I've been going here for some quite some time. They have multiple suites, and I've been to the orthopedic and radiology suites here. They also have immediate care and a lab among others. If you need lab work done make sure to schedule an appointment they no longer do walk ins. There is plenty of parking to accommodate everyone. The encounters with the staff have always been friendly, from the receptionists to nurses to the doctors. They all have great bedside manners and provide a listening ear. The waiting rooms are kept clean and they do a great job of disinfecting in between patients. You know you are in great hands. The only downside is wait time from when you checkin 15 minutes early as required and then have to wait to be called back and it can get backed up depending on how many patients they have. read more

Extremely rude and rough lab staff. You don't deserve to be treated the way this lab will treat you. I have a very hard time getting blood draws, often resulting in being repeatedly stuck before they get it. My first time visiting here, I tried to tell the phlebotomist this and she rudely laughed and said "Don't tell me anything, let me do my job". I walked out immediately and wish I had looked at these reviews first to save myself the stress from having to deal with them at all. read more

The worst service I've ever received in a time of urgent need. The receptionist was unprofessional and rude. She told me the facility was at full capacity and that I would have to make an appointment for the next day. This was my first time ever going to this facility and now unfortunately the last time I will attempt to go there. Extremely rude person at front desk. My elderly friend was 10 minutes late and the receptionist told her she'd need to reschedule. She will, but not with them. Elderly people sometimes get lost, drive more slowly, easily get disoriented, etc. These people need to learn to show compassion. Stay away. read more

Was instructed to get labs done at this facility. Arrived only to see a sign posted that the lab closed early, sorry for the inconvenience. Came back four days later, and the SAME sign was posted in the lobby. The receptionists at the desk said they were surprised the lab had been closing early lately and they didn't know why. I checked the website and could not find any indication stating that the lab at this facility was closed. Regardless, this facility is identified as being a walk-in, first come first serve operation. People aren't going to check the website because the expectation has been created that these services will be available. If North shore can't adequately staff a facility for common lab services then they shouldn't advertise as being able to provide them at this location. Furthermore, if a sign is posted on the door there should be some reasonable explanation why the lab closed. The sign made it sound like it was an exception however it appears to be more of the norm. Open lab hours should be posted so people don't waste their time coming here to get a test done only to find it closed. Initially my primary care provider was seeing patients at this site and then suddenly this was not the case. North shore created an expectation of medical services that could be provided but then are not meeting those expectations. Maybe stop putting up these neighborhood satellite facilities if you can't staff them and provide services as advertised. We could never figure out why they put one at Rollins and Hook Road to begin with when there is a facility at Rollins and Grand - a couple of miles away. read more

The billing department is absolutely useless! I was self pay for one office visit requested a good faith estimate per the no surprise act they are required to provide one. I was given a price quote, paid that amount on the day of service then balance billed another $150 after the visit. I called and left 4 voicemails, 1 patient portal message and not one person has responded to me since oct of 2023 and it is now February 2024! I have asked for a self pay discount, I have asked them to abide by the good faith estimate quote that was given to me when I scheduled the office visit, I have asked them to send me a financial hardship to apply for a discount all in messages and still have not heard back from anyone. Northshore has unfair billing practices and very poor ethics and puts no effort into helping any patient with questions or concerns regarding this. read more

I went in for a sinus infection and the Nurse practioner (Beata A. Krupa) Was more interested in testing me for covid than she was about fixing my sinus infection. I did have influenza A however, she didn't address my sinus issues which I came in for. I'm 50 years old and I know when I have a sinus infection. Not to mention I told her I needed azithromycin and she argued with me that a sinus infection was bacterial and the antibiotics wouldn't do anything for me. I know this to be completely untrue because I was a navy corpsman for 12 years and prescribed antibiotics to patients. Either the nurse practitioner (Beata A. Krupa) is a liar or completely incompetent but either way she should not be seeing patients. I would not suggest this place for anybody. read more

