Just moved from PHX to ATL in June 2021 and bought a 1.4 acre property that needs a lot of landscaping work. We got a glowing in-person review from one of their customers who graciously allowed us to see the work done on their home. We also got a reasonable quote so we decided to go with Infantry Landscaping over other options. What followed was being strung along for two months just to get a date for a survey... which we never got. We agreed to do our yard in stages, and agreed on price for the first stage, which was cutting down all the trees, but needed 2 things done before placing a deposit: (1) a survey done on the property to demarcate the property lines (the previous owner had only fenced about 90% of the property), and (2) approval from the city of Atlanta to cut down trees. Infantry said they would schedule the surveyors for us, and handle the city approvals for us. Everything was fine up until receiving and approving the estimate, but things fell apart when trying to establish a timeline. Everything was "Yes! Yes sir! Absolutely! I'll contact Jose right now! Jose will call you tomorrow! Jose will call you today! Bad signal, I'll call you right back! We'll be there tomorrow! Ya, we can do that!" With zero follow through. They commit, then no one calls back, and no one shows up. The experience was very unprofessional. Why waste your client's time with a "Yes, we'll be there tomorrow afternoon," only to not show up? Or "I'll get you the date tomorrow," only to not do that, and not even call back with a reason why. Customers understand when you're busy, or if there are delays, so why not just be forthright? I get the impression that they overcommit to projects, and then select the projects they'll give attention to and ignore all the others. I also get the impression that they never contacted a surveyor, and didn't want to tell me until they had, but they never did so I just kept getting the run around. Jose and his team at Infantry Landscaping did an amazing job on our backyard and front patio! We have a sloped backyard with a lot of dead grass and dirt and every time it would rain it would become a muddy mess that flooded the crawl space/basement area under the house. We desperately needed a new drainage system and a full overhaul of our entire backyard. We ended up getting new drains, a new flagstone patio, the retaining wall was pushed back and redone, the yard was grated and new sod was laid, and the car parking area was redone. They also put flagstone down at our front entrance patio which was previously made up of these big, uneven stones that were difficult (and dangerous) to walk on. The Infantry Landscaping team worked very quickly and did a beautiful job. There were usually 4 or 5 guys here each day, so they were able to get a lot done and still be very detailed. Jose worked with us the entire way to make sure we were happy and satisfied. He was very easy to work with if I needed anything changed or had any questions. We're so happy to have all this space back now! Once our patio and dining furniture arrives it will be our new entertaining space. The most important test, though, were the drains and after two days of intense rainfall (including some hail) our basement was completely dry and the water drained off of the patio perfectly. Overall these guys do great work. Hire them to wrap our dated concrete stoop in grey flagstone, along with leveling steps. They showed up on time, and worked 13 hours to be sure the job was done. Was extremely impressed. Most landscaping guys show up at 10am, take an hour lunch, then leave by 4:30pm. These guys worked hard to get it done. Then, as promised, came back to clean up and pressure wash. Looks fantastic and well priced. Reason for 4 stars - it was a bit of a struggle to get the actual quote and schedule the job as others have mentioned. Jose was awesome when he came by - he gave me tons of confidence in their work. However... I had to really drag the estimate out of him through many follow ups and also had to follow up multiple time to get the job scheduled. Was a bit of a pain. I am chalking this up to very high Covid demand. Would very much recommend these guys and will use for future projects! read more

I have used this business for over a year for regular yard maintenance and a couple small projects. They consistently lack in communication despite promises on improvement. They are very hard to reach by phone and it usually takes multiple emails to receive a response. Every other week I typically get an email notification saying my yard will be serviced the next day however, it is 3-5 days later that they typically show up without any updated communication. They also tend to show up on non-mowing weeks as well which results in extra charges. We have had many incidents where the crew showed up and figured out a way to unlock my yard gate from the inside and once where our dogs were let out. The owner did apologize and provide free services from that incident with promises of improved communication. We did see improved communication for about 3 weeks and then it dropped off again. I also recently used them for a small landscaping project. The project was scheduled by the business and then they no showed without communication. After reaching back out twice and then finally asking to cancel, I was miraculously told they would show the next day. I also attempted to reach out with some small concerns after the project was completed however I received no response. I wish the best to this company and hope they are able to improve their practices in the future but at this time will no longer be using or recommending to friends/community. **Update** - after this review the company did reach out and correct the landscaping issues. read more

