We were treated with kindness, understanding and high quality care. The facility, itself, is warm and inviting, feels like a "bed and breakfast"! His every need was met. The nursing and assistant staff were all wonderful from Lexi, the administrator, Alex, an aide and Jazmin and Maita, Indal and Cosmos, our nurses who were skilled and very pleasant and attentive. The dining room staff was also excellent. The facility is very clean and inviting. The daily craft sessions were entertaining and much appreciated! This was my first experience with physical therapy of any kind. My intake was performed at ATI's…read moreNiles location, and all subsequent sessions were in Skokie. The good: - Professional, competent and thoughtful physical therapists; - Friendly and responsive management, both at this facility, and at Niles and their Bolingbrook corporate office; - Clean, well-appointed facilities. The not-so-good: - During my time at this facility I was treated by four different PTs. It wasn't until several weeks into my therapy that one PT identified themselves as my "primary," and from then on was consistently available to me. Prior to that the communication between my PTs was limited, even dysfunctional, with each PT assigning me their own at-home exercises seemingly unaware of, or misinformed regarding the exercises I was already performing. This was dispiriting, especially when I'd accrued over a dozen exercises I thought I was obliged to work through daily. - A personalized web portal called MedBridge was presented to me as a resource for my at-home exercises and progress. I liked MedBridge, I liked having my exercises available online, but I soon realized that not all of my PTs used it, and those that did appeared not know how to use it properly. In the end, MedBridge became frustratingly unreliable and I stayed with my paper printouts instead. - It wasn't unusual for my PTs to be attending to another client at the same time as me. Given what ATI was billing my insurance provider, consistent one-on-one would have been appreciated--and expected. (One PT confided that ATI was having trouble hiring PTs and that most of the PTs currently at the facility were independents.) - During my intake, the facility manager wanted to charge me a $10 fee payable immediately. I advised him that my insurance card says, "Please do not collect $ at time of service," but I was told the $10 fee was not a co-pay, rather it was "co-insurance." I subsequently learned that the fee was really a pre-pay that applied against the total bill. At their request I gave them my credit card so they could auto-debit $10 for each session. Problem was that after several weeks the debits mysteriously stopped, and ATI Skokie told me they had no record of my credit card despite my having provided it several weeks earlier. I gave them my credit card again, and several weeks later they "lost" it again. Thereafter I refused to provide my card, telling them to instead call ATI corporate and work it out with them. To ATI's credit, they never bothered me about the pre-pays again. - This last thing was explained to me by ATI corporate as a marketing error: after about six sessions I received an email from ATI congratulating me on my "great progress" and proclaiming that I was, "close to reaching my goal!" Neither was true. Again, ATI owned it as a mistake, but dispiriting nonetheless.

We have the pleasure of having Angie as our son's speech therapist. We love Angie. Zev had a…read morespeech therapist for about 5 months before her, and then we got Angie right after he turned 2. At that point he wasn't even saying 10 words, and we weren't sure if he really understood anything we were saying. I remember pretty clearly our second session with Angie where I was tickling Zev. He was clearly enjoying himself and would take my hands to tickle him more. And Angie just told me to wait the next time he wanted to be tickled, and I waited with my hands in tickle position for what seemed to be forever (was probably more like 15 to 20 seconds) and sure enough Zev looks at me and said "tickles". What a moment. Now we are about 8 months later and Zev's 10 word vocabulary is around 200 words. Angie does much more than work with Zev, she works with me. She gives me tips and strategies so I can work with him since I'm the one who spends so much time with him. Not only is she great as far as her knowledge and skill set, but also her caring, professionalism and flexibility. If we've had anything in our schedule come up or a holiday or whatever it is, she's always helped us find a way/time to get each and every session in, that we have never had to miss one. What really impresses me about Chicago Pediatric Therapy Group is that they meet as a team to talk about their kids. Zev had sensory issues that needed to be worked through to get the most out of his therapy sessions. Angie would mention that when they meet at her office, she'll often bring up Zev to an OT and get their thoughts and there is collaboration within their group to think of an all-around approach to each child (I'm assuming it's not just my child).

The therapist I had was talented and helping me, but she was consistently taking care of 2-3 other…read morepeople at the same time as my appointments. Sometimes I was pushed to another therapist at the end or midway through my appointment. The therapist must have a lot of data entry to do, as mine (and others) were constantly taking every available minute during my appointment on their laptops to enter data instead of watching or correcting what I or others were doing. The last straw was my therapist disappearing halfway through my appointment to work with someone else in another room. I was passed off to someone who never introduced themselves and I had never met. The substitute didn't have a modification to give me when I asked for one, told me to do my exercises differently than my original therapist. Too, too busy to give really personalized attention throughout the appointment. Each therapist handling multiple patients at the same time.

Over many months, my daughter remained highly distressed and aggressive during sessions, yet I did not see effective intervention, a clear treatment plan, or measurable improvement. Instead of helping de-escalate conflict and rebuild trust, the sessions often felt like a place where emotions were allowed to spiral without enough guidance. I repeatedly asked for updates, a treatment plan, or some type of status report so I could understand what the goals were and whether any progress was being made. I was told there were no written reports and that communication was happening verbally with others. As a parent, that left me feeling excluded from a process that was supposed to help my child. I was also concerned by the inconsistency in communication and scheduling. Important questions often felt unanswered, and at times the process seemed improvised rather than clinically directed. From my perspective, the therapy became one-sided and did not create the balanced, safe environment that reunification work requires. Even during one session, the GAL commented that the therapist appeared one-sided, which only reinforced my concern. Most importantly, nothing improved. My child became harder to convince to attend, the conflict with the other parent continued, and I left feeling that the process caused more frustration than healing. This was an expensive and emotionally difficult experience for my family, and I cannot recommend this provider based on what we lived through.

UPDATE: We decided it was in my grandmas best interest to…read morestart In home hospice care. We found these soars on her neck from being neglected for over a month. My grandma suffered a stroke in October, survived many complications and is now at this nursing home. Due to the COVID-19, on March 11th they restricted all visitations for the safety of their patients (understandable). It has now been over a month since she has seen anyone in our family. Thursday afternoon, we received a heartbreaking call informing us that she hadn't been responsive in days, her vitals are low and we should say our final goodbyes.. could be a couple hours or days. As we all rushed over there, they refused to let us in to see her. Today, we gave the receptionist an iPad and asked that she'd set it up in my grandmas room. The iPad is set to automatically pick up FaceTime calls. Can't see her in person, at least we can see her, talk to her and let her know how much we love her through FaceTime. Hours later, in the middle of a FaceTime, one of the nurses comes into my grandmas room hangs up and closes the IPad case. Now we really can't see my grandma and she can't see us. We call, asked that it would be put back up and they refused. Said it was just temporary. We asked, are the residents not allowed to use cell phones? All other hospitals and nursing homes are allowing family members to call their loved ones. In fact, it is encouraged by primary care physicians!! The nurse, said oh they are allowed cell phones. But you cannot record her or our nurses. We explained that it is set like a phone, please this is all we have. She said, this is our policy you can call the director on Monday and then hangs up in our face. It is Easter, my grandma's favorite holiday, she is not promised an hour let alone until Monday. You must have no heart at all to strip away our rights and my grandmas rights at her last final stages of life. This has taken a toll on our entire family. This is an awful place. With some, not all, but some of the most heartless people working there. If you love your family members, do not bring them here.
