Fast and convenient. Doctors and PAs always good. Front desk staff can be rude at times.

DO NOT GO HERE! WOW…read moreI couldn't agree more with the other reviewer! this place is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous!!! They are not "in network" with anyone so they will try to charge you an insane amount! My experience was similar to the other review. I was visiting from out of town and got food poisoning that lasted over 5 days so I sought a medical opinion. WHAT A JOKE. After calling to confirm that they accepted my insurance (they lied they are not in network) and telling the woman that I would be there in about 15 minutes I arrived to a silent, dark office. The woman told me the doctor was on his way (they must not even have doctors on site). A young doctor in his late 20's early 30's shows up and uses his phone as well. He told me the same information that I found on Webmd and advised me to drink gatorade. He didn't perform any medical services. Although he did, write me a script for a prescription that Walgreens does not offer because it was too small of a dosage, so I got something over the counter. A couple weeks later I get a bill in the mail for over $1000!!!! FOR WHATTTT? Don't go here, you are way better off going to the new St. Lukes Anderson Campus for exceptional help.

The WORST experience I've ever had at an urgent care center! Had to go on a Sunday due to a very,…read morevery painful rash in my scalp, in front of my ear and on my face. When I got there, only the receptionist was there. Dressed in plain clothes. She said the Dr. had just stepped out and will be back in about 10-15 minutes. Shortly later, she showed me to an exam room. The doctor came in, also in plain clothes. Shook my hand and said he was the doctor. Took a look at the rashes (all on the same side of my head) and said he wasn't sure what they were. I told him they were very painful and that I had severe pain in my ear and thought it was shingles. He said, possibly. He left the room to "write me some instructions". He left the door open and as I peeked around the open door, saw him on his smartphone. He came back into the room, with no written instructions, with his phone lit up. I am sure he was trying to see if they were shingles. He again said they "seemed" to be shingles and to follow up with my GP. Wait...what about the severe pain I had in my ear? Wasn't he going to give me any meds? He said, oh, take Motrin and I'll give you some drops for your ear. First thing Monday morning I called my GP. Couldn't get in until Tuesday, so I ended up going to St. Luke's North. There the doctor told me that I, in fact, had shingles, and that the drops I had been given would have no affect on anything I had. He sent me home with a medication and told me to take Motrin. Follow up if it didn't get better. Well, it started getting better after 24 hours on the medication. Oh, then I get the bill from Northwood....$1,700.00+!!!! Un-freakin-believable! My insurance would only pay $285.00 of it, so I called Horizon and they were kind enough to get on the phone with Northwood with me. They talked Northwood into accepting the $285.00 as full payment...that is the ONLY reason they are getting ONE STAR!

Yeah, I'm sittin' in this old room Waitin' like a damn fool…read moreAnd I'm startin' to snooooze And I've given up hope I'm feelin' like a dope Being here makes me want to hit the booooze Is it any wonder I'm not crazy Is it any wonder I'm sane at all Well, I'm so tired of waitin' I got things to do But I've spent my whole day here Alright, hyperbole aside, this place is what it is. A family member had to come here for a pre-employment drug screen and anytime you have to go to a specific place versus having multiple options, you know it's going to take forever. The first off putting thing is the never ending fun with their touch screen system of checking in that basically wants a small life story while other people are waiting to use one of the two working terminals and the screen is not exactly the most responsive. Then you're called right away to speak with their one intake person they have working who basically regurgitates the entire touch screen experience back at you, screws around for a few minutes while they can't figure out how to take a proper scan of your ID and then tells you there is only one person in front of you for lab work so it shouldn't be too long. Two plus hours later, they finally got called back and that whole process was another 45 minutes which equaled about three hours from door to door to piss in a cup. In the local area, there are two large medical monopolies and we are very much in the camp of the other one. This much I know, they don't do things as slow, old school and stupid as this. Herd everyone up into a large centralized multi-purpose building and then skeletally staff it. This type of process is what gives health care a bad name. No. Mas.

If you have to do the hospital thing at LVHN for whatever reason this is the place you want to…read moregoing to. It's sooo much less chaotic and ridiculous than Cedar Crest in every possible way. I despise all the Yelp lemmings who use this term but here are a few pro tips to help you with your Muhlenberg experience. * Patient parking here at times is still an issue. Not an issue like at Cedar Crest but if you come during the day on weekdays unless you trust your car to the valet staff expect to walk a bit. Too many people camp out in the Health Spectrum Pharmacy spaces for hours and too many staff park wherever even though they have designated areas. Security supposedly is tough on the enforcement front against that type of stuff but trust me, in reality, they're not. * Way too many people come to the ER here for a bunch of total nonsense which causes wait times to balloon. Next door there is an ExpressCare location which is in essence LVHN's version of a Patient First or an EmergiCenter. Of course the downside to the ExpressCare versus the other two would be the significantly shorter hours. The upside would be the non-existent wait because everyone is running to the ER for the sniffles. I've done the ExpressCare thing now three times in the past two years and I've never waited to be seen more than ten minutes. * Speaking of the ExpressCare, another great end around versus waiting hours in the ER is if you're coming for some kind of testing or imaging is to either first go to your PCP and get a scrip or go to the ExpressCare and get a scrip then you can head up to the Diagnostic Care Center on the 2nd floor and more or less have little to no wait versus camping out in the ER for hours for something like an X-Ray. * Last thing would be compared to the miserable experience you're almost certain to have if you get a scrip filled at the Health Spectrum Pharmacy at Cedar Crest, the staff here is beyond great and the wait is never bad. Good spot overall and things indeed are run far more efficiently and smoothly. Definitely come here versus Cedar Crest.

Do not bring your loved one to this hospital!!!! We brought our mother in for a kidney stone and…read moreshe never came home, we lost her on mother's day. We were told initially the kidney stone was all they found during testing. (I realize these are painful) Over the next few days she became more & more confused & we were told she had sepsis. Then a day later we were told she had a mass. The way she cried out in pain for an hour at a time, screaming "God help me" , we had to chase the staff down to get her pain meds and still had to wait an hour. Would a doctor let their own mother scream in pain for an hour? This happened 3 times!!! I was holding my mother's hand by her bedside to console her & the cleaning lady that came in to clean the floor demanded I sit down so she could clean, I'm worried about my mother's life, I'm sure the floor can wait. My friend looked at me like did she really just say that?!?! When we decided hospice was the next choice we had a friend who advocated for us to go to the St Luke's Hospice house. We had a meeting with the doctor & palliative care staff, they really didn't answer any of our questions. When asked why my mother is now passing away from a kidney stone, their answer was a multitude of reasons. Very vague. She had to stay there yet overnight because of transportation purposes. We were told they would keep her comfortable every 2 hours with pain meds. I didn't want to leave her, but i needed to go home to get a few hours of sleep. I came back at 8 am and found her with a mouth full of mucus she was choking on as she was trying to yell out in pain. I asked the nurse when she had her pain meds last and the response was "i think at 4:00 am". What?!?!?? I think???? I had to ask to have her mouth suctioned out and it took over 20 min to a half hour until they came in to help . These are the final memories that will always haunt us. I do have to give the credit where it's due, we had several amazing nurses who sincerely care about their patients. They were amazing. But I will never step foot in this hospital again.
