Really good selection of men's basics. Their house line of 14th and Union, Zella, and Abound to name a few are always very stylish and affordable. This location had a nice mix of low to mid range blazers for under $100. I appreciate being able to go here in a pinch for a button up and dress shoes. I wish there was a better selection of ties and pocket squares and watches. Service is a little sporadic and I have to seek out assistance. Staff work hard and I see that they are often slammed. So I went to the Nordstrom Rack for the first time in many years with my 10-year-old daughter. I went into the same dressing room that I always did which was previously marked women's but today I didn't check. Anyways, my daughter was undressing and I left the room to get a different size for myself and across the aisle was an old man half dressed in his stall with the door open and my daughter screaming "Mom!" that's when I realized that it is now an "all gender" dressing room. Next time I opened the door he was looking right in on us. Even men who aren't actively trying to take advantage of this policy, or maybe he was, are finding themselves right in prime opportunity to see near naked women and girls. She could have been trying on underwear. I called and was dismissed by the manager as "I'm sorry he did this to you". I said "no, this is a problem with YOUR system, if this happened to us in our first trip, how often do you think this happens?" This is not ok, they clearly have the means and space to separate the rooms. I don't care if trans women use the womens dressing room but I don't want men in the stall across the hall looking at my half naked 10 year old daughter. read more

I stepped in someone's reekin pee while trying to buy shoes. It had seeped into the dark carpet so it was visually undetectable.The aisle was 7.5 women's. I hobbled to the front holding my one sock, bought new socks and tried to go back in and buy shoes. I asked if a discount was possible for this crazy experience (it wasn't possible, the big boss wasn't in to give their say) but after all was said and done I was too grossed out to go through with the purchase. I've shopped here many times and me and my whole family have been fans of Nordstrom and this is the first time I've had such a freaky and disgusting experience here. Manager Ingrid assured they had cleaned the aisle yesterday, and the other staff were polite and understanding but this kind of thing isn't really a forseable issue that they could do anything about. This Rack is near my old neighborhood. I like how it's laid-out and I don't struggle to find items here. It's well organized and does have a decent selection of items that are "on-trend". I don't see a lot of salespeople asking if customers need help-- but I appreciate this. They're there and will help if I ask-- but I don't need people hovering over me while I shop. The only thing I really don't love is checkout. I always feel like the lines are longer and slower than they should be. --But who knows? Maybe I'm wrong. I ordinarily enjoy shopping here, but today I stood deep in a line of people being served by three molasses-slow cashiers. After a minute or so, I just suddenly realized I didn't want to throw away 20 minutes of my life waiting to give money to a place that didn't care about service or customers. Ahh actual retail pre-Covid-19. Remember those days of strategic browsing through the racks and shelves hoping to score with the perfect item on sale? Well since I lack the girlie girl shopping gene, my more fashion forward colleagues recommended that I head to the mall to get inspired for my upcoming Michelin starred restaurant experience. Got my haircut (remember actual salons?), got some makeup, got some jewelry to start off this process. So I decided to ease into this and checkout Nordstrom Rack first at what's left of Northgate Mall (2/8/20). I really dislike messy shopping areas, but exercised patience to see what potential finds to be had. I did find a cute sweater dress and omg actual black leather boots, both incredibly discounted. In, pay, go...my kind of shopping. I hate browsing, lollygagging, and definitely not dressing up for my upper Midwest dinner partner! As my flight date approached, I realized cute and stylish was not going to align with forecasted snow and frigid single digit temps. Practical and preventing frostbite were key. Back again to Nordstrom Rack (2/15/20), returned cute sweater dress without any issues. Determined to get a new winter coat instead. Major score, found a excellent quality Pendleton coat perfect for both travel and not freezing to death! Incredible deep discount too! A $600 coat for $180! Yeah, most people would do a quick winter getaway to some place warm like CA, HI, FL or even Mexico. This PacNW snow wimp travels to Milwaukee and Chicago during a major winter event. Go figure. It was effing bitterly cold! Cute dinner wear ended up being layered business garb. Leather boots and tights ended up being hiking boots and wool socks. The Pendleton coat was worth every sale dollar! Excellent quality for immediate and long term use. I appreciated the selection available at this convenient location. Professional staff at the registers on both visits. Guess this Yelper will save the boots for next season. But definitely ready for any future winter travel. Thanks Nordstrom Rack! read more

