Their pine straw this year is a total mess. This place is hit or miss. What a waste of $400+ dollars. Do yourself a favor and order from somewhere else. You've been warned. I stopped using this company once before because they rarely have the long needle pinestraw. They seem to only have the worst looking short needle. I would never order from here again. Oh, and make sure they park that big yellow truck on the streets and not on your property.Their work truck is leaking oil. It stained my driveway. read more

Looked good at first but large internal areas were thin and by winter bare patches were showing. Worst of all, all the pinestraw they put down (several hundred bales) were contaminated by wild cherry tree seeds. I spent the next six months pulling up cherry tree seedlings. read more

I had ordered pinestraw from Northlake Pinestraw previously, but had not used their installation service. I did today and was VERY pleased with results. I could not be there when the installers were there, but left a sketch of our house and property which they followed exactly. My house and yard look great! Everything was neatly and completely done, and I didn't see a single pinecone or stick within the pinestraw. Well worth the $2/bale installation charge to me at this time! read more

After waiting weeks and weeks for my landscaping company to come through with a booked pinestraw job, I finally started looking to have someone else complete it. I really rely on yelp, so I was a little hesitant to book Northlake Pinestraw as there just weren't very many reviews. I booked a straw install appointment with them about a week out from my call, and actually at a time I would be out of town. Risky, as I usually like to be home when things like this are implemented, to be able to direct the crew, and to insure quality service. But since I had waited so long for my landscaping company, and since many of my plants were suffering due to moisture evaporation, I went ahead and booked. NP let me send an email with install instructions, and I just hoped it would be forwarded and followed...When I got back in town, the install looked great!! I have a lot of plants, vegetables, groundcover, and they did a great job of treating those delicately and installing appropriately. I also had some specific install instructions that were clearly followed. Sure, there were a few spots where I had to get straw off of liriope and tuck it more under some hydrangeas, but overall, I was EXTREMELY pleased. Good job! I will use them again! read more

Booked service against my better judgment, as I needed installment after working hours or on Saturday. Office manager assured me they could work within a lunchtime schedule. I reconfirmed this with the office twice and when the call came the day before to confirm service, the same office manager had no clue about my time slot for arriving - although discussed several times. I should have cancelled then. None the less, I took off work and waited 3 hours. I was told there was one delivery prior to mine, only 25 bales and was assured of arrival by 12:15. Driver finally called & stated he was 10 minutes out, but he had no idea I was on a schedule and had to leave. No one had communicated my scheduling concerns. I had a business meeting that day and had to leave, supposedly after the install. They show up just as I am about to drive off. I give brief instructions and hoped for the best. I came home and the work had been done, but I had the pleasure of going around my entire yard and uncovering all the plants, ground cover and new bulb growth that had been covered and deeply mulched. Frustrated, the owner took no responsibility and stated they arrived within the 3 hour window. Absolutely indifferent. Could have cared less if he lost the business. read more
