Most folks I met with had a lot experience in remodel work but Richard has vision and imagination. From the moment he introduced himself to my wife and I, we felt confident that this was the guy to hire. Never once through this 2.5 month project did I regret that decision. Great communication, asks for feedback through the whole process, and takes changes in stride. We did three new bathrooms, windows, flooring trim, interior and exterior doors, interior paint, banister-replacement-with-pony-wall, and a new deck. I needed my 80 year old basement garage floor epoxied. I had a bunch of companies provide quotes…read more Some actually provided quotes without even coming out and inspecting my garage. I didn't trust these quotes at all since I knew my old garage floor was not in great shape. Obed showed great knowledge with epoxying floors. He pointed out a bunch of cracks and pits that would need to be opened up and filled. My garage also had something strange where someone had extended the footing with additional concrete. This caused extra concrete ledges around my entire footing. Obed said he could address all of it. I also needed trim installed and he said he could do that as well. Even with the trim install, his quote came out competitive with the other quotes. Obed did an amazing job with the garage floor epoxy and the trim work. I was very impressed with the end result. I know he went above and beyond to take additional time to fix issues so that the end result would be good. For example, we agreed to have one small part of the extra concrete ground down so the floor would be flat. As they were prepping the other extra concrete for epoxy, the concrete actually started cracking and falling off. Without charging me extra, they also removed this extra concrete so the end result was an entirely flat floor without any additional concrete ledges. After grinding the floor, Obed realized that it would best to level the floor. Again, without an additional charge, he leveled the floor. He also filled in a bunch of concrete holes and voids on the concrete step by the door leading into the house. When installing the trim, they took the time to specially contour the bottom of the trim to match the many dips in my old garage floor. While leveling did help with the dips, my garage floor just had some extreme dips. In the end, I was beyond happy with the end result. I originally hired him to epoxy my floor, but he ended up fixing so many different things and made the entire garage better because of it.

I feel a moral obligation to write this review, given the stellar reviews…read more I waited a bit to review, because I wanted to make sure I had as much information as possible before writing it. I hired the team to hang and tape/mud about 1000 sqft of drywall. I had a number of quotes, and Solution DryTex was one of the higher ones, but still within reason. I went with them because of their responsiveness and friendliness. I fired them part way through the work. I had six other drywall companies out to inspect their work - all six said it was unacceptably poor - four of them said to tear it out and start over. As they started hanging, they were doing an alright job, though slightly messier than I would've liked. As they continued, they did a few things that were absolutely unacceptable: - Extensive over-driven screws, which means the drywall will not hold well - Breaks in drywall not directly over a stud/joist, which means the drywall will flex and crack - Extremely poor shimming, meaning the drywall will be crooked - Random pieces of trash sitting behind drywall, meaning the drywall wasn't sitting level - Unnecessary breaks in drywall, which will cause more visual imperfections. - Completely crooked pieces that won't be able to made to look good, no matter the amount of mud I brought up some of these concerns, and they attempted to fix them. The fixes were wholly inadequate. Before I had a chance to circle back with regards to those fixes, they begun taping. After I saw their taping work, I promptly fired them. The taping work contained a number of major problems: - Prefill huge gaps using premixed mud, which will take weeks to dry (if ever) - Mud all over my brand new windows - Bubbled tape that won't be able to be hidden - Globs of mud used to fill an inch wide gap - Corner beads with large curves in them I messaged them repeatedly, telling them they needed to return my money, given the fact that I was going to have to redo all of their work, and they wasted thousands of dollars in material. I received no responses. The team is very nice - they're a pleasure to be around. But no amount of kindness makes up for the fact that they have no idea what they're doing. I don't feel particularly good about leaving this review, but I think it's the right thing to do - I don't want them to take advantage of others like they took advantage of me. EDIT: In response to the owner: Scope of work: Correct, the work was interrupted before it was finished. This was after trying to get poor work corrected. I have also verified with six independent teams that the quality of the work was not such that it could be made to look good and last. Site conditions: Regarding framing, the team came out ahead of the project and spent quite a while measuring. If the framing was not acceptable, then that would've been the time to say so. Client collaboration: Now you're just being strictly dishonest, because moving the cabinets was explicitly included in the agreement. And you used _one_ sheet of drywall, mostly because you used the 1/2 drywall in the wrong places and needed to make up for that fact. Quality of work and adjustments: The work was so far from professional that it could not be adequately adjusted. I have verified this with SIX different companies, to make sure I'm being reasonable in my assessment. Track record: I can't speak to this. All I know is my experience.

The downstairs bathroom was never given a second coat of paint and the floor wasn't leveled so the flooring is now breaking up. Shower door won't stay close. The vanity they recommended I get from someone they knew has unpainted spot. They also got a stone top for the vanity from the same friend and it now turning yellow. The plumbing in all the bathrooms was done by one of their workers, not a plumber and is so jerry rigged that I'm just waiting for it to fail. In the family room the track lighting is falling off because it wasn't installed properly. After they installed the flooring in the family room they dragged a piano across it and scratched the floor. After some arguing they did replace the flooring. Over all I was very disappointed and their work is not holding up. Stay away!