As a person that used to work there back in 2015, I could honestly say if there's management that don't treat their employees very well and the issue isn't resolved, of course the employees will not be happy to be there which will mean that the employees will quit & The company is going to be short staffed There's is one time I worked an inventory for eight hour shift and I was denied a lunch break. Other times I was talked down to because they were short staffed during that time and they didn't have enough employees so a lot of the workload was dumped on me and another person regardless if we are on an assignment or we were helping customer. I was on medical leave but didn't get accepted back and was terminated instead That is how that went. Nordstrom Rack Northgate is located downstairs from the food court. I stopped by this location with my husband and our little girl dog last week (yes all Nordstrom Rack & Nordstrom locations are dog friendly). With Nordstrom Rack locations, they are a hit and miss. You may find some really good deals on one visit but not the next (because someone else was able to snatch up that deal before you got there). On this visit, I thought it was pretty average. I thought the handbag section was rather slim pickings and lackluster. The watch and jewelry was very small and the shoes were not spectacular. If I lived in this area, I would probably come back for another visit, in hopes of finding something good. read more

I like the Rack, but there wasn't much of a selection for me when I came in. I was looking for women's clothing, specifically pants and a coat. They didn't have any pants in my size, and the few coats were either overpriced or not my taste. However, I know it's hit or miss regarding what will be available, depending on what gets sent to the Rack from the mother ship. The store was really clean. It's on the smaller size compared to the Rack locations in Lynnwood, Auburn and Tukwila. I was offered help a few times and the staff were all friendly. You don't get the upscale feel that you get when you shop at Nordstrom, but they carry great selections of items, including high end brands, at discounted prices. I went in to look for Paige jeans. The store was very well organized with jeans neatly separated in different piles by size. My size is usually not easy to find, but I was able to find my size and I was able to do so very quickly. The price was also amazing: $99.97 reduced from $199 (50% off). Alterations They provide alteration services on site everyday except Tuesday and Wednesday (same pricing as the Nordstrom, including free alterations with a Nordstrom credit card). On those two days, you can go to the Nordstrom store (in the same mall) to get the same service. Location I found it hard to find this store. It is on a lower level at the southend of Northgate Mall. If you are inside the mall, you need to go to the food court (southend) and take the elevator down. Conclusion I only bought jeans this time, but I would definitely check back occasionally. They had a good number of Ted Baker shirts, which you would not find other discount stores. The cashier asked me if I wanted a Nordstrom card because I could save $65 on my purchase. I declined because I don't actually need it. She was persistent and I asked what are the fees? What is the interest rate? She says no fees - doesn't cost to have one so I said okay. I received the card today and it absolutely does have an annual percentage rate of 25.9%!!!! What a scam!! Had to come in and return some flip-flops that I had bought about a month ago. I figured since it was Nordstrom or at least have that name attached to it that they'd be pretty understanding since I lost the receipt since it had been about a month. She basically told me that there is no proof that I ever purchased the shoes they're basically implying i felt like, that I stole them. After two more minutes of looking she found the purchase proof within the computer and refunded my card back. I even told her thank you very much and she was just so cold. I will never go back there again honestly I thought Nordstrom was better than that I haven't been treated that rudely in a while. Cannot say enough good things about the rack--I've been getting my dress shoes at Rack's for the better part of a decade and I'm always amazed how I can find $400-$500 men's dress shoes for 1/4 to 1/3 the price of Nordys! I recently discovered this place right after perusing the anniversary sale at Its full priced big brother at the other end of the mall.... I went from 6 to midnight when I found out they somehow had the latest model's from the current anniversary sale for even less than the sale price! Bruno Magli, Maginini and of course my personal American made favorite: Allen Edmonds. In short, I walked out the door with over $1700 in top brass dress shoes for about 400 Washington's. This place has gone downhill since they first took over the old Toys-R-Us space. I almost wish it were still a TRU. :( Before they had this awesome mobile pay option, where staff would walk back to the lines or through the store and CHECK YOU OUT THERE. It was awesome. The staff also seemed to be more plentiful AND helpful. I couldn't find anything for a gift for a man-- and I combed this store. I looked at underwear, accessories, the luggage, tech stuff... I did end up buying children's workout pants and a v-neck t shirt, but only because I had a gift card. I feel like there a tons of better price and selection options for boys, and definitely for men. Retains a few stars for decent beauty and women's shoes, accessories, and clothing. read more