Update: Dropping Infantry Landscaping - completely unreliable, inconsistent service. Over the last few months, drastically gone downhill. Jose (business owner), the office manager and staff do not respond to calls, texts or emails. Go weeks without any update or the crew bothering to show up for service. Called the office today asking if there was any date this week they'd be able to come out to do our yard service, as they completely missed last week. Office manager was pleasant and said she'd respond shortly. Crickets, no call. I call back, about to leave a voice message and get a text IMMEDIATELY that she's on the line with another client and she'd call me right back. Nada, zip, nothing. Email Jose days ago asking if the crew would come out since they didn't show for over a week. Radio silence. But, look at their instagram and facebook pages and you'll see them showing all the grand landscaping and hardscape projects they're doing. They just ignore their regular customers they bill for weekly service. (Edit: after this review went up, I got a text that they'll be out Wed to complete the work -- and not charge me. While a good gesture, they keep missing weeks and fail to be reliable or consistently reply. Too little, too late). Tired of inconsistent and unreliable no-shows. I have a job. It's not to beg others to show up so I can literally GIVE THEM MY MONEY to do what they said they would do. Nevermind the times I asked Jose for additional landscaping projects we wanted, or a new hardscape firepit area. He and his staff do not respond. So I give my money to the people that show up. I hate to say it, as when they bothered to reply and show they were good. I want to give my money to (and support) a military veteran-based business. But Infantry Landscaping is completely unreliable. I had 3 other neighbors using them, who proceeded to drop them because of the same reasons. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt but this is a mess of a business. Please note I did not get a chance to work with this business, rather this review is based on obtaining a quote for what I needed. Based on some of the reviews I shouldn't be shocked, but the ones about not being responsive are accurate. I initially reached out to them for a quote on land surveying and concreting for my backyard. That set-up was easy. I was responded to and the person who went out let me know when he was there on the scheduled date. I haven't yet moved into my house and was told by my realtor that I received a neighbor complaint about my grass, so while the person was there I asked about that cost as well. Later on that night I did receive a quote, but it was only for landscaping. When I texted the person about the original quote for surveying and concreting, I was left on read. Came back on here to the messages to ask the same thing and was also left on read!! How rude! A response, even not accepting the job or saying they couldn't provide the original quote or SOMEthing would've been more acceptable than this. They don't have 4 stars for no reason, so I'm sure their work is good, but unfortunately I'll never get the chance to find out for myself. We had a nightmare situation on our hands and Jose with Infantry Landscaping saved us. In February, we had a different landscape company walk off their job at our property. They ruined our driveway, our front and back yards, and caused many issues with flooding and puddling. We had quotes from multiple 'landscape professionals' and none of them got back to us as our project seemed overwhelming. Then, Jose took the job. Thank goodness. His attention to detail and willingness to listen to our needs was fantastic. Bamboo and waste removal, tree removal, new grading, new fence, new driveway, new brick patio, new natural stone front steps, new drainage, mulch and clean shrubbery. No joke, these guys are awesome. Jose and his team took a Scrubby Pine Straw Nightmare and turned our yard into a Black Rubber Mulch Paradise! I found him via Yelp's "Request a Quote" feature. Out of six bid requests, Jose was the ONLY ONE who not only responded to me within the hour, but came the SAME DAY to do a bid... wearing A MASK! His bid was not the least expensive, but we chose his company for three main reasons: 1. I could sense that Jose was reliable, responsive, and trust-worthy. I had no issue giving a deposit for 25% (materials) and would have even done 50% (as is often the standard). 2. He promised that we would do a final walk-through, he would make sure it looks amazing, and he was not going to "nickel and dime" me for little things. 