That said, you receive quality of care at North Sound physical therapy. They build a plan around your injury and really explain the process. I was not able to complete my plan; however, they called me to remind me and gave me multiple opportunities to come in and work with their staff and physical therapist and I greatly appreciate them and all they do. I would say for your physical therapy needs if you don't already have an established facility or staff to work with give them a shot. Give Northtown physical therapy a shot.

The staff is patient, knowledgeable, and thoughtful in their care. I am currently undergoing PT for an overuse injury of my shoulder and within two weeks my pain has been reduced by 50% and my range of motion is dramatically improved. I had extended PT after suffering a subarachnoid hemorrhage in 2012 and the care I received at NSPT was second to none. The care I needed was quite different from what I had needed in the past for running injuries. They not only helped me with my deficits I suffered as a result of the brain hemorrhage, they were patient and understanding with my mental and emotional issues as well. I can't underscore enough how high the quality of care is at Northsound.

This place runs like a PT factory. I had my assessment done by one PT, then unexpectedly saw a new…read morePT for the next visit, a PTA after that and finally a third PT. Everyone was kind and professional. The first two clinicians came off as inexperienced though, and provided instructions that were directly contradictory which left me confused. I finally clarified with the PTA and after that, followed the recommendations diligently. What I also found quite odd is that all clinicians had me do the exact same exercises in person as I was assigned to do at home while billing my insurance almost $300 for providing a skilled service -- but they added NOTHING to them. No increasing difficulty, no feedback or critique. Nothing. In fact, the PTA would just tell me to do a certain number of reps and then walk away. But I was desperate for pain relief and wrote it off as "it takes time" yada yada... At 7 weeks with no improvement, I finally called and requested a re-evaluation due to lack of progress. THAT should not be my job, and I think they would have just kept going if I hadn't advocated for myself, which is unacceptable IMO. I then saw the third PT who was excellent with manual techniques which provided a mild to moderate temporary benefit sometimes but no lasting pain relief. All this while I had been waiting for insurance approval for an RFA procedure. When my insurance company denied it, I called and asked for a list of my appointment dates to include in documentation for an appeal process. I was told that I would have to go through an outside agency to get this info as well as to sign a release form even though I was just requesting the information for myself. The agency contacted me 2 weeks later with an invoice for $21. Unbelievable. I also asked for a simple, short letter from one of the PT's stating that I had been compliant with the treatment plan and continued to be in pain. I was told that this could be done but there was no follow up at all. As a healthcare clinician myself, I am really disappointed by unnecessary administrative policies interfering with patient standard of care. In sum, this place could work for you if your issue is extremely clear and straightforward, or if you just need external motivation to do the work (or if you like loud country music...) -- but the consistency and quality of care appears to be poor for more complex issues.

The fact is that RET does not care about their employees. They lay off their dedicated employees and tell them they are eliminating the position, but they keep this particular position at all the other clinics. Very dishonest of them in my opinion. RET Corporate does not communicate with their employees at all about the issues that matter. They have not kept benefits for their part time employees during this pandemic. They are all so wonderful and knowledgable. My entire session is filled with princess exercises (and the frequent jocks that come in and put mine to shame lol), massages or ((UGH)) ice therapy. There is also a wandering Dopey pez that I have yet to find. I leave there feeling like I deserve my ice cream cone. Hopefully I won't need therapy again in my whole life, but if I do, I will definitely come back to this place!

Scoliosis continues to progress and cause problems throughout your life. Your regular primary physician is likely to send you and your back pain to one of those physical therapists who don't have the needed specialized knowledge to deal with the problems someone with scoliosis has. I found these folks on my own and learned a few new things about my condition and what I should I shouldn't be doing.
