It's a convenient place to grab dinner and a drink when staying at the Landmark, especially if you don't want to drive somewhere, or trudge up and down the hilly downtown streets after a day on the road. I ordered a tap beer from a Michigan brewery--it was quite good. To eat I decided to try their take on a whitefish sandwich (something I had at a number of other restaurants as I toured the UP). This one was the most unique in their use of bread and butter pickles for crunch and acid. I found it a bit messy but tasty. My companion (who chose a burger instead) did not care for them at all on his sandwich. They do have a unique taste. Enjoy if you like them, or ask the kitchen to adjust the toppings. Which I would hope they get right--unlike my fries. I specifically asked for regular fries but my plate came with sweet potato fries. When the server checked in I called it to her attention and she said she would get me regular fries right away. Well, they never came. When she brought the checks I pointed out the error again. She did apologize and took a few bucks off the bill. I don't know if she was to blame or if the kitchen dropped the ball. At least she what she could to atone for the goof. (Also worth noting, there was an error on my companion's bill that needed correcting too.) So, be sure that your order and check are right! Beyond these glitches, it was okay. read more

A great small bar inside the quaint Landmark Hotel. A limited many, with some great choices. Friendly bartenders, too. I really enjoyed the blackened salmon salad. Most of the seating is bar height, so you might want to go elsewhere for more regular seating. read more

We ordered lunch via Door Dash...two Northland Butter Burgers and a side of seasoned tots. The burgers were great! Quality beef (homemade qualities), interesting toppings (pickled onions, sweet pickles, secret sauce, white-cheddar), and a brioche bun, which I think may have been grilled. 5+ stars for the burgers. The seasoned tots...and I love a tot...were perfectly crisped and a tad too seasoned. Delicious nonetheless...4 stars for the tots. I'll add that they are also adept at the take out accessories...napkins, cutlery, ketch, mustard...we wanted for nothing. We had cooled on the Northland Pub over the last few years, but the burgers won us back for sure! read more

Typically, we do not frequent hotel restaurants as we have had less than stellar experiences. However, this is the black sheep of hotel restaurants. Northland Gastropub is AMAZING! We devoured the two appetizers we ordered, and we wish we would have stayed here for dinner. The steak poutine is a MUST and TC bruschetta was perfectly balanced. When we return to Marquette, we will most certainly stop at Northland. read more

Haven't used yelp in quite some time. Lost my old yelp account due to my lost pocket book of emails and passwords. Hotel food is usually trash. This hotel had decent food. Wasn't anything to write home to mom about. Can't say this hotel food is trash. I only ate the fish when I went there over the summer. Not too keen on fish but I gave it a shot. Was good. Heard it was a local fish. Don't remember much, it had been so long ago. Will try other items so I can give a real rating. Thanks to all you hard workers. I know summer can be busy with tourism. Who actually eats at hotel restaurants when they live in the same town as the hotel. This place does have a special feel to it. Wish they did a lunch. They open later than most restaurants. Lack of employees? Who's to say. Marquette is a wonderful town and I'm proud to live here. Thank you god for the most unique part of America! read more

first of all this bar is called landmark. don't call it northland. please join me not using it's terrible name and instead calling it by the iconic hotel it's housed in. Second of all, this bar/pub is new to me and it's now my new favorite in MQT. They have a late night food menu (just chips and salsa and burritos but still) that serves until 12pm. as far as i have experienced it's basically the only place you can get a bite and a drink in downtown MQT after 10pm except here. both my experiences at the bar were awesome, great service, knowledgeable bartenders. can't wait to visit again. read more

Are negative reviews possible? (this being said, i am no fan of yelp) the bartender messed my order up (which i was willing to look the other way on) then charged me an extra $10. Upon my bringing up my issue essentially told me told me to go screw myself over his mistake (again, all i did was ask him to refund my purchase on his mistake... Stuff happens - i get it) naaahh, dude made it my problem. Then asked me to come back in order to give him more money in the future. I payed $17 for 5 shitty chicken wings (bartenders mistake) only for me to respectfully (and out of view from customers) asking the bartender to deny refunding him messing my order. This place can get packed because it's beloved. The wait for food can take a little bit but good when it gets to you. The fish fry is good, Bloody Mary bar is good, live string music very enjoyable. Child/family friendly. Good drinks and bar staff. Can host larger party in the upper dining room for rent I believe. For what it is, a public house, it's pretty good. read more

