I have personally always liked this mall because I grew up coming here. I prefer it to the Alderwood Mall because it's less crowded. But, it isn't as good as South Center, that's for sure. The mall doesn't have as many shops as South Center. The little Asian drink/dessert "store" in the middle of the Mall, in front of Gamestop and JCPenny, is not that good. I didn't get a receipt, and I don't remember the name. There is a lining of Nutella in the case, and they serve Boba milk tea. I got a Boba milk tea banana flavor and it was disgusting. Definitely not worth the $3.50. Sakuro, I believe it's called, the Japanese food in the food court is good. They give you free samples, and a $0.50 coupon usually whenever I am in here. I decided to get a soda from Baskin Robbins once (yes this store carries soda to compete with the other stores) because their soda was cheaper than the other food restaurants. Well, it had a FLY in it. Never going back there again! But yeah, I like the look and feel of this mall. read more

I tried my hardest to like this mall. Looks pretty nice from the outside. You get inside and still looks pretty nice. If you enter down by Azteca you will be greeted with a nice little kids play area. A few big name stores down there. As you get to the first intersection you see a little seating area with nice little charging stations. And in the chairs, you see an abundance of sleeping homeless people with totes of literally garbage and stolen goods that they are hoping to trade to one of the few trade stores in the mall. You are then passed by a security guard buzzing past on a Segway. You aren't quite sure if they are oblivious to or just don't seem to care about the Homeless Comfort Inn that has formed in the sitting area or the 4 year old running around with no parent directly in sight. You watch them almost knock down a set of teenagers and bark that they need to watch where they are going. You then continue walking, and about the time you get to Zumiez, you see 2 Seattle PD officers exiting a store that has YET AGAIN been a target of a grab and go shoplifter. As you wonder down the hall, you pass by other shoppers, about 14 homeless people, 20 meth faced druggies, and the occasional oblivious mom taking up half the walkway as she chats on her phone. Just as in any mall you are stopped once or twice by the sales people at their kiosks, you smile and walk on, then pass a kiosk where a young man selling calendars is cat calling a girl walking by with his fellow co workers. Once past Macy's you continue to see nice shops. You reach the one or two that ALWAYS seem to be switching tenants. As you reach the end, you approach the food court. Once there you realize the temp has risen, almost twice as warm there than anywhere else in the mall. You pick from the mediocre at best food choices. While sitting in the food court you are approached by 3 homeless people asking for food and money, and 2 crazy people wanting to tell you about their newest invention. You study the food court, seeing there is a bathroom. Wow, you walked the whole mall and there was 1 bathroom at the other end of the mall. No wait, there was a single stall family bathroom at the other end. Glad people have a choice of what end to walk to. Still studying, you see a kiosk that seems to buy phones. You sit and eat and watch as crackhead after crackhead bring phone after phone to get quick cash. They don't have shoe laces but some how they have a iPhone 6s Plus. That's when you come to the ultimate conclusion. This mall is a joke. It is nice and polished on the outside, even with in the walls, it's decent, but then you get to the core. It is rotten. You have boring stores, a crappy food selection at best, a den for thieves, druggies, thugs, and homeless, one set of full bathrooms at the far end, and you wonder why you see maybe 100 people on a slow day. read more

Northgate Mall has improved tremendously since Simon Properties Group (manages various malls thoughout U.S.) took over as management. I usually just eat @ Panda Express. There are no so-called "quality" people at this mall. The people, indeed, look as if they were released from a mental institution or hooked on drugs. In fact, the majority of the population in Shoreline are pretty much one of the worst in Seattle. read more

This is a pretty outstanding place, for me. I expected it to be bigger due to some friends' stories, but it's just a little bigger than my local mall. It's a great place to visit if you're driving by or around the Seattle area. I came here for the Pokemon Center kiosk/vending machine, which was wonderful for a Pokemon fan like me. We went there because we heard that they had a brand new children's play area and were very excited. The play area itself is actually quite nice - very clean, cool cubbies to store stuff by your feet, lots of obstacles. The reason for the two stars is frankly the placement of this play area - so bad. The only bathrooms in the whole mall are on the complete opposite side of the mall. Try walking two toddlers ALL THE WAY DOWN THERE to go potty through the food court which is crowded and people bumping you and so many distractions that it takes 5 minutes just to get through the food court and ask yourself - do I feel like going all the way back to the play area now? Answer - no I don't. And I won't be back here to play at all. It seems so poorly thought out. There is no marketing for kids anywhere near the play area. I'm not in marketing but last time I checked they put these things in so people will stay and buy more. That and the bathroom placement really blow - I don't recommend it. read more

I wish I could give it fewer stars, but I go enough where I couldn't save face if it were lower. But seriously, this place is nowhere near as nice as Alderwood, UVillage, or BellSquare. I give it one star extra for the historical value - it was the first mall in the country where the stores faced each other! So, for mall dorks like me, it's a site to see. In any event, a slightly nicer entrance (read - put in an escalator) on the food court side would spruce the place up a lot. And get the security guards to enforce the smoking rules on the deck outside the food court right in front of their office! read more

