Pacific Place is pretty uninhabited, so there's not much to see beyond the movie theatre and restaurants. There were a couple of odd shops, but I never saw them open. It is very clean inside with beautiful design and a lovely skylight to let in natural light. It is a shame that the space is not better utilised! I think there's a lot of potential here, but as for now, it isn't a place I would visit unless I was specifically going for one of the restaurants. read more

Pacific Place is a mall center in the Downtown area with a sky lighted atrium and is a bit touristy although similar places could probably be found in any city downtown. It has dining, a theater and just generally looks like a place to hangout for teens given the shops and seating on the bottom floor. Came here to catch a movie at the AMC and it was a trip going all the way up to the third floor up all the escalators. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from for dining, which is good if you don't want to get any concessions before or after a movie here. The mall is described as "a modern mall with the grandeur of a basilica." It looks well kept up and clean. The Escalators were all functional unlike one of the QFC's I frequent. Parking is available and will run you about $12 which will get you about 3 hours which should be enough for a movie or other patronage here. read more

I went here on a Sunday earlier this month around 2:20pm when I was visiting Seattle and it was very empty (there wasn't a lot of people or stores here). It felt odd being in a mall that empty compared to all the other malls I've been to. This mall has 4 floors. There's lots of places to sit here and a couple shops on each floor, BUT there's not much to do here. Most of the stores here when I went were closed or being remodeled into something else. Something I did enjoy is how they have charging outlets to charge your phone and other electronics at the tables here. I would ONLY recommend this place if you're desperate to charge your electronics or if you want a nice place to sit and relax indoors. IF you're looking for a nice SHOPPING mall, I would NOT recommend going here. There were only a couple stores on each floor and that's not enough places to choose from. read more

I don't know what to say? The upscale shopping area in downtown is now held up by a floor of restaurants. There are still a few upscale stores and it does well hiding how many vacant storefronts there are. It made a little sad to walk around in there. Sniff sniff. read more

Good central location and walkable distance from a few hotels! Great spot for visitors to hang out, shop, and eat! I was expecting more from this place, thinking they would be more stores. I feel like the only one worth going to was Lululemon.... We walked down from our hotel, and we were able to at least eat at the Haidilao here so I can't really speak for parking. I just wish there was more stores. read more

This is an update on the construction from a Dec 22, 2019 visit. Added two photos of the construction in progress. There is progress at the mall, but nowhere near done. Even so, some restaurants and some shops are still in operation. The Seattle local artist shop, "The Handmade Showroom", has stayed open through this period; be sure to look for them. Bonus, the mall has several Xmas deco for photo op. On the weekend, there was a Santa available to take photos. Free! That was a pleasant surprise. The gist of the mall layout looks similar to before except the lighting and flooring has brightened up. The main floor is now cut open (where the coffee shop and mini bakery used to be) such that you can now see the Barnes and Noble level in the basement. The main entrance is currently closed, and everyone enters through "Wish", a toy store that is occupying the Barney's New York that has closed. read more

One of my favorite malls in downtown Seattle! They have plenty of interesting shops and eateries to peruse, mostly upscale, but there really is something for every one. The mall is under renovation right now but is still fully operating. I attended a pop up Spring beauty and fashion event here today and had a really good time sampling treats from Johnny Rocket, Trophy Cupcake, and Thai Bisro, as well as learning to make my own flower crown. It's a mall. A high end, exclusive space specific to the needs of those who wish to indulge in overpriced goods and services. It's clean and "nice", but is certainly catering to a specific crowd. The movie theater can be found on the topmost floor and offers a selection of new release films for the masses. Restaurants are also available with "patio" seating around the perimeter of the floor, immediately outside each dining establishment. "Snow" falls in the wintertime once or twice daily, making for a five-minute festive, seasonal display including music. read more

4/22/24 update: So glad Covid-19 finally come to an end, newer businesses have opened after this pandemic ends. Saw some new decorations on the concourse level which made them looked more upscale. The main floor is now cut open such that you can see the barnes&noble level in the basement. A haidilao hotpot reopened after annual changes. Nice indoor seating on the top level by the pike place chowder. Parking rate is still $7 per hour, wish they could reduce hourly rate smh... Steady and slowly, the mall itself has been improved throughout the years. read more

