Sol Landscaping was one of the companies who responded to my Yelp request for a big one-time cleanup and also a contract for once a month maintenance. Marisol and one of her workers showed up for the estimate and although there was a bit of a language issue, she seemed honest and sincere. She saw what needed to be done and gave me an estimate of about $3000. I thought the price was fair and hired them to do the spring cleanup. The maintenance price she quoted was $300 per visit. Before cleanup day, I marked with fluorescent paint the weedy areas and shrubs that need to be pruned out to make things easier, so there would be no mistakes (none of the workers spoke English, although I think they could understand it). The cleanup itself went very smoothly and they left the properties spotless. However, getting them to come out for a maintenance visit went the opposite way. Marisol wouldn't commit, and I called and texted several times to make an appointment. Finally she said they could fit me in the next day and I said okay. But no one showed up. When I called again, she said someone had gotten sick so they'd try again in a couple days. Again, a no-show. I finally gave up. It was apparent they were just happy to do the one big job and move on. I wanted to give two stars TBH for the frustration. But they did do the one big cleanup well. Unfortunately I am still on the hunt for a skilled landscaping maintenance company.

It was obvious that they are experienced professionals, and they took great care in making sure the wall was built correctly according to industry standards including creating a level stable gravel base, setting up the drainage, and perfectly straight lines of the wall on a sloped surface. They also included the planting, weed fabric and mulch below the wall and grass seed on top which made it low maintenance for me. It was easy to communicate with Ed. As a company they were very responsive to various questions I had before and during the process and their proposal provided detailed information about how the work would be done. They worked hard but also efficiently and got the prep work and wall completed in a week, including the removal of a very thick layer of ivy and groundcover before starting the building. He called before arriving and immediately complained about how difficult it was to find my house. I stayed on the phone to guide him in--despite the fact that DoorDash comes here daily without any issues--but he grew frustrated and seemed unable to follow even simple directions. When he pulled into the driveway, he refused to get out of his vehicle because I "had a big dog," even though this same company has been to my property multiple times every year for sprinkler service. We pointed out where the main valve was, and instead of doing the job he was scheduled for, he told my daughter to "forget it," saying it was too difficult and that he had three other jobs to do. This appointment was set by their office, not me. Because I wasn't home at that moment, he called me rude and said he wasn't doing the job at all. I told him to leave my property since he had been disrespectful from the start. He began yelling, so I hung up, and he even called me back afterward, which I did not answer. Overall, extremely unprofessional behavior, unnecessary attitude, and zero accountability. I will not be using this company again and would not recommend them based on this experience.
