They said we would need to find a good architect for our project and are actually the ones that recommended Dan to us! Our project was for a Dadu on the footprint of the existing 15x30 garage and some renovations in our tiny 25x25 bungalow. He gave us 3 3-D mockups of the front space and great estimates of how much our different options would cost. His design suggestions were incredible with a back addition to move our staircase to the basement (now more living space) flow through the back of the house and add a new glassed in room that is truly the best room in our entire home! He was also integral to selecting our contractor (we did NOT go with hammer in hand who quoted 4x the price of everyone else we spoke to). We wanted to do a large portion of the work ourselves and Dan was very knowledgable all along the process and helped us find the help we needed and answer questions as they arose. He is a massive walking memory bank of knowledge in all things architecture and building based. We could not have asked for a better experience...and have highly recommended him to others including our neighbors!

He gave us 3 different layouts to choose from, each with computer generated 3-D images of the finished product. He listened to our feedback and came up with a final design that met our needs exactly. As the construction progressed, Dan was there on site, supervising the contractors, making changes as needed. Thank god he was there to make the decisions that only someone with experience and expertise (not us) could make correctly. He has an excellent eye, a thorough knowledge of materials and resources, and was able to keep us well under budget. Even though we live outside of Seattle, he was able to network with local businesses and use creative solutions to get us what we needed. He has been in touch since completion to make sure everything went as planned and spoke with the contractors a couple of times to get them back and make the needed adjustments. All in all, a fantastic job!!

I would be very careful trusting online reviews about this company. It seems like the positive…read morereviews on yelp and google come from recently opened accounts of family friends who obviously have little to no reviews. The reviews are also very vague with little to no details, which is consistent with fabricated reviews. We came in and asked for a quote on building some wood cabinets on our 28' constellation. Right off the bat, they were annoyed with us for dropping in unexpectedly without calling. When we parked in their gravel lot, a middle aged brownish blonde haired man came out and pointed at us saying "this isn't hospital parking you need to leave right now." We were stunned. I answered "we're not visiting the hospital...." I was annoyed with his attitude and gave him an attitude right back. It was ridiculous the way he greeted us with such hostility without even knowing why we were there. So what if we didn't call ahead? We were in the area and wanted to drop by because we wanted to know how much it would cost to replace the cabinets in our boat. Once he realized we were there to talk business he explained that their company has been there for nearly a hundred years and that a lot of people from UWMC and surrounding businesses park in their lot. "It's an ongoing battle we're sick and tired of" he says to us. Well guess what? That's not a very bright idea to translate your personal issues onto customers now is it?? What kind of business model is that? At that point we already knew there wasn't a chance in hell we would go with these guys. I'm sure the employee knew as well, which is why his tone continued to grow increasingly impatient when we asked for a quote. Granted, we only wanted a quote at that point to compare prices. He saw this as a waste of his time. "That's a small project and we're busy this time of year. Can't help ya." That was his answer, without seeing or visualizing what we were even asking for. Then he turned his back on us and went back inside. These guys make their money from wealthy loyal customers who understand that this is a rare niche to fill when it comes to wood boats. However, their ego and method of dealing with potential customers is inexcusable. What a disgrace.
