You could tell from the first conversation that they're a professional group of people who take their work seriously and are passionate about showing up in the right way and letting the work speak for itself. It really boils down to consistent, clear and timely communication when you're paying for such a large project. You want to know that you're on the same page, provided with timely and consistent updates, consulted with, etc. This is where A.K. really shines. Dave and the entire deck crew were fantastic as well. They showed up every day when they said they would, were always extremely clear and concise with updates, suggestions and any questions they ran into where I needed to consult. Those consistent behaviors are just so critical in providing an excellent customer service experience, and it's rare to find BOTH high quality craftsmanship and work AND consistently great customer service. We completely gutted the den, evened the floors, put in radiant floor heating, sealed off the small door to the patio and put in sliding glass doors, and completely reconfigured the laundry/half bath/water heater space! And, very importantly, he did an absolutely gorgeous job. His company is smaller, which means less overhead and, in my experience, very client-focused and driven to excellence. From the beginning Sam was very communicative and throughout the process was available to talk through any questions/ideas/concerns I had. When they first came over to give an estimate, Eric (the owner) guided us (the roofing impaired people) on the intricacies of roofing and the differences between a "good" roof and a "bad" roof. He made recommendations on what would suit our needs (essentially how he'd do his own roof - if in our shoes). Came back with the proposal the next day and the bid simply could not be beat (he encouraged us to look around). When it was time to construct, he explained every process thoughtfully (and patiently) from start to finish. He explained each individual component and why it was chosen for our application. The man has passion! Every day when the work day ended, the crew always cleaned up and made sure things were nice and tidy (this is after a LONG day working) before leaving.