So if your from any where near the midwest, This mall isn't that awesome. But Seattle has alot to offer other than malls and malls have competition here. 1 star for having a Torrid in the Pacific Northwest. 1 star for a juice / smoothie bar in the mall. and The final star for easy axcess to I-5. loved the remodeling that was done to this mall. Wished there could be more choices of stores and not having another shoe store. It seems every 10 feet there is a shoe store. How about bringing in more men's clothes, kitchen and unique shops. Restaurants are good. It would be nice to have a place to go to for breakfast brunch or buffet. No restaurants in the mall currently offers breakfast on their menu. Just throwing a suggestion out there. All in all, Northgate Mall is a good mall. I live two blocks from the mall, so the convenience is awesome. Just wish the mall could offer more modern shopping options and what is present. read more

Not much out of the ordinary on this Mall. Features Nordstrom, Macy's, JC Penney's and the like. Decent size food court which we've sought out on hot summer nights. Lots of kiosk shops. Nothing terribly special. read more

This mall reminds me of a place to hide out during a zombie apocalypse. It's usually not very crowded, and most of the people you do see, give you a shady vibe. Definitely a get in-get out kind of place to be. read more

I have been shopping at this mall for almost 16 years. Just like any mall that loses consistency with shops, it does get frustrating seeing shops come and go ( I guess that bothers me, shouldn't someone be bothered?). I have seen good shops go. One was called Romy (which closed down everywhere), The Limited, Aeropostale and what came after them as well. That is why I vote the amount of stars is because of that problem. Most of the staple shops (Macy's, JCPenny, Nordstrom) have been there for a very long time. Actually the mall was built around the Nordstrom and some of the other shops as it used to be an outdoor mall. This area has some pretty interesting history. A lot of people use this mall, as I am sure other malls, as a place to walk in the morning and I am sure throughout the day during this cold season. There are also some other places that are business staples from the early 90's like Icing and Claire's. There is variety and there are carts in the middle of the walkways that have businesses there. Some of them really try to stop you and sell you things. That part can be uncomfortable. It is a good size mall, not too long compared to the other ones in the state. Sometimes I often wonder if the people that secure the mall can truly help in any situation. I have heard stories about how they really have not done that for the shops that have gone through something not really good. Safety is so important and especially if you are in a shopping center. There are salons and a few restaurants to that are outside to choose from. There is food court and an entrance from the mall to the Red Robin (they close that entrance early and the other entrance is on the other side outside). There is a kids play area, but beware that no one is watching that place except yourself, so it can get busy and I am not sure how often that place get's truly cleaned and steam cleaned because I see the parents and children not taking off their shoes as they are supposed to for the common good. read more

It's convenient and that is about the only reason you will find me here. It has a heavy feeling. A depressing feelings. It's is quiet and dead. It's run down. It is a mall. It lacks a positive experience. Get in get out. Buy the one thing you NEED and move on with your day. It is the opposite of a Bell Square Experience. read more

I really don't quite understand why this mall gets such a bad rap. It's a fairly typical mid-tier mall with the usual national chains and a decent food court. There's a practical mix of anchors and a decent selection of sit-down restaurants. The interior is clean and fairly up to date. It's not the most exciting mall ever but it's perfectly fine to me. read more

we went to this mall for some specific shops and they were awesome. all staff in the stores were friendly and helpful. biggest complaint was the customer service desk. being from overseas we asked about getting a taxi, the guy behind the counter was more worried about using his phone to do his hair than helping. the phone number he gave us was wrong. lucky the mall had free WiFi so we could google and get the right phone number. read more

I just moved here from a small town in Kansas, where I had to buy a lot of stuff online. I would rate this mall equivalent to the one I had in Kansas, honestly; the only things going for it are the theater across the street and a few of the stores that don't connect into the main part of the mall. If I could, I would rate this as NO stars. A good many of the mall workers seem to not care about helping consumers, there are just there to say the requisite hello and then they ignore you until you want to checkout. I also want to rant about the kiosk-vendors, too. I have never been to a mall where the vendors are so abhorrently harassing and will not leave you alone. I could not get away from one the other day, no matter how hard I tried. I finally broke down and bought something so they would let me leave and I hate myself for it. I won't be back to this mall because of that. Save yourself the bother and drive the extra 15-20 minutes and just go to the Lynnwood mall, they treat shoppers much better there. read more

I'd say the best mall ever....consider the underground delivery and utility access....................way ahead of it's time (1949) no delivery truck exhaust or blocking parking or traffic, lots of people don't even notice! I probably spent most of my time there as a young boy after school especially at Christmas time, the train and the huge tree with the carolers. read more

awesome shopping center, i appreciated this shop especially now they have nordstrom rack as an addition. I like the play area as for toddlers as well but recently seemed like parents and people around northgate area aren't respectful toward the play area any more. Many parents allowed their kids (4-8 years old) running around the play area with shoes while other toddlers crawling and playing. While i was here on 3/5/2015 afternoon, i noticed 3 older kids are with shoes (one couple asked their daughter to take off the shoes after i asked the girl to take off, kuddos for the parents) , 1 mom with a stroller parked in the middle of the one side of play area and i reminded her and she told me i don't own this place so mind my own business (see attached picture). I don't feel safe taking my kids here any more. Those are hazardous for my kids. Either parents don't read, don't know how to read or just being ignorance here but i see more rude parents here recently and mostly non-white. i am non-while myself and feel ashamed for their disrespectful & ignorance behavior. read more
