They came out for a washer line replacement and the estimate was 30% higher than other quotes. The person who came to my home tried to tell me that I also needed an additional $3000 worth of work but if did it today with the washer project he would take a $1k off the total price. No other plumber discovered this same issue or told me my home would uninsurable unless I immediately do the work he suggested, like Ally. The plumber told everything by phone and never sent an actual estimate as I requested, despite my asking for him to send me a full estimate. Either he realized I didn't believe him and didn't want to put his up sell on paper, or he didn't think a washer alone was worth his two hours of time to fix (because the company I went with only took 2 hours.) Within those months I made them a significant amount of money following their standard procedures. They are withholding my commission that they owe me. Every salesmen there makes 4% commission and they currently owe me $7900. They are ignoring me and not answering my calls. I've been extremely polite about it but still no answer. Instead they encourage high ticket sales and have had problems with paying people in the past. So I'm curious is to how they're going to take this review off as well. Restoration: I requested an initial quote which is supposedly free. The tech came and told me I needed to sign a work form to determine the next steps, and did a complimentary treatment. They also pushed me to open an insurance claim. I did not give go-ahead to perform anything, but I got hit with a $900 bill. There is no transparency at all about the work and the payment. NOWHERE in the process were I told - we will charge you for X we are doing. I got repeatedly told insurance would cover my claim - which didn't happen. Plumbing: came separately and wanted to do another inspection, opened up the drywall for $375 and quoted a fix for $1350. I later found out the issue they identified was completely wrong. They didn't need to open up the drywall, and the $1350 fix was not needed as well. I paid another plumber and he found that I just needed to turn my shower arm a few more turns to stop the leak. read more

If breaking something, they do not replace at their cost, only minor repair to such unless customer pays "at cost". Basically witnessed no pride in work or journeymen level expectation. I had a great experience with Ally Plumbing and their technician Donny. My tankless water heater which they installed 8 yrs ago was not performing well for either hot water or radiant heating. Donny was extremely thorough in identifying the issue and diagnosed that the unit I had was not the right size for my home. In addition the piping was inefficient and not up to code. They offered to refund the prior install, designed a sleek solution with a new combi boiler and somehow managed to make everything fit perfectly into the very small mechanical room in my home. This was a complicated install made even more challenging by the small space, but Donny's workmanship and problem-solving was excellent. They were able to accommodate my schedule, finished on time and were collaborative with me throughout the process and helped me land on a solution and price that I was satisfied with. My home has never been this comfortably heated in the winter before while not compromising on hot water in the bathroom and kitchen. A couple of days before they were scheduled to start a gentleman came by and looked and tweaked the bid, ensured materials were available and answered all my questions and offered alternatives on how to do the job. This made me think these guys were different. On D-Day they came on time, were organized, had what they needed. They cleaned up their mess at the end of the day, the employees were focused on the job & not their phones, they treated my home like it was theirs (no they didn't sit on my couch with their bootless feet on the ottoman), their work was spot on and looked great. This was definitely a breath of fresh air. My wife and I were dumb dumbs and put pine wood cat litter down our toilet. It stopped up and, because the blockage was after the point where the shower, sink, and toilet pipes joined to go to the main sewer, I couldn't get enough pressure with a plunger to free it up. Zach, our technician, had pull the toilet, put a camera down the sewer line and put in a tremendous amount of upper body work to clear the blockage (which seemed to close in on itself when he pierced through it. It looked like quick sand). He then reset the toilet with a new wax seal. We liked Zach. He was personable, professional, and gives you the impression that he genuinely wants to get the problem fixed rather than mindlessly completing another call. They were kind to give a discount. The technicians went all out to make sure second day they came in to check all the outlets had hot water and even adjusted the settings after swapping the mixing value to a new one. For payment miscommunication from the office, I got charged because the cheque was not accepted when I had initially had offered to pay through zelle. But the lady insisted on cheque.. finally settled it with a additional payment of $35 through zelle (there are no limits for zelle transfer which I was told initially). Overall I was very satisfied with Ally's service from the initial communication, estimate, and the actual work. Our water heater suddenly stopped working on Nov 26, Tuesday of Thanksgiving week. I asked multiple contractors for a quote through Yelp, and Ally was one of them. They responded on the same day and offered an on-site estimate on Friday. I was impressed by their quick and clear communication. The estimate visit was also impressive. Our assigned technician Paul gave us clear explanation and answered all of my questions. And he kindly suggested to install an optional valve on the hot water pipe which I didn't have. It really made sense to me and Paul was the only technician who pointed that out. We schedule installation on Tuesday morning, and he showed up on time. We have a shoes-off policy, and he kindly respected that on both visit. During replacement, there were a couple of minor issues. One of them was a clearance problem between a new tank's strap and a closet door. We found it out after installation was done. To solve it, he drained water again, rotated a tank a little bit, and performed post-installation checks again. That was very kind. He simply explained a couple of new features of the tank. After everything is done, needless to day, we got back hot water! No problem at all so far. The price wasn't the cheapest among contractor we asked for a quote, but it was fair.
