They are family-run business (Serhii, his brother and family members do all the work), Serhii is a great communicator and he responded to my detailed questions in writing very clearly while some other contractors don't care to spend that time/effort. Their pricing is also pretty fair. During the project they worked hard and kept the schedule as promised. During the process some unanticipated issues came up and they showed flexibility and willingness to change the scope of the project and schedule accordingly. They are detail oriented. After we had them reinstall all baseboards there was one place we were not quite happy, they came back and fixed it. Our subfloor moisture level after having our walls skim coated were too high for installation, they were helpful in directing me how to bring the moisture level down so that after installation we did not have issues with cupping, etc. The installation was beautiful and we are extremely happy with the results. Was the first contractor to reply to me and visit our home and provide a quote and was very communicative throughout the process AND after installation that went above and beyond! (see details below) We had a slow dishwasher leak that caused significant localized water damage to the hardwood flooring in our kitchen leading to swelling of the floor and lifting our dishwasher against our marble countertops. Many flooring companies that only do refinishing wouldn't even touch or try to attempt this project... Vlad and his wife from Northwest Flooring were very professional and came in to inspect our kitchen and gave us a very competitive quote to replace the damaged floor, repair some loose boards elsewhere in our house and refinish the remaining 20-year-old flooring in our kitchen, dining area, and hallway. His team completed the work in only 3 days with very professional high-quality work (see photos) with floor-to-ceiling plastic sheeting to separate our other rooms from dust and cover up our kitchen appliances and other rooms to keep them clean. After the work is where the truly exceptional customer service came in, we had placed a plastic bag onto the floor of our freshly coated floors (our fault for not following our instruction to keep it empty for 3 days to dry) and it caused a slight blemish on the floor - we inquired about having that fixed at our expense and Vlad actually came back the very next evening and repaired it for no charge! (even though it was our own fault). 1 Month later (as during the pandemic our new dishwasher was back-ordered) when it came time to slide in our new dishwasher we, unfortunately, discovered it was slightly too tall to fit under our countertop (due to the washer being taller, the flooring was great). We called NW Flooring again on a Saturday morning to see if they could help and the owner came in THE SAME DAY to help us lower the floor under the dishwasher to help it fit. Northwest Flooring LLC did a fantastic job refinishing my hardwood floor! A few years ago, I started searching for contractors to refinish my ¾" hardwood floor, about 510 square feet of 20-year-old, 2 1/2" wide birch with beveled edges and a shiny, factory-applied Swedish finish, both of which I wanted removed. Several contractors provided estimates. Some said it would be very costly to sand down past the bevel channels. Others said it was impossible to refinish and that I should simply replace it, which was not an option for us. Only 2 of the 9 contractors I spoke with seemed to actually want the job. One was 50% higher than the other. Based on that and their nothing-but-5-star ratings, I ended up hiring Vlad Prokhor at Northwest Flooring LLC. He was not the least bit fazed by the amount of work it would take to remove the toxic finish and dirt-collecting bevels and promised to provide the look and finish we wanted. And best of all, his pricing was extremely competitive. His crew arrived at 8:30 Monday morning and worked tirelessly all day. They marked and removed the baseboard shoe trim, fixed a hole where the fridge was, and hung plastic sheeting for dust control. They sanded first with a large belt sander, then with a smaller handheld device for thresholds, and finally by hand in corners, under toe kicks, and other difficult-to-reach spots. They swept up the dust and debris, buffed the rough finish until it was very smooth, then applied two clear coats, which needed 2 days to dry. The crew left around 6 pm. Vlad and another crew member returned Wednesday morning to buff it out again and apply another clear coat. All in all, Vlad and his entire crew were very professional and did an outstanding job! The floor looks ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The natural color is stunning, and the matte finish with a very slight sheen is beautifully contemporary! It turned out so much better than we anticipated. My husband, who's extremely hard to impress, is still gushing over how fantastic the floor looks and what a great job they did. I have nothing negative to say about Vlad, his crew, and Northwest Flooring LLC. I'm so happy and relieved to have found and hired them! My experience with Northwest Flooring has been great, and I highly recommend this company. I got a very reasonable quote from them quickly, and Serhii and Volodymyr answered all my questions and concerns as they arose, both prior to and during the initial assessment visit. I was able to schedule the work far in advance without any problems, which gave me sufficient time to make plans to vacate the property and to give the team space to operate. Two main concerns I had were around moving the furniture out of the way, which I could not do by myself, and replacing my beaten-up baseboards. Serhii and Volodymyr were able to accommodate both of these. The team came prepared the morning they started the work, and quickly moved all the remaining large pieces of furniture out of the way. I received photos from Serhii periodically while the work was ongoing, showing the progress and the care they were taking to protect various areas from dust, which was a very nice touch -- it's good to get reassurances that your house is in good hands! At the end they completely replaced my baseboards with new ones. The result looks amazing, and for days afterwards I kept admiring my floors. Our home is 3600 sq ft home and we wanted to replace all carpet and pet damaged vinyl flooring in our daylight basement, refinish oak hardwood floors in our first floor, remove carpet from stairs and rebuild them, and remove old damaged tile.