We've been hearing a lot of well-deserved praise for health care professionals these days. There are a lot of heroes out there. The packed emergency rooms and ICU's full of overworked doctors and nurses are an inspiration to everybody. They're meeting a terrible challenge with courage and professionalism, and I salute them. THESE HEROES WERE NOWHERE TO BE FOUND TODAY, HOWEVER, AT NORTHSHORE UNIVERSITY HEALTHSYSTEM IMMEDIATE CARE. Long story short: Here's what I got from my trip to the doctor: They never asked my name. They never asked what was wrong or what I needed. Had I collapsed in the entryway, I'm pretty sure they would have been content to let me lie there. I received no medical care. I did get plenty of arrogance, indifference, callousness, condescension, and attitude, however, so I'm guessing that's their real product. Thanks, NorthShore. You guys are great. read more

Came at 4 PM for immediate care. Walked to the front desk and told the receptionist what I was there for. She sarcastically said, "Oh you must have walked by the big sign on the easel by the front door that says immediate care is closed. All NorthShore immediate care in lake county are closed for the rest of the day due to over capacity." There was nobody there. The last time I went to IC Gurnee said they were full to go to Round Lake. Myself and about 5 other people showed up to get turned away because they were closing in an hour and shipped us all back to Gurnee. This organization has gone down the drain. I really wanted to give this 5 stars, but I can't. They were kind and quick, but made a clerical error with my name and put my middle as my last. Needless to say it was two back and forth trips to the pharmacy who finally figured it out, but there is no direct line to call NorthShore Immediate Care only a general number with no way for them to get a hold of there own location...what a cluster. Anyway, I am now 2 hours after I left, sitting in Walmart with no end in sight. I have bronchitis, feel like crap, and this is the last thing I want to be doing. It sucks, but it's the small things that make you go elsewhere. I went in after slicing my finger at work and despite the nurse saying I could probably use stitches, was talked out of it and told to get the glue instead! Well shocker my finger was too deep and is still open so I had to go out of my way to come back only to find the waiting room is "at capacity" with a whole two people sitting there! I took a patient there for a routine blood draw for three different test. They took it upon themselves to canceled 2 of those test that the doctor ordered. When the doctor contacted them immediately. They claimed they already throw out the blood. The test were needed for cancer treatment. Now the patient is very upset and will have her an additional blood draw. She will probably have to wait an hour and then the decision will be made if she can have the treatment. It may be another wasted trip for a senior who doesn't drive. We've already had a bad experience with the Round Lake Office. Why can't people just do there dang job? Reading the other reviews it happens all the time. FIX THE DANG PROBLEM OR GET RID OF THE PROBLEM PEOPLE. It's during Covid times people. Patients shouldn't have to be exposed when they are susceptible because of their health and these people make them go out to these places more then they need to. Management needs to do something. Went in for blood labs and was told it would be a 30 minute wait. I was then asked to wait outside or in my car (presumably due to Covid protocol) and I would receive a phone call. After waiting 90 minutes I went back in to inquire where I stood in the queue. I was told that they left me a voice message, which was clearly a lie. This place is a disaster. read more

If you go to the walk in clinic, expect to be treated like dirt. I went today and was told the wait could be up to three hours or more. I put my name in. The clerk said the wait would be at least two and a half hours based on the full waiting room. So I left and came back. When I returned the clerk said" they called you five patients ago! Now you'll have to wait at least two to three more hours!" They disrespect your time by requiring you sit there and wait and wait and wait. The only time that matters is theirs. This arrogant, patient-unfriendly group doesn't lack for walk-ins, so they get away with this. My husband told me to tell them "where to go". So I did. If you have another option for care, take it. On June 7th my doctor in glenview ordered a cancer screening urology test. The test takes about a week to run. A week and a half later I was still looking for my results. I was then told that the lab did not run the test but had thrown out the sample. I was told they had to redo the sample but being that I didn't actually live near the doctors office I could go to the Northshore facility near me in Gurnee. On June 26 I did just that. A week and a half later I was still looking for my results when I was told that lab had thrown out the sample. My third attempt at taking the urology test was not successful either. After speaking to the lab who told me that the facility lab would be open till 1:30, I went over at 12:30 to find they weren't taking any more patients. I asked for a cup so I could bring it home and bring my sample in first thing this morning. After some serious insistence they gave me the cup. At 8:30 this morning I tried to bring my sample over to the lab. I went up to the lab Desk, waited until one of the people from Northshore came up to me (without a mask by the way) and told me that I would have to wait on the line in order to give them my sample. The line was literally out the front door of the facility with people sneezing and coughing. They actually wanted me to wait on line in a small space surrounded by sick people when I'm trying to hand in a sample for a cancer test. I have no idea what universe that makes sense in! There was no reason to subject me to that kind of danger so I left and they threw out the sample and I literally came home in tears. We're close to four weeks out now, each time I have to take the test is very uncomfortable and my stress level is through the roof...and it's really all because of North shore at this point. If I wasn't such a big fan of Dr. Novakovic's I swear I would leave Northshore tomorrow. Truthfully, I am concerned about the accuracy of the results of the test if they can't even take the test. read more