I was so over my experience after just walking in the door. It felt more like Nordstrom "not on the rack". There were clothes everywhere: the floor, draped over equipment, barely hanging on hangers. And the clothes that were on hangers were not grouped or displayed well. The prices are so hit or miss. It you love it odds are it's still in the $100 range. Ugh. Was wanting to find some shoes for a youth and really didn't know where this place was. Found a parking spot near the regular Nordstrom store, and I tell you, it took us a while walking the mall to even find a mall directory to find out this place was located at the end of the mall, down a flight of stairs, and having it's own entrance from the main mall itself. I guess you don't want to kill the shopping by having the entrance within the mall and everyone flocking here? With every Nordstrom rack it is a hit or miss mentality you have to go in with, and don't go in with any expectations of exactly what you are going to find. I was trying to find a pair of size 5.5 kids shoes, with no luck, but did walk around and see what else was in store. Even being able to find this pink and white striped pair of Ferragamo's for my dear to try (no she didn't buy!) while I continued to look around. This store is a bit less chaotic than the one located right in downtown where the people went through it like Black Friday, but also I find the quality and selection of goods at the downtown store better than this one. Just be warned, if you are only coming here, find parking near the front door, cause if you're parked at the mall, you are going to have to go back up the flight of stairs, through the mall, and back to the car. I guess location does play a part in the type of 'stuff' you get... keep expectations low people, and you may walk out with something. read more

Compared to other Nordstrom Racks in the area this one has to be my favorite. Not only does it have parking, it's also pretty much attached to the mall in case you need to shop even more! The people that work here are LAZYYYYY. First she's like yeah we can help you but you have to get in line to check out which isn't true because they all can ring you out I've done it many times. Then I asked for an email receipt and she's like "oh to late for that, next!" And I'm like wow. In this day you should always do email and printed receipt or at least give your customer the option. The level of customer service between the rack and Nordstrom is about the same as the price differences- HUGE. read more

Today I waited in one of THE longest shopping lines I've been in. (Especially considering I only purchased 7 items; 5 of which I grabbed before entering said line ;) Once we had turned two corners in the line, an associate informed my section that we're only 15-20 minutes away from the cash registers, but everyone is spaced 6 feet apart which is deceiving, and they are disinfecting the checkout area after every customer. And they ENFORCE mask use and have hand sanitizer and plexiglass at each cash register) The Rack is doing a great job in keeping us safe while we shop. And through tomorrow, the ENTIRE store (including clearance which is up to 60% off) is 40% off, and all sales are final! I will always shop here. read more

This review is way overdue. The north gate location has the worst trained staff. Pre-Covid time the female manager was not sympathetic at all and did not know how to handle feedback. Nowadays with new recruits they don't know how to process the transaction accepting electronic gift cards using either a scan barcode or the rewards number with access code. The cashier wanted to see the physical card not electronic version and verify it belongs to me. This is the most ridiculous thing i ' ve heard in a long time. Plus if you are paying for the balance of merchandise with credit card they should have all info on file. Just for the records no one asks you to see your identification card to accept a credit card. The answer I got:"this is done to protect our customers ". This is why buying online is becoming a trend as there is no headache dealing with incompetent sales people. read more

I am extremely displeased with this location. I had a pair of really expensive jeans I brought back which were almost 100$. When I had got them I was out of state and the return policy was never explained to me. I searched frantically for my receipt only to find it had been emailed to me which I forgot about. I had the tags for my jeans they were worn once to try on and I had the receipt too. I showed the tag and jeans and receipt to the cashier and she said sorry we can't return these. The tag is off. Never even bothered to get me a store manager or anything . I asked for cooperates number and got store manager number. As someone who worked in customer service for 10 years I expected a lot more from Nordstrom rack. Maybe communicate your return policy to people next time who are spending money. Instead of telling them they are sol. Side note I bought them less than 2 weeks ago! My whole family shops at this chain store. None of us are going back. read more