I've been shopping at Pacific Place since I was a teen, and man, has it always been a great place for it. Currently, they are renovating the space, so it'll be exciting to see how it improves. But I find that Pacific Place is a great shopping space. Pacific Place has multiple levels of stores and some restaurants and a cinema on the highest level. They don't have everything, but they have a decent amount of stores, especially for women's apparel. I also like that they feature pop-up shops here, which has been a great way to learn about and support local. Pacific Place is in downtown Seattle, and is walking distance to all the retail. It even has a skybridge that connects you to Nordstrom's flagship store. Though I usually take public transit when I come here, there is a parking garage underground, and I hear it's affordable, especially for it being in downtown Seattle. Pacific Place is worth a gander if you're shopping or just want to catch a movie or find something to eat. Some favorites are J.Crew, The Handmade Showroom, and happy hour at Pike Place Chowder. read more

A sizeable mall that's currently undergoing construction, which makes it a little odd to navigate. There are several shops inside that are open, as well as the restaurants on the top level (where AMC Movie Theatre is located). Barnes & Noble, and the restaurant (Din Tai Fung, Pike Place Chowder, etc.)/movie level are usually consistently active. Tips: -Take the escalator to the various levels, as the elevators are usually a lenghty wait and can be crowded -Public restrooms are located on the 3rd level -Catching an Uber or Lyft? A self contained shopping mall with various retailers, restaurants, movie complex, and parking. This was one of the early construction projects my brother worked on in the 1990s in downtown Seattle. It serves its purpose for awhile now, offering a little something for everyone that passes through, especially with its proximity to the Washington State Convention Center and downtown hotels. Pacific Place is an updated anchor in comparison to Westlake Center. I was surprised to catch a summer bubble show at 6pm with tunes from Justin Timberlake and Donna Summer during this 7/8/17 brief visit. Wrapped up this brief visit by riding the escalator up and down, gawked at the crowds outside Din Tai Fung, and checked out Barnes and Noble bookstore before catching a concert at The Paramount. read more

Pacific Place is an attractive indoor space in downtown Seattle. It is a verticle four story mall centered around an atrium. This review discusses how they score by category of store. Apparel: The shops are more upscale than mid-level apparal shops. The Gap, Marshall's and Ross are out of their element here. Apparal shops in Pacific Place include Guess, Barney's New York, Eddie Bauer, and Club Monaca. There is also a walkway to Nordstroms. If your wealthy the apparel stores will get 4 stars. If your on a budget more like 2 stars. Children's and toys: I only saw two shops for children. It is Top Ten Toys and Gymboree. Jewelry: Fitting into the upscale theme, I would think this would be an excellent mall for jewelry. From what I see, most of the jewlry business is a part of the apparal shops. Shoes There was not one store selling sneakers. So, I give Pacific Place zero stars for their shoe stores. Specialty stores The speciality stores reflect the upscale target market. The shops include The Art of Shaving, SEVEN Salon. Electronics: There are a few good electronic stores. It was in this mall that I first saw a Microsoft shop. There is also an At&T and Bose store, plus GameStop. Specialty Gifts: The specialty stores are nothing to boast over. They include Brookstone, Teavana, Sixth Avenue Wine Seller, and Coach. Dining and coffee The dining and coffee options are good. When you walk in from Olive Street there is II Fornaio Risotteria. Deep on the first floor there is a II Fornaio Risotteria & Bakery and Cafe. The other full service restaurants include Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant, Mexico Cantina y Cocina, Thai Ginger, and Pike Place Chowder. The closest to casual dining is the Johnny Rockets by AMC Theatres. And there is the standard Starbucks. It is on the sixth Avenue side. Books: When it comes to books Pacific Place is my kind of place. At Seventh and Pine, a Barnes & Nobles stands at its southeast corner. Entertainment: The AMC Theatres on the fourth level is a state-of-the-art multiplex. I give Pacific Place 4 stars for entertainment on account of the fact that it is the home of a state-of-the-art multiplex in the downtown near the hotels. Conclusion: Pacific Place is my kind of place for books and movies. Owing to the fact that the majority of the shops are solely marketed for the upper income and sneaker shops are nonexistent, Pacific Place is not my kind of place for shopping. A nicer shopping mall in the downtown area. There are lots of stores. However, I don't visit majority of them except maybe 2 or 3 of the stores here. I like how the Barnes & Noble is downstairs. Please do not close this B&N location! This building is also linked to Nordstrom. So when Seattle is rainy and cold outside, which is like 300 days out of each year, you can get up to the elevator to the third floor and use the skybridge and get to Nordstrom. There is a movie theater on the 4th level. I come here often for movies. Restaurants nearby offer 10% -ish discount if you bring in your movie ticket. I have been to Thai Ginger, nothing special. I have also been to Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant. The food was mediocre. Although the Pike Place Chowder is really good! I received the worst service possible at Johnny Rockets and have no interests visiting there again. They have an indoor club on the 4th level, which is not the best clubbing place either in my personal opinion. In general, this mall is great. I like certain stores of this mall. It is a nice escape when it gets too rainy outside. I do not remember how much they charge for parking. The names for each garage parking level is indeed interesting. Depends on your mood, you could either park in San Francisco level or Shanghai level (or is it Thailand or something)? read more

