My lease is ending this month, she start calling and threating me that I did not sigh the 30 day notice that she never sent to me. Very rude and unprofessional for elderly employee, looks like she never worked with people or had any legal experience as a management position. Because I have total legal right to send my own 30 day notice, that I did and have all proofs on hands. I had some routine issues during lease, but never received such awkward behavior as I had from Jennifer. We actually live at another property - Burbank Gardens. But we had a maintenance issue over the weekend and the patrol sent us a gentleman from Northridge Gardens. This is the same family of buildings. Vincent J. went above and beyond! We thought we'd be stuck without any water in the kitchen because our old faucet broke. Not only did Vincent fix the issue in a timely manner, but he actually upgraded our outdated faucet to a new one! Can't thank him enough! These properties really care about their residents and address the maintenance issues quickly and efficiently! Highly recommend! read more

We've living here for almost 4 years now and i believed it's time to move-out! This is ONE out of THREE worst experience to this apartment. On 5/21/19 Leasing office reached me and telling me that we need to move-out as soon as possible due to there is a water leak from 3rd floor to our unit (1st floor) that need to be fix for 1 WEEK. I called our Travelers insurance (all tenant required to get apt. insurance worth $26/m) to file a claim and help us to find a hotel that close to my 8 years old son school. I find out that our insurance have $500 deductible, i give a call the leasing office to tell about the deductible and the leasing office CONFIRMED that they will give us reimbursement as long we have the receipt (see attached email thread). After 6 days we are able to get back to the unit (5/27/19). On 6/1/19 monthy bill was received without credit, i reached out the leasing office regards the credit and they said they working it out and they asking me to send the Utility bill (for 6 days credit purposes) and Claim info such as, phone# & email of the contact person, Claim# and All copy of receipt which is i provide everything. On 7/1/19 monthly bill was received WITHOUT any credit. i sent another email to remind them regarding my Utility credit and my $500 reimbursement and they response that they still working it out and asking for apology for the delay (see attached email thread). On 8/1/19 monthly bill was received and still the same, NO LUCK! after many back and forth emails, they finally told me that they cannot cover the $500 deductible. Seriously?? Do we really need to spend extra $500 because of the apartment messed? That's not our (tenant) fault and Management should cover that?! Now i decided to deduct the $500 from 8/1/19 monthly rent bill. Today, monthly rent bill was received for 9/1/19 due (see attachment). guess what.. they include the $500 that i deducted last month WITH $47 extra with total amount of $547. It looks like do we need to pay our September bill WITHOUT any credit BUT with Penalty? I am totally frustrated! Three months of begging for $500 reimbursement and Utility credit that we deserved and they don't care! WE ARE SO UPSET AND DISSAPOINTED FOR BEING THREATED UNFAIRLY. read more

My apartment unit was nice and spacious; new carpet, central a/c and laminated kitchen floors. Lots of students from CSUN so it can be noisy at times. Make sure you get a unit that isn't next to an entry door (especially the back door) as the door(s) slam shut all day and night long. Management on-site during business hours (Trevor) is super friendly and on top of things. Some drawbacks; managing company (Garden Communities) lag in response and they use a 3rd party vendor for sewage and trash (Conservice) which is garbage itself. I had an issue fearing for my safety and called the leasing office letting them know to please send someone up ASAP to help because some crazy person was pounding down the door trying to get in and wouldn't leave but they (the people in the leasing office) never came to help. Apartments are roach infested. Many neighbors have bed bugs. Washers and dryers never work and are too expensive!!! They up the price without notifying! Parking spots are tiny. I feel like I'm paying too much for the facilities to constantly be out of use :/ laundry machine is constantly broken along with jacuzzi and elevators. When the card machines broken & I go to Lassen Village, there's no ones there to let me in. Not to mention my roommates and I won a competition to get our apartment furnished & northridge Gardens refused to let it happen. We are broke college students so yes I'm still salty about that. After spending what seemed like too long on looking for a decent place to live with comparable prices here in the valley, I stumbled upon Northridge Gardens, after calling and speaking with Kristen, I was immediately taken with her professionalism and kindness. wow a She made me feel so welcome. We scheduled an appointment for a tour, and I fell in love with the common areas and the unit itself. After living here for two months I still love it. Of course it's apartment life, you'll hear neighbors and all that jazz. There are cleaning crews almost every day, this complex is not left unattended or in disarray in the slightest. Very fast and effective staff, clean grounds, perfect location. 2/14/2020 I decided to update my review after a change in staff and maintenance. The maintenance crew Alex, Max, Roberto, and of course David are very prompt, knowledgeable, organized and friendly. The new office staff Trevor and Jada is efficient and has begun implementing improvements to the property. It shows they care and are eager to assist with any suggestions and/or questions I have. worst apartment and management. they dont care about the tenant, they care about the money only. The rent increase every year but Washer, Dryer, Laundry card machine and elevator are always broken. Office staff especially the asian lady are rude. It says "Smoke free apartment" but you can smell cigarettes in the hallway. Always problem with the water supply. they Shut it down every month or some times twice a month. Dont even waste your time to visit this place. I dont recommend it. read more

