The individual rooms in which to wander are made magical as the shelves are marked using old Scrabble tiles. This is because the owners are super-dooper creative. As well as knowledgeable and hospitable. And funny. They share their sweet dog Coda with each guest and to this date she hasn't tinkled on a single customers shoe! However I think the owners should teach her to do that for the few shoplifters that have sullied the place. The kids room is amazing and each child that finds the secret room is transported to a magical place all their own. As a member of the senior crowd I'm VERY grateful for the neatest, most creative bathroom in the entire town! My first visit there it was the FIRST room I needed to find. As I sat there meditating to the sound of the clapping of one hand I just KNEW I was in for a treat with the rest of the store and I sure was! Besides the great selection of books (which I think are priced almost too low) you can find a few collectible/antique offerings as well as other goodies like snacks and greeting cards. Take the kids and wander in. I promise you won't be disappointed. But be prepared...they are located right next door to McDonald's.

In our most recent visit there, we only found one item. When we took it up to purchase, the cashier told us that they would soon start charging people for using their credit cards. This was really disappointing. We will probably stop shopping there now that I know this. Who carries around a bunch of cash around in this day and age? This new policy of penalizing people for the convenience of using a credit card seems like a sure fire way of deterring and alienating customers. Also, my husband who is good with finances likes to use credit cards to be able to budget and keep track of our purchases, so he's not enthusiastic about returning.
