't need a bigger selection. Also, the prices of their fruits and vegetables are pretty cheap. The marinated chicken, chuleta (pork chops), and al pastor they have are pretty good. And, there are also ready made carnitas, Spanish rice, and chicharrón. Another thing, they have fresh made tortillas. And they have their own store brand chips to have with your salsa or guac (which they also have).. or maybe your ceviche. Parking: they have a parking lot .. but depending on when you go.. it can get packed! read more

This is just a review of their bakery - I still need to explore the rest of the store. Walked in w/my mom last week because this is where my mom got me a delicious Choco flan birthday cake a few weeks ago. I decided to go and check out their selection and I walked out w/a 3 leches cake and a gelatina. They have pretty good deals Fri-Sun. The only hassle is that you order your cake/items at the counter, then you need to go get in line at the registers where other shoppers w/groceries line up to pay, then go back to the bakery and show your receipt. The tres leches cake was really good but the gelatina did not have much of a taste. I noticed they have other sections such as the Aguas frescas and mini deli/restaurant. I saw a sign for tortas so I'll be back. I have a weakness for horchata so I bought a small one - it was good! No complaints here. read more

The tortillas are so good. My dad continues to bring the tortillas already warm and boy is it delightful. The only reason I cannot go past 3 stars is my parents started arguing. My dad bought beans for 5.99. The jar was not even mid size. My mom was angry because they were basically blended beans with water and salt (Not refried, no flavor added). So I do not recommend the beans they sell to go. They also gave my dad a salsa for free. It was the saltiest thing we have tasted so far. It went were it belonged; in the trash. Please be considerate of the customers that are still going and buying from the deli. Many are now more cautious of what can be bought. Don't make valued customers now doubt and search for a more consistent deli/store. read more

Today I went over to northgate 4/5/17 while I was at northgate there was a horrible smell which I taught it was they had mop with a dirty mop but it turns out it was the chicken I had gotten from the meat department! I ask to speak with the manager to cashier Elvia G, who had poor lack of customer service, when the manager came she mention this is not the 1st time that she gets a complaint that their meat is past it's due date !!! In other words spoiled!! Yesterday, I was approached by your security at the south gate store. Reason? Topping off my coffee! Perhaps you don't know that "Plain Jane" coffee re-fills are widely complimentary in the United States. Yet, when I walk in your store, there is apparently someone watching my every move on video making sure I don't get a re-fill. Perhaps, better use of security would be to label the coffee as non-refill. This would be preferable to embarrassing/harassing customers with your security. Are you kidding me? What's wrong with you guys? I did request a manager (Juan.). I explained to Juan that a friend and I had been coming in 3 times a week for the last several weeks for breakfast and this is no way to treat loyal customers. Had this situation occurred in another community the manager would have refunded my meals, given me a voucher for free meals and apologized. I told Juan I needed more to continue coming for breakfast than a fake apology, something to show Northgate really cares but nada. DISGUSTING!!! Went today to buy groceries and the pan dulce (sweet bread) had flies all over them. Proceeded to the meat department and same thing flies on the meat! No one was trying to keep them away and when I informed the worker she looked at me like "yea Uhuh?" I have never in my life been to a dirtier Northgate and I use to shop there all the time! I submitted a complaint to the health department because that is not sanitary!! Also the employees reaction made me realize they didn't care about the customer nor the quality of their food!