I am starting my second year of living here and have been completely satisfied with the quality of service at this apartment complex. Staff has been incredibly professional and I am beyond pleased with their help. Lauren and Jen have gone above and beyond to make sure our needs have been met. They even stayed one night after closing hours for at least an hour to help with a phone-call dealing with our electricity when we were renewing the lease. I genuinely appreciate their willingness do more than they're expected to as managers. They are a joy! Maintenance has been equally amazing. Any maintenance issue is dealt with in a timely manner. Sometimes by the next day! I don't think i have ever had this level of professionalism and promptness at a complex before. Genuinely enjoy living here. The complex is always clean, any dirty aspect is dealt with promptly. The pool/jacuzzi area is above exceptional. I would highly recommend this complex. Me and my roommates lived here for 1 year and had so many issues with the maintenance of this complex. The washing/drying machines were constantly breaking down with no notice to residents, our toilet had a plumbing issue that we had to ask maintenance multiple times to try to repair and the new management team is horrible. ALSO their new team decided to charge us over $2,000 in repairs to our unit while they kept our $1,000 deposit prior to move in on top of that. Mind you we were very cleanly and respectful tenants during our stay compared to the other noisy/party people in this complex. Here I am a year later with an update on my time at Northridge Garden, as I am sadly relocating for work, and that is mainly the only reason I have to leave. Firstly, I am over-the-moon with the staff here. They have remained incredibly kind, honest and prompt with their responses to any question I've ever had for them. It was always so nice to get my mail in the mornings and stop for a small chat with the very wonderful leasing staff. They are so personable, would always ask how everything is with the unit, and consistently made me feel very comfortable and wanted there. Maintenance has always been right there for us with the few issues we had with the unit. Not much else needs to be said. If you need them, they're there, just how it should be. If I were to have any sort of gripe, it would very simply be the age demographics of residents, which the staff themselves can't really control. You get what you get, looking so close to a college. Kids don't really care if their building is clean, and they'll do as they please without any sort of remorse, smoking, leaving trash, being loud. College students party, it's what they do. So again, as far as noise is concerned, if you're looking at an apartment close to a college, such as this one, you'll unfortunately have to expect it. Going back to my one complaint, I guess it would be that I've called security anonymously, about the smell of marijuana twice, with the unit number it was coming from, and it seemed as though the smokers didn't really get the hint. I probably should have called a third time. Basically the kids are annoying, the unit was great, the staff are unbelievably wonderful. I'll probably update again soon about the fairness of the security deposit return, once all of that happens. read more

