I have been going to Crystal Lake Dental Associates since 2021 as a patient of Dr Rosalyn Vesquez…read more I was born and raised in Malaysia, where I fear going to the dentist. Doctor Rosalyn and her team took me in as her personal project. She continued to encourage good oral hygiene, and I never felt once that I was being judged for my lack of dental care. I here come after four years, six crowns, six fillings, and four wisdom tooth extractions. I can say I am qualified for a fair review for Crystal Lake Dental Associated. Every time I visit the dentist, I always feel at home. Becky, with her sparkling pink standley mug, greeted me with a big smile when I first walked into the dentist. Crystal, the manager, has helped me several times in answering questions regarding my out-of-pocket cost and assisted me in putting together an estimate of cost for FSA purposes every end of the year. Needless to say, they are the backbone of making a great customer experience for me. Secondly, I have to take some time to highlight the harmonic when the doctor works with the dentist's assistance. I have had the opportunity to be cared for by dentist assistants Barb and Leidy. When Rosalyn worked with Leidy on my teeth, I felt like they were harmonizing a dance. From the exchange of dentist equipment to requesting suction tools for saliva, They complement each other without much conversation; it felt like a well-choreographed dance between Leidy and Rosalyn when they worked together. I was just there for the show; the experience was magical. Last but not least, Doctor Rosalyn takes pride in her work; she is a perfectionist. I sometimes heard her admire and also excited about her previous dental work on me. After reviewing my lengthy review, I would say you should jump on it if you are still deciding whether Crystal Lake Dental Associate, especially Doctor Rosalyn, is a good choice for dentist service.

(1 was knocked by another doctor- so not their fault) I was also made aware of a change in treatment while in the chair with the gas on and unable to actually talk. It was unprofessional to say the least. Rachel and Amanda are amazing but the new hygienist made me very uncomfortable. I didn't really need to hear about her life. Dr. Kyle is a likeable guy but he bowls over you and tells the same stories repeatedly. He told me about his trans biker patient 6 different times. I just can't recommend this place anymore.

He said I needed the cavity redone on the tooth next to it too. I feel it was just for $$$ because that one was small and not failing. The new crown feels like he didn't get all the root out when doing the root canal. I still have sensitivity when I touch it with my tongue. Also during that root canal/crown job he kept knocking my front tooth crown with his instruments. Hard enough for me to say something, however with all the crap in my mouth and his lacking bedside manner he didn't pay it any mind. A few weeks later that crown fell out. Had it for 15 years, no problems. Now shortly after it constantly is banged it just falls out while eating. No pop or knock when it happened. Definitely don't think it was because of the food. He's obsessed with TMJ, and even though I have it I also have no issues. Pushed for a mouth guard but it caused pain on my cheek to wear it overnight. He basically reacted like tough cookies there's nothing I can do. Additionally my husband still has his wisdom teeth, recommended he went to an OS to get them removed. OS said no leave em. Dr. gets all huffy puffy. He's not a nice guy to say the least. When we moved to the area I wish we went with someone else because now I have more issues than when I started. For basic cleanings I'd say they're fine but for actual dental work, I'd stay away!

I was looking for a…read morenew dentist because mine had retired and made an appointment for a cleaning at her office. (I have had cleanings every 6 months my whole life as my teeth are very important to me.) The hygienist Carol was amazing. Friendly, professional and welcoming. After my cleaning and x-rays, in walks Amanda Henry... unprofessional and intimidating....even though I did need some catching up with my dental work she couldn't bring herself to present it in a positive way so that I would not be overwhelmed. She was 'astonished' at all the work that needed to be done and said she would not trust the work of any other dentist and that my crowns all needed to be redone. I was gut punched and felt I must have done a terrible job of taking care of my teeth. Curious about her next approach, I signed up for the consultation. (They have a conference room right there in the office where they regularly meet with their patients to present the thousands of dollars for their treatment plans) The office manager presented the treatment plan which was $24,000. The dentist Amanda was only present for the first few minutes to once again tell me she had not seen such a bad case. Then the 'office manager' proceeded to tell me they were going to redo crowns in six phases in groups of 2's and 3's. They offer sedation as I would be more comfortable since I would be in the chair for several hours as her staff would do a lot of the work and she would be present for some of the work. I had to ask as we went down the list for her to explain the problem and the work that was going to be done on each tooth....had to ask the office manager.....I was told this treatment couldn't wait and should be done at once....they have financing available!! I have since been accessed by a different dentist and have had one cavity fixed with one crown to fix...nothing else urgent. Please do not put yourself through this...dentistry gouging at its best.

This dentist is A-OK for us. I feel like I need to write a positive review on the actual dental…read moreservices, other than what it costs. Let's face it, dentists are not cheap. We should have all become dentists. Our problems would be a thing of the past. I've always found their office staff to be extremely pleasant and willing to work with you on scheduling. Their hygenist is the BOMB. She's so great and gentle. Dr. Steve is awesome and he's always had a straight-up attitude with me. I had an emergency with my crown and they got me in right away and put me out of my misery. They don't offer payment plans, but they do take Care Credit. I use that for many medical procedures, vet bills, salon procedures, you name it. It takes the credit risk off them, which I can understand from their perspective. Why did I not give this 5 stars? A while back, they had a Dr. Lee, who was supposed to take off a bad filling and put on a crown. He didn't do a great job and left me with a hyper-sensitive tooth (hence, emergency crown visit above). So that whole experience did make me a little gun-shy about whether I needed that in the first place. Dr. Lee has long been gone, and everyone else is great. Their dental assistants have always been really nice and pleasant. We've been patients here since 2009. They are a preferred provider of my dental insurance, which is why we have stayed with them.

It took my mouth, ONE WEEK, for it to heal! I do not recommend their service, as they kept telling me to take antibiotics, even though it was not the issue, and it could've been prevented, if they did not open my jaw for too long, or did not stay in one place to numb my mouth for 4-5 minutes. I was supposed to do one more filling, but didn't proceed, due to the pain, and would really like my money back, for lying!