This is primarily a heads up for Nordstrom's Rack shoppers. I do believe/hope these are unique situations - but worth noting. I had two transactions that were incorrect of late. First, yesterday at Nordstrom Rack/Northgate, I purchased two pair of boots. I was overcharged for both. I wouldn't think to look at my receipt, really - but happened to because I was concerned about the above below. The Manager that I spoke said they had a glitch in their system yesterday and markdowns were not being noted in the system. Check your shank against your receipt. Secondly, using my Nordstrom's Debit, on 2/2 I returned three pair of shoes at the Lynnwood Rack (where I'd purchased them two days before). I got a receipt for the return and thought all was fine. However, I never saw the credit in my bank account. Today I reached out to the credit card company and found that the credit transaction never went through (it was for $229!). I'm glad I retained my receipt. The Rack Manager was quick to assist, saying it popped up as an "incomplete transaction" on their end (however, I was concerned why someone wouldn't have reached out to me to rectify). *Note #2 - it's worth noting that when using your Nordstrom's Debit card - deductions from your checking account appear as a total for the day (and includes multiple purchases or returns which are then bunched together). This makes it far more difficult to double check, if need be. Lesson learned - I will now ask for a hard receipt, and keep better track. :) read more

Love it! I can't believe I've gone my whole adult life avoiding discount clothing stores. I am not a big fan of sifting through racks and bins for one garment that may or may not fit just to save a few bucks on an item from last season. BUT - Nordstrom Rack, you've won me over. On a recent shopping trip with a girlfriend I popped into this store and found myself in love with the jewelry case, the purse selection and the super cheap Tory Burch rack. Well organized and well staffed, this store didn't have that same icky feeling I've gotten at other stores in the past. No long lines, no piles of clothes on the floor or bins overflowing with mismatched items... In fact, the shoe selection here was awesome too! Basically the whole store was pretty great. I didn't buy anything but I spent a good hour looking at various items and contemplating their purchase. I'll be back again for sure. I'm sure they'll have adorable summer dresses soon. read more

I made a late night shopping trip in sweats. (I coach) A security guard followed me around the store! He went back into the shoe department where I was and lingered around me. I then went to the middle of the store to women's sale and he followed. He just stood near me. Then I made my way to the front of the store to look at more clothes. He was 5 feet from me! He thanked another customer walking through the door for coming in. When I finally left after feeling stalked he said nothing!!! I WILL NEVER support that Nordstrom rack! There were other customers there and the security guard stayed near me the whole 15 minutes I walked around the store. Disappointed. Angry. Upset. Hurt. read more

Pretty nice new Nordstrom Rack in Northgate. Parking is limited but you should be able to find a spot. Selection is limited as the store is not very big. The store boasts that you don't have to stand in line to check out if you're paying with a Nordstrom card. There was no one in a green shirt in the store to check out with so I had to stand in line anyway. Not a big deal but it seems like if you have this advertisement looping on your intercom that it should be true. I've taken advantage of the no-line checkout several times at the Alderwood location and it's great! Dressing rooms are nice. I love the Rack so I'll definitely be back! I'll probably still continue to go to the Alderwood one because it's bigger and has more stuff but I'll certainly come to this location as well. read more

I would estimate that 50% of my wardrobe is made up of brands I'd purchased at NR: Burberry, Allen Edmonds, Ferragamo, Ben Sherman, Prada, Hugo Boss, Fendi, French Connection, English Laundry, Thierry Mugler, Comme des Garçon, Lanvin, Topman, Missoni, Moncler, Montblanc, Paul Smith, To Boot New York, Zegna, Vilebrequin, Versace, Tom Ford, Santoni, Ted Baker, Issey Miyake, Hérmes, Dolce&Gabbana, etc. The staff is usually available for Q&A if I can't locate what I'm looking for. Every week there's a new shipment so I don't feel like I've already seen everything there is to see every time I go in.