I've been to this facility many times and have always received excellent service from every person I interacted with. The longest I've ever had to wait is about ten minutes and most times it was closer to five. The nurses and staff have always been very polite and respectful. The Northshore doctors are among the best you can find. Prior to Northshore, I had been with Advocate. The communication not only with me, but among their own staff/departments was the worst. I heard excuse after excuse (like "that department is on a different computer system" - "apparently YOU misunderstood"). Anyway, my point is that the Gurnee location has provided consistent and superb service each and every time. read more

Excellent care EVERY single time. From the labs that have been drawn on myself and my son, to the care we've all received from Dr. Masood, to the AMAZING xray technician, Lisa, who helped my child with autism today get through a chest xray. I have to say this young lady has gone FAR above and beyond, explaining to him all the steps along the way.....and as it turns out, she has a child with autism and knows full well what that all entails. The xray ended with me hugging her, thanking her for her compassion, and telling her what a mark age left on me today. I REALLY hope North Shore sees this. When checked in for my covid test while actively sick the CCR said there was only 2 people in front of me and to wait inside. Sure enough there was two men waiting. Wally, the nurse, from the get go was very rude. When shouting out names I asked for a last name. Thinking I may have signed in incorrectly or he was using my wrong name (my middle name) instead he said "is your name **** then it's not you" in a rude condescending voice and attitude . I was like man he is having a bad day. Then when 6 others had been called back before me I asked the nurse if I was going anytime soon as I was told there was only 2 I front of me, and people that came after me were going before me. I got no answer. Then comes the next round where once again my name was not called and two more gentlemen went in before me that checked in after me. Until Wally stepped out and called me into a room. When he said " what brings you in?" in a snarky tone I replied a covid test and he rudely said "isn't that why we are all here?" I said sir I'm not sure why your talking to me like this but you're being very rude and condescending. He said you were treating people rudely in the waiting room? I said by asking for a last name and asking when I was set to go as I had obviously been told incorrect information. I never asked any of these questions rudely. Just wanted to know when I was going. He demanded to tell him who was at the desk that told me there was two in front of me I just said the older lady (who was very nice) he was still acting very rude and I asked that he calm down he stormed out and said I'm going to have another nurse check you in. I said that's awesome because you clearly can't treat me like a human. He also refused to give me his name and then Barged in my room without knocking to give me a card of his supervisor. His behavior was uncalled for. I also know he went to the back and talked poorly of me to the other staff. I know how it works in this environment as I work in one as well. While the rest of the staff was nice and competent Wally clearly was having a bad day and took it out on me. read more

I needed a referral for additional medical services, and the doctor and the doctors office, assured me that the referral was sent electronically. Long story short, referral was NEVER sent, nor was an authorization provided. I spoke to the office manager, and he simply dismissed me, defending the doctor and the practice. I filed a complaint with the President (CEO) and he had an associate of his contact me, also dismissing me, indicating that the office followed procedures. Ironically, I received a phone message from the Referral Department, indicating that I, was indeed, correct, and that the referral nor the authorization, was ever sent. Because of all the miscommunication, and the lack of follow through, I was forced to negotiate with my insurance company to pay for services, which should have been, would have been covered, if the Doctor's office and the practice did their jobs. Disgusted, that not one person within this practice, admitted their error, nor offered an apology; especially when the referral department, indicated they were at fault. Healthcare is no longer about caring, it's all about administration, and $. APPALLING!!!! read more