Oops! It's summer, it's Seattle, it's buzzing with tourists and this place is going through some tenant improvements renovations. Really? What happened? Translate the lost revenue into $$$ and one could feel the pain. Irrespective of ongoing tenant improvements, this place is a great Seattle stop for its light filled atrium, variety of brand name stores, restaurants, a movie theater, brewery and simply the experience that is unique from the street life outside. I'm not from here so I don't know how long this place has been under construction, but it is far from done and there are a ton of empty shop spaces. Different than the last times we were here. It does have some good places to eat up top and a couple of stores I personally like. I hope they finish construction soon, it seems like they're trying to add cool photo op areas if you're into Instagram or pics for Facebook. Pacific place is a complete shell of its former self. I remember walking around this mall during the holidays storefronts everywhere people it was great. Now it's an empty mall with the only draw being the restaurants and movie theater on the top floor. I visited this last week and ended up getting my catalytic converter stolen out of my car. Haven't heard anything back since and this apparently was the seventh time within the past month this has happened. I don't think cutting out a catalytic converter is a 5 minute job so I would hope security gets stuff figured out. Will not be coming back here. read more

This is my go-to place for downtown parking when I want to hangout downtown. It's centrally located and easy access to and from the underground parking. I like that it's close to Nordstrom and just about all the other shopping areas downtown. The alternative to parking here is going over off of 3rd & Stewart at the Macy parking deck. As for shopping there's a Tiffany's; almost everything else I need I order online anyway and just skip the hassle of going to downtown. read more

The majority of the restaurants inside are on the top floor. The AMC movie theater is also located on the top floor. The layout is really easy to figure out and was probably designed to get you all the way to the top via the escalator without too much walking. Considering the other indoor malls just a few blocks in either direction, Pacific Place kills it! Who doesn't want a one-stop-shop? Whether you need to grab a gift (bookstore) or some food, or just catch a movie, you can do it all without having to walk outside into the rain. Even if I don't need to buy anything or catch a movie, I'll park in Pacific Place to run errands or have meetings downtown. I'd rather pay less to park here in one of a million free spaces than to fight for parking or pay 2x just 3 blocks west. The stores have changed a lot recently and the addition of the Michael Kors shop is awesome! You can't get me to start off a day of shopping anywhere else. read more

I can remember when they were building this place, and all of us who lived and worked downtown were wondering whether this kind of high-density, high-concept retail development was really warranted in Seattle's metro core. Well, years have gone on, and it's still here. There's a movie theater, and plenty of places you can get your drink on. If you have a strong opinion about any of the retail merchandise on offer here, nothing I say will change your mind, because I can easily live my whole life without thinking a thought of any of these retailers ever again. They're fine. For my money, too spendy for what you get, but, OK. They're still here. The place is always fully leased out. The concept clearly works, so kudos to them for pulling it off. What I kinda like is the layout. The atrium feel gives it a sliver of identity. Big glass roof bathing the place in whatever light's available. Wraparound staggered escalators. You feel like you're at least at the only mall with this particular layout/footprint, at least in this town. Not that it doesn't feel like a mall, but at least you don't get that miserable treadmill feeling of plodding from one end to the other, trying to remember where the hell you were gonna buy that thing, whatever it was. Bottom line, it's not the kind of place you go, it's the kind of place you end up (to coin an already well-worn cliche). It's fine. read more

Being at Pacific Place reminds me of being at Pioneer Place in Portland (http://www.yelp.com/biz/pioneer-place-portland), only with more stores and more options for food, drink and entertainment. It is for many folks a one stop destination, a mall pretty enough to marvel at from any angle and with enough people day in and out for some quality people watching - all the makings of what a mall should be. As always, there is a abundance of stores for the ladies (Ann Taylor, Kate Spade, J.Jill come to mind) and just a handful for the guys (keeps things simple right?). Some of the specialty stores I dig are Brookstone and Trophy Cupcakes. There is even a Chase bank, which is probably a little too dangerous for those of us who need some money to blow it all at a mall. Then there is the AMC movie theater, an attraction that brings a lot of folks to the mall. There is stadium style seating and there are plenty of screens for folks to get their movie watching on. Ticket prices seem a bit high at $12 during the evening shows, but this is downtown Seattle and I expect nothing less. Lastly, the parking situation is somewhat of a fail. Street parking isn't much of an option and while the garage rates might feel like a buzzkill, I understand it's significantly more expensive to park in other parts of downtown. If your intent is to buy something at the mall, thankfully many stores offer parking validation. read more