5 stars to management here. Shout out to property manager, Lauren, who was extremely helpful. My bf and I went to the lounge to do our homework and asked her about the WiFi information. Unfortunately, we were having trouble with WiFi and she took all the time needed to address the issue. Just as we were about to leave for Starbucks she came back again and asked us if it was working. Turns out WiFi works better in the lobby and there was a good working area out there.She was able to efficiently handle the issue. In addition, she was kind to offer snacks and coffee. Many tenants were walking through the hallway, all were greeted kindly. She took the time to hear their feedback and offer a solution. Not many property managers are like this, props to her. I lived at Northridge Gardens for about 2 and a half years, in two different units. first of all, management doesn't care. Jaqueline was new at the time, we had numerous issues both with her and Rudy, the maintenance person (who Has been replaced, I hear.) the hallways always smelled of smoke and, people being loud and idiotic at all times of the day and night. During the weekend, when we wanted to chill by the pool, families would put their own gazebos and bring TVs, radios, and grills and basically move in to the pool area, leaving everybody else feeling like uninvited guests to their own private party. Not cool. no pets? I once met a snake and it's owner in the elevator. the apartments are ok, if you're willing to share wall space with people who do nothing but listen to loud music And smoke weed. Oh yeah, it'll seep through the wall. we had downstairs neighbors who had trash on their balcony for months. Months. We spoke to management several times, they didn't lifer a finger until we got roaches in our kitchen coming through the electricity plug. When it came to spending Their own money to debug the apartment TWICE , they finally did something about it and kicked that tenant out. He was dirty, loud, and disrespectful. so, if you want to live in hell, move in today! read more

I finally escaped hell after a year when the lease was finally up. There were too many problems for me to list . But here are a few , all the college students smoking weed , washing machine always breaking down , loud parties and obnoxious people being loud at all hours of the night . But my favorite is when LAPD shows up at night doing what they have to do and management being oblivious . The only good things are the cleaning staff and maintenance because I have to be fair . It was truly one of the worst apartment experiences I have ever had . Just pay more rent at a better apartment or move to Van Nuys but stay way from this apartment building . When I first moved in it seemed like it was going to be a positive experience , but it was a case of Jekyll and Hyde . Been living here here for almost 2 years and I am very disappointed in the management of the complex. This is a non smoking property and people are still smoking cigarettes and weed on the property. The security here is a joke. I give maintenance a 5star review if I could. But the management here is what has brought this review down. I have a 14month old son and when people are smoking weed on property it fills the entire hallway. They should have an onsite security guard for all major holidays and because they are so close to California State University Of Northridge. My experience here at the Northridge gardens has been a dream. Moving from Chicago to California was hassle and finding a very comfortable place to live was hard until I moved into Northridge gardens apartments. I have to give all the credit to Rafael. He is amazing and is always working with me in making experience here a success. I currently am living in a two bedroom apartment with roommates and now I am venturing out on my own so I decided to get a 1 bedroom at Northridge garden. I also like to give credit to the staff they are always on top of their game anytime I request maintenance they respond very quickly. I moved in 3 months ago and have loved being here since. They have courtesy patrol walking the parking lot and building. The facilities includes a gym, with weights, elliptical, and treadmill, there is also a wifi lounge, sauna, pool and jacuzzi (which my kids love). They also have great resident events where I get to meet my neighbors and enjoy some delicious food. Last month they had a waffle station that my kids loved. I have had some maintenance issues but maintenance techs Alex and Max always get it fixed, they are respectful and courteous when they come in my apartment. Trevor and Jackie in the leasing office are helpful and friendly, they always listen to any concerns I might have and try to resolve them. read more

They are always on top of everything and treat us very fairly. The maintenance staff is very friendly and very attentive to all of our requests. I have been currently residing in the Northridge Gardens for the past 2 months, and it has by far been my best living experience yet. This is all thanks to Jacklyn and Lauren which are the current management at Northridge Gardens. They have allowed me to truly feel at home at the Northridge Gardens due to their outstanding help and work. I recently had an issue with my dishwasher in the apartment, and the management was extremely prompt with their response. Upon inspection by maintence, the dishwasher needed to be replaced, and I had a brand new washer in no time. If you are looking for a place to live this is definitely the place, it is like no other. Make sure to talk to Jacklyn or Lauren as they will make your entire home experience a great one! read more