My husband had a very bad nose bleed and the nurse and PA were great. They took him in right away and the PA seen him in 10 minutes. At that point it stopped bleeding and he did an exam and try to get it to start bleeding again so he could correct the problem. Unfortunately he couldn't get it bleeding again after several different attempts. The PA gave him some tips on how to prevent it from happening again. After he left the Dr on staff came in, handed my husband a printout and said there is nothing else they could do and that he needs to see his primary doctor. I asked "so that's all you can say or do?" And he said "if it happens again go to the ER they have better equipment then we do". My question to this urgent care facility, is why do you even need a doctor on staff when you have very knowledgeable PA's? I just can't wait to receive the bill and see what that "Doctors" portion will be for seeing my husband for literally THREE minutes and handing him a printout! read more

Let me start by saying that Northshore have best doctors, nurses and lab staff tho what they are lacking is front desk staff. I totally understand that its really hard now a days to work in medical industry but those front desk workers are not special and in fact they work in much safer environment than nurses and doctors still they are really rude and it seems that most of the time they are ready to start a fight. Another issues is that if you are using Northshore Connect App then your phone will be saying one thing and those people at front desk will be telling you a totally different thing. Recently I had a chance to visit Northshore 1000 Rollins Road location. I screened a day ahead and upon arrival at Hospital a message popped up on my phone saying you are here just go in, take a seat and wait to be called. Sounds fair tho when I went inside and tried to take a seat the lady at front desk yelled at me loudly and said go back, stand by the door and wait. I was wearing a mask and was following 6 feet distance in fact I was more than 12 feet from the humans there tho it turned out to be that they need to take the temperature, fair enough tho the problem was that there wasn't any one there taking temperatures and if that was the case like people had to check in again even after checking in on phone then no big deal, just put a sign there saying no matter what you will have to check in again. Even then there was no reason for that front desk lady to yell at me. Please start treating people professionally or politely. read more

I went to the Gurnee lab for a fasting blood test . After driving 25 minutes I had to wait 45 minutes. There was a man waiting that was becoming very upset about the wait time and I believe his anger may have been do to a drop in his sugar level, but the women at the check in just told him it would be another 15 minutes, she seemed very unconcerned. When I asked how long my wait time would be I was told another 20 minutes, when I asked why so long the person at the check in said " if everyone did not want to come here it would not take so long". read more

VERY IMPRESSED! I needed to get my son seen right away by a doctor ( he was screaming his ears and throat hurt), I was driving down Grand Ave at 6PM Thinking "great who's going to see him at this time without waiting for hours"?! Then I saw the sign "Urgent Care" so I stopped at NorthShore University Health Systems in Gurnee walked in! The receptionist was so nice,she got us checked in right away and I saw a MD within 10 minutes! MD was extremely friendly, efficient and got us some meds and sent us on our way. The Whole experience especially with two little ones was probably one of the best I have ever had for an Urgent Care Walk in! Highly recommend using this facility! read more

I am at a loss. In the past 2 months I have gone to this location 3 times and the front desk staff highly encouraged me to leave. The first time I was told they only had one doctor and they recommended I go somewhere else and wouldn't even give me the option of waiting (maybe they were trying to be kind but there were only 2 other people in the waiting room so I wouldn't have minded waiting even if it was a couple hours). The next time I went I was told I should go see my general practitioner (I had called my GP several times before attempting immediate care and they weren't available for an important follow up X-ray). The front desk staff was condescending and discouraged me from checking in. I had exhausted all other options short of the ER (hence why I came to immediate care instead of the ER). I wound up going to the ER for issues that could've easily been resolved at immediate care and I probably waited the same amount of time. The only time I had an excellent experience was on a Sunday when the normal front desk staff was not there. read more

Usually very happy but was seen by a new MD. He is uncaring and really rushed me.he didn't help me at all and I would warn you to run not walk if you need to see him. Went in with shoulder pain he told me to stretch and do exercises even though I couldn't raise my arm. I did what i was told and called later that day to speak to him. I explained I couldn't move my neck and my fingers were numb the nurse told me he said if it hurts to go to ER. I was in tears. I did go to a ER I was prescribed a muscle relaxer and given a shot of a anti inflammatory and was pain free in a hour. If he would have examined me probably and felt my back I feel he could have prescribed me the muscle relaxer and saved me a ton of pain and money. He stood behind his care and so did the manager. He didn't want to be bothered. He's new to practice and his word was taken over mine even though I have been a loyal patient for years. I always pay my bills and have never complained before today.
