Note, i already signed the lease agreement and the property manager brought up that she forgot to add on two charges. So, she added them on. . WoW! first mistake. Knew that day it was going to be they did not care about you, just chasing MONEY! I also had issues trying to get repairs done, three, to 4 days after creating the ticket to get a maintenance person over to fix it. The first time, maintenance showed up he did not knock, he walked in then announced himself. Again, No respect for the renter! I called the office to let them know i had mice in my house, i bought mouse traps. The office told me to go around the house to see where they are coming in at and open a ticket. That's my job?? So, they do not want to pay for maintenance they want you to take care if it free of charge. I lived with mice until i finally had enough and broke the lease. I swore to myself DO NOT EVER RENT AGAIN! I bought my home, I could of before i rented from this management company but thought i wanted a break and live a little more ease. MCG could not give me that! I lived with mice and they did not like the idea of a not cleaned stove and the shower was not fully cleaned so they took 90 bucks from me. I had an unbelievably bad experience with CJ real estate as a property managent company for a…read moreperiod of ~2 years. We unfortunately trusted them to manage our property when we moved out of state and wanted to rent our home out. Not only were they unprofessional in communication, they simply negelected responsibility, literally no-showed multiple consecutive city inspections, resulting in legal action that came as a complete surprise to us as owners. Move-out inspection reports were incomplete and misleading, left out significant details such as burn marks on the carpet and excessive large trash items left behind by tenants both inside and outside ($700 worth of removal). These details are not inclusive of all events. Throughout the entire 2 years we worked with them, they avoided and simply refused accountability every step of the way. In no way do I recommend trusting this group with your property if you care about it. I will anticipate the company commenting on this review to "clarify" details, amounting to further avoidance of accountability. As a response to Heather, I believe it is disappointing to see public critique. You and CJ real estate beyond disappointed us, and your "clarifications" are unwelcome. Everything that they say that I have not furnished I can see it . I'm not sure what's going on but I am truly feeling like I'm being discriminated against . No one in the office is willing to return my call nor are they willing to give me an answer on why it's taking as long as it is to get a approval or denial for the duplex . There are other reviews floating around that that shows I am not the only one that they have done multiple multiple times to other perspective tenants. The value of the place is a little bit higher than other properties with the same amenities and square footage . I like this place because it had a much quieter neighborhood . I would much rather do business with a company that is willing to communicate with prospective tenants and not make up things to prolong the weight to see if they are approved. I lived there almost 3 years, never a late payment ever. Always let them know when something…read morewasn't working and they responded quickly. An ongoing problem was my front door wasn't opening. I would have to use my back door. One day I noticed that every room in my duplex was buckling and caving in. The floor between my living room and dining room buckled so badly I tripped over it. I immediately took pictures and informed them. It took 4 months of people coming in and out to fix that. 2 weeks later, my front door didn't open again. I let that go. One night my sister was visiting me and the temperature was-10 degrees and my old, old, old furnace stopped working! It was around 10 pm when I finally called the emergency number provided to me. No response. Called again and left a message. Got a call from Teresa Penner telling me to never call again with a tone in my voice. I asked what tone? I don't have heat! I asked why do you have an emergency number when there is noone coming out, it goes straight to you? 4 days later the furnace was replaced because it wasn't working! From that moment on I was treated poorly. I wanted to move out and informed them. I was told to break the lease I had to pay $500 for "release fees "and pay the next month rent, which I did. I paid February's rent, which had been raised through the years to $1115 , and turned in the keys February 14. I paid the $500 "release fee". I asked to be kept up to date. I wasn't. Finally got a response that there were major repairs that had to be done. Again asked, what repairs...no response. What major repairs? Lifting the house, putting braces under the house, digging 30 feet deep to do that are major repairs that I went through for 4 months. What major repairs are left? Again, nothing. I left that house so clean. They informed me they would be there February 17 at 8:30am to do the final walk through. I couldn't make it due to job and very short notice. Heard nothing about what happened, although I kept asking. They finally rented it March 17th, 1 month and 4 days later. I now owed for March rent. I asked why it took so long to rent. Again, no response. Waited to get some kind of return on my deposit. They waited just long enough to charge me for 17 days, which they took from my deposit. Received a letter from them with pictures trying to explain why I would not get a single dollar back from my deposit, but claiming I now owe them $45! I paid a full month rent, only there 14 days, paid $1050 deposit, received nothing from that, paid them $500 for "release fee", left the house clean and I get absolutely nothing back from my deposit and I owe them $45!!!. Please stay clear of this company because they only care about the owners. Renters are not important at all. So sad because owners are nothing without renters and that company is nothing without happy renters. Please stay clear of any property that is managed by Penner Property.

Out of nowhere, we received a "non-renewal of lease" email with no explanation. When my wife reached out for clarification, the company refused to provide details and wouldn't allow us to speak directly with the property owner. They vaguely mentioned that this usually happens if a property is being sold or transferred to new ownership. However, the same property we were forced to leave is now back on the rental market. We explained that this was an especially difficult time for us--our wedding and the start of graduate school fell during the same month they expected us to move out. We asked for an extension (30, 60, or 90 days--anything would have helped), but instead of receiving a phone call, we got a text message denying our request. The lack of professionalism and compassion was incredibly disappointing. As a result, we had to scramble to move and spend thousands of dollars unexpectedly. Thankfully, we've since found a property management company that offers far better communication and customer service. We will never rent from KC Hime Rental again, nor would we recommend them to anyone.