3. Lastly, Jose is a veteran of the Army. Thus, the name "Infantry Landscaping." Anytime we can support America's home-based vets, we should. Jose and the team was professional and hard-working, and the end result speaks for itself. We recently hired Infantry landscaping to redo our backyard. What started as a simple project of extending and bricking our backyard patio turned into that plus two gorgeous retaining walls, an outdoor kitchen, a complete overhaul of our front and backyard landscaping equipped with landscape lighting, and a pergola installation. Jose is incredibly customer oriented and easy going. We immediately felt comfortable with him and because of that, just kept adding on to our project. He is an absolute work horse! What I loved about working with him, was if I felt something just wasn't what I had envisioned, he made me feel comfortable enough to voice that opinion and immediately either re-did it or amended it to achieve my vision. It was so nice to work with a team where I didn't feel the need to walk on eggshells. Additionally, we felt his pricing was very competitive for the level of service/craftsmanship we received. Trying to be fair here. Hence, the two stars. I really wanted things to go well with them. Told the owner that I will be writing a not positive review to give him a chance. No response. Hired them to out down weed blocker in the front and top with mulch, weed blocker in the back under the deck and freshen the pine straw, fill sink holes with top soil and remove ivy in the backyard. They gave me a price and I accepted. A week went by and it was my day to have the work done. We met again that morning and went over the work one more time for him to remember. I then went to work for the day. When I returned home late that afternoon the most was put down but no weed blocker. I call the owner since I could not effectively communicate to the workers on site and he said they had to go to home depot to purchase. Why when they bring everything at the same time is beyond me and he was only intended to do the backyard and kept telling me the front yard is not necessary. I told him I would like to get what I requested and paying for paying for. They Work till 10:00 p.m. That evening in the dark. The next morning I saw the work was still not done. I assume they would be back badge day to finish. When I got home from work that day nobody was at my place. I call the owner and he said they were finishing work somewhere else trying to finish everything in one day to visit me the next day. I told him even nice to know that and he could have let me know at some point versus me calling him. When they returned for the 2nd time to complete my job I received a text that afternoon saying they were done. I returned home that evening to find Ivy roots still in the ground and The main sinkhole dirt was the cheapest topsoil they must have found. Filled with rocks and he knew I wanted to grow grass. When they power washed my cycle walk they left lines all over the cement. They did come out the next day and picked out rocks But left me still with tons of work. Defeats the purpose of hiring of what I thought was a professional landscaper. read more

Jose and his team turned our landscape rock yard into a very beautiful brick patio! Jose was incredibly responsive and his team got the job done beautifully and in only a few days. They were the only group to take on our complicated design. We had an overall great experience and definitely would like to work with him again. The only negative note would be that the job didn't really get totally finished... there were a few gaps where grout sand wasn't fully settled in. Jose told us that he would return to add more sand/ensure it was settled completely, but it's been several weeks without an update. I'm sure he got busy but it would be great to have that last finishing touch to make the patio complete. A few plants are starting to peek through the cracks. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! Totally unprofessional,  disorganized, and untrustworthy. I went through the proper channels to schedule a quote, got a confirmation and then nobody showed. That's right-no call, no show! I text the number as my appointment window was nearing to an end. The message was "read" but no response. This was July 3rd. The appointment was confirmed June 24th at 11: 19 am EST. Today is July 26, and at the time of writing this, still no estimate.  I called the company and a message was left for Jose (I apparently spoke to the brother). I was assured Jose would reach out and he did later that evening.  He promised to personally come by to assess what we wanted done and provide us an estimate the following morning. That was a week ago.  Needless to say an estimate still has not been provided despite multiple repeated attempts to obtain one. Guys- if it's this hard to get an estimate,  I can only imagine how hard it would be to nail down a time for them to actually do the work. I am especially disappointed by Jose and his empty promises and because he is the lead of this operation,  I can't help wonder how terrible the work product is. Similar to a few other reviews, communication wasn't perfect. There were a few periods of fairly long radio silence between the estimate and receiving a payable invoice and then between that and getting a date scheduled. I did have to call a few times to request an update. However, once Jose and his team were on site, they did a phenomenal job building my fence, months sooner than anyone else I spoke to said they could do it, and for a lower price than anyone else. Some rain forced them to reschedule to a date that I would be out of town and Jose FaceTimed me several times throughout the day for updates to make sure the job was being completed the way I wanted it. It's possible he has more business than he can deal with, but either way very poor service. I have since received many other quotes and have the job planned. I would suggest you all do the same. From the moment they got here they were professional & got to work on operation "Jungle removal" my backyard was in bad shape and overgrown.