I am a fan of the parking of this mall. The parking off of either 6th or 7th ave and Olive Way is a real deal for parking on the weekends. If you are parked over a Saturday or Sunday under 24 hours your parking is 10 dollars. If you park Sunday overnight into some of Monday like I did the parking was 15 dollars (some of Monday's cost and over 8 hours on Sunday etc). If you are staying at the Hyatt at Olive 8 like I did the valet parking there is 45 dollars a day. I parked here at Pacific Place for 2 nights and it was 25 bucks total. The stores in Pacific Place are a bit higher end and the mall has a nice decor to it. I liked the interior as it was open to the ceiling and an open feeling in general because of the way the layout leaves the middle of the mall like an atrium. read more

I'd say I visit Pacific Place at least a few times a month for visits to the theater, GameStop, and Barnes & Noble. It's a beautiful, clean mall that's relatively updated, unlike most of the malls I grew up around. I love that's it's centrally located downtown and has a pedestrian bridge to the flagship Nordstrom. Oh, and the natural light that spills from the ceiling? Yes! The AMC is great and the spread of food choices on the same floor allows for some options for drinks before seeing a flick--some local chains, some national. The shops tend me range strangely between hella high-end to kitchy wine shops, and your typical suburban mall suspects. For instance, Barney's New York and Tiffany's mixed with Victoria Secret, Something Silver, Francesca's, The Art of Shaving, etc. I've never found myself here actually shopping for clothes. A major downfall has been watching store after store leave Pacific Place without anything worthy taking its place. I've seen way more shops close and move out than new ones pop up in the past few years. I don't know what's going on there, but it seems like there could be an issue with keeping tenants. And that's not a good thing for customers. read more

This remodel is one of the worst I've seen. The mall feels cold/sterie. Worst of all are all the empty storefronts. There is very little reason to go inside. I hope I am proved wrong, but I don't think this shopping center will survive the 2020s. It's probably on it's last few years. The remodel will hasten it's inevitable fate. On a separate note, lots of stores are closing in downtown. Macy's, Forever 21 are gone. Barnes and Nobles is closing in early 2020. Most UPDATE Feb 2020 - This mall is getting sadder and sadder. Is there an option for a negative star review? J Crew is now gone, and there is a women's clothing store on the third floor that is also closing. I believe the mall has a total of four open stores. The Hot Pot place still has not opened (by the Nordstrom Skybridge). The renovation has ruined this mall. I will be surprised if any stores open this year. Perhaps, they should use the space for housing or offices. They've already opened up numerous remote work stations in the ground level, so maybe the management is also thinking that retail/restaurants will not work in this location. read more

Oh, Pacific Place. You are the Atlantic to my Pacific. Why you ask? Lululemon, Teavana, Barnes and Noble, Victoria's Secret. What more could a girl want? Basically, my schedule goes as so: Go to Lululemon to check out the sales. This location has especially good sales and friendly employees. Head over to VS to check out new mercy. Then hit Teavana for some not so friendly employees, but soothing tea. Then it's Barnes and Noble time for magazines. AHHH Relaxation. Let's just touch on the layout of the mall a bit more: I really like the openness in the mall. Even when it is crowded, it doesn't feel that way or like you are bumping into people. Rather than a rabid swarm of people rushing like water, it feels more like fish swimming around leisurely. Stores: The mall doesn't have too many stores. There are a couple more interesting retailers like BCBG, Bebe, Chicos (for the older folk), Express, and JCrew, but don't be expecting the slew of teeny bopper stores in this mall. Sephora is actually also in another location downtown as is The Gap and Old Navy. AMC Theaters is also located here! Score. Add movies to my perfect Pacific Place day list. Restaurants: here are a couple of interesting restaurants, but not too much. The Il Fornaio cafe is smack dab in the middle on the bottom floor. Red Mango is hidden in the basement (when I say hidden, I mean hidden). There is a Starbucks...DUH. And, a few other restaurants. A nice cuisine variety. Basically, Pacific Place is a pretty good mall. You can get a dab of shopping, some nice tea, and a relaxing afternoon. read more