The Northland Pub used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Marquette. They closed for a time during COVID and when they reopened the menu changed significantly and the quality of the food decreased drastically. It is so disappointing. read more

We love northland Pub. The food and service are great. We love the Brussels sprouts sprouts and Buffalo chicken cauliflower appetizers. For dinner I ordered the Caprese burger, twice. The first time, I asked for medium well. When I cut into it the entire inside was a deep pink, and for me practically mooing. After sending it back to get cooked more, it came out perfect the second time. The combination of the tomato, burger, fresh Mozzarella, basil and a balsamic drizzle on the top bun was delicious. I wish they would have given you more sauce, or sauce to dip it in but it was still a very good burger. Nice selection of beer and liquor. Wine list was a little sparse but they offered the basics. Very reasonable prices. Very clean. Good service. The food was also very reasonable and the portions were large. The Meatloaf, Chicken Marsala and the Chefs Salad were all delicious. Recommended. read more

We were visiting from Indiana and stayed in Munising. We came to Marquette a couple times to bike and we stopped here for lunch not once but twice. Food and service was excellent! Everything tasted fresh and from scratch. No pics the first time because I forgot but the first time we stopped we ordered the Guinness burger and the whitefish po boy. The burger was cooked perfectly with a ton of flavor. The Guinness caramalized onions on top were delicious. The po boy was so fresh and tasty. The second time we ordered their cheese curds, an order or beer battered fries, and fried whitefish. Crazy good! Did I mention their beer is ice cold and refreshing? It was! The place is a little small, but it is attached to a hotel so thats understandable. However the space is well utilized and it didnt feel cramped at all. Great spot. It's cozy for lunch, but can be a hopping bar later in the evening. (It gets a little loud, but is tolerable). Our service has always been awesome- even with larger groups. Beautiful old world Pub Style Bar. Very friendly bartender and made an excellent Brandy old-fashioned. I ordered the patty melt medium rare and unfortunately it came out close to well done. However it was still pretty tasty and a very large side order of fries. The bread for the sandwich was dried out. I basically ate the burger and sauteed onions with cheese and pushed the bread aside. If I'm ever in Marquette again I will probably give it another try. read more

We came on a recommendation, each of us excited to try something new. Unfortunately we were nonplused with what came out of the kitchen. The pizzas were a bit pricey for being so small. The "poutin" is an approximation of the traditional dish with liquid nacho cheese, no cheese curds or gravy, and pork rinds instead of fries. The duck salad sounded delicious, but surprised me with deep-fried duck pieces, super strong dressing, and very plain iceberg lettuce. Yikes. The whitefish dip was baked and tasted like lemon with no trace of smoke or fish. And the fish tacos sounded like a fresh option but turned out to be deep-fried as well. None of this would have been an issue if their menu stated all the details of the dishes, but it didn't. The menu gives you the impression that you are ordering a fresh, non-fried, non-liquid-cheese, not baked dish and delivers something else. Overall I'd give this place a miss and try somewhere else. Two stars might be a bit generous. read more

This is the more casual eatery of the two at The Landmark. The bar itself is welcoming and has a lot of decor to look at, and the food was excellent. The portions are huge, so an appetizer is enough for a meal for one person. The sante fe salad had generous toppings and the cilantro vinaigrette is now on my list of favorite dressings. My husband got chicken tenders, fries, and cheese curds, and they were all great. Our friend go the nacho plate, and which they were also very good, the topping to chip ratio was a bit off (way too many chips). The Greek wrap looked and tasted decent and the tzatziki sauce was perfect. This is our favorite place to meet every Monday with friends. They host a trivia game where guests can win pub prizes. Sarah is usually our server and she is excellent. She remembers our favorite drink orders and always makes sure we are well taken care of. The food is also quiet great! We'll get the pub wing with fries and local beer, making a mighty fine Monday. We stopped by the Northland Pub as tourists exploring the UP. A boat captain at the harbor made the recommendation to try it out, and we did so for an after dinner drink. This is a smallish restaurant/bar with excellent service and great views.
