I came in for excessive bleeding and clots larger than a golf ball. I'd been feeling dizzy and light headed all day as well and thought it was best that I be seen rather than risk it. The nurse on staff tonight was named Valerie and the doctor was Dr. thrift. My first issue was with the nurse. She came in off the bat with an attitude and she said "I just saw you like on the eleventh... so.... You're still on the same medicine?" but in a snarky way like as to point out "oh you're here again?" And then she said "and what is your emergency today that you're here for?" And I told her what's going on and she said "okay and... so what would you like us to do about that today? Like... from an emergency standpoint?" Which really threw me off because... I want you to do your job and listen to my concerns and assess the issue... I told her that I wanted them to do whatever they think they should do, that this issue isn't normal for me but if they think it's not an emergency, they could turn me away. She replied "well we don't ever turn people away." Which makes her first question make even less sense... my second issue was that the doctor was in the room and did not call her out for being rude. He is very nice but was still unprofessional, as he took a personal call in my face, in the room. They did a few tests, whatever... I was focused on getting out of there, as I felt like they were offended that I even came in. Towards the end of me being there, another girl asked me to give a urine sample. Shortly after I heard the nurse Valerie and her saying something and it seemed to be about me so I started to get nervous, I've had multiple miscarriages before and have been trying to get pregnant so I was worried that maybe I had been pregnant and miscarried. Then they started cackling, just laughing their behinds off. Valerie comes in with Dr. thrift and he says "she (Valerie) just scared me... because she said you were pregnant. Which is the last thing I was thinking." Valerie then says "oh it was just a joke. I wanted to freak him out." They start laughing about it as if it's actually funny. The way he worded it at first made me think even more that I had miscarried and I got very worried. But then she said it was a joke and I could barely hold in my tears. I've struggled with infertility for years after my miscarriages. It's very tone deaf and inconsiderate to joke about things like that. Especially after cackling about it when a patient can hear. Because what was funny? It was funny to make him think I miscarried? Horrible experience this time around. Which is a shame because I haven't had an issue the other times I've been seen here. I really think that this staff needs a lesson on professionalism and empathy. Or they need to consider a different profession.

However, the team here at physicians premier Ennis is one of a kind. They are kind and cared for me like I was their only patient. I was checked in very quickly and almost immediately was brought to the back within minutes. I've never been seen in an emergency room faster than I have here. I was not sure what I was experiencing but they did not dismiss me and my concerns rather than help me to understand what was truly going on. 1000/10 thank you all so much.

I have used Premiere ER several times in the past without incident. However my experience on…read more1/2/2021 was very disappointing. I have had pneumonia twice in 2020 and both times I woke up acutely ill with a high fever (104) and gasping for air. Both times I was alone and unable to safely drive myself to an ER so I had to call 911 and transport to Bay Area. Both times I was admitted and that 2nd time I had called I truly didn't think they were going to make it in time. (in addition to the pneumonia I was having an acute asthma attack) This 3rd time my firefighter boyfriend was with me and noticed I was getting progressively sicker as the night went by. We agreed it would be best to go to Premiere and nip this one in the bud so to speak before it escalated. Before any definitive testing was completed, the ER doctor told me he felt my SOB was "all in my head" (because my pulse ox was 98-99%). I can't tell you how devastated and small I felt. As a registered nurse and paramedic with 30 years of healthcare experience, I can assure you I've had to have similar discussions with patients. However for him to come to this conclusion, whether it be a personal or professional opinion, was definitely premature. What the ER doctor didn't know, because he didn't ask, was I had walked 3 flights of stairs and had to ambulate to/from the car twice before he saw me. So, yes, I was very SOB. The cold night air and the heavy use of my rescue inhaler prior to arrival had put me in a paradoxical bronchospasm and I was only just beginning to settle down. ...but mind you, this was "all in my head". And while anxiety and fear can certainly exacerbate SOB and make one feel as if they're in acute distress, I most definitely cannot fake a CXR which revealed LLL pneumonia. (now my 3rd dx in less than 12 months) I also can't fake a BP of 88/60 (I normally run extremely high, especially my DBP which is usually 90-110) I know I didn't meet criteria for hospital admission. I certainly wasn't seeking that. As stated previously, I went to Premiere to tackle this situation before inpatient treatment was necessary. The ER doc seemed to agree (after reviewing my CXR) and I was given a neb tx, IVP ABX and sent home with multiple RX's to continue care at home. What I was not given was an apology for being made to feel as if I was merely attention seeking, emotional, psychosomatic and dramatic. Everyone can have an off shift but on 1/2/2021 the healthcare system let this long-time nurse down. I hope that if/when the day comes that this MD finds himself on the other side of a hospital gurney that he receives better care than the care he initially gave me.

Well right when they go in they get treated like crap from the front desk. Then this guy was walking to the back to get my mom which is what they thought but when they walked to the back he rolled his eyes at them for what reason I don't know. And they said that another patient had to give my mom a wheelchair to sit down because no one working there would. That's pretty shitty that another patient saw how much pain my mom was in. And gave her a wheelchair chair to sit in. Then they told my neice to wheel her in. Then when my mom didn't want to be transferred to the hospital in corpus the nurse tells her " after all the chaos y'all caused you don't want to know what's going on with your heart " I wish I knew your name. I'd put you on here. They didn't cause chaos. They were worried about my mom and these jerks could care less. The hospital in corpus said she shouldn't have been transferred. This staff either needs to go or they need to improve How would you like it if your mom was treated like shit. While they're worried for her LIFE! If I could put no stars I would this place is horrible

When you sign…read moreyour new patient paperwork, one of the papers that they have you sign is authorization to keep a card on file. I signed this and didn't think anything of it. That is until about a year later I had a charge from my account of over $150 from this facility with no call, no warning just the debit from my account. I called them and they said that there was an issue with billing my insurance and that was the owed part that they had to pay so they deducted it from my account. I immediately called Blue Cross Blue Shield and got to the bottom of it. Because I had two insurance policies at the time and only one was billed, they wanted the visit to be billed through my employer's insurance. The BCBS agent told me to have the facility resubmit everything with my employer insurance policy. I called back and spoke to Sandy and told her this. She was somewhat argumentative and was trying to talk to me like I was dumb. And told me "there's no point in filing it they aren't going to approve it anyway". I asked her if she could still file it anyway and she said OK fine. A month later I never heard anything back so I called Blue Cross Blue Shield again. They had never received the new bill. The agent said "have her resubmit it; It hasn't been over a year since your visit and it will be approved. I don't know why she's telling you there's no point. It will be covered and the original was filed timely so it's fine just have her resubmit." So I called back to the facility, asked for billing. No one answered, left a voicemail. A few days later called back was transferred to billing. Even though Sandy was there, she refused to talk to me, because I was talking to another person who would put me on hold, go talk to Sandy and then come back and talk to me. Very unprofessional. Long story short Sandy never resubmitted the claim to Blue Cross Blue Shield. So a visit that would have been paid in full by both my insurance plans, ended up being charged to me for absolutely no reason other than her laziness and arrogance. So out $158 all for nothing. The NP mary is awesome but their billing/office staff not so much.
