Our project was large, including new LVP in the entire house except for one bedroom. It entailed removing existing laminate, carpet, and sheet vinyl (which means particle board base). Sam and his crew also removed all baseboard in the entire house and replaced with new. From the very beginning Sam was very helpful in offering suggestions and providing resources to select the flooring and base board that was perfect for our home. Throughout the process he was responsive and prompt and could always be counted on to follow through with his commitments. When it came time to demo and install, we had some special circumstances as my husband is disabled, and as the work progressed - we had to make sure that there was always a clear path for him to maneuver and a comfortable and undisturbed space him to be. Sam made it a priority to create a plan that served our needs - at times at the cost of what was most timely or easiest for him. He did this with a kind heart and a very respectful attitude. It meant the world to us. At the end of this story - our project was completed beautifully and flawlessly. We could not be happier with the upgrade to our home. This is in my parents home and apparently carpeting bathrooms was a thing in the 70's. Sam came by to have a look a day or two after we first connected thru Yelp and scheduled the job a few days after that. Sam is very knowledgeable about all types of flooring and shares his experiences and recommendations in a positive and easy-to-understand manner. He does not sell flooring but he knows how and where to get the right stuff. He was sending me links for baseboard at 9:30pm! Sam showed up ON TIME even after stopping by Lowes to pick up some materials I purchased online. Once he got here, he immediately started working and when finished he thoroughly cleaned up. Now for some details: We bought an apartment in Portland but we were still living in NYC, so the entire renovation was done remotely. Anton was very easy to communicate with. He handled receiving all the materials and fixtures, and even let me send some items to his home (like a bathtub!) so it doesn't disturb my new neighbors. He also brought in my regular mail. I actually got compliments from my neighbors for how Anton's workers helped them with some random stuff. Anton promised and delivered on finishing the renovation before we moved in. While it was a pretty tight schedule, I kept making it harder on Anton by increasing the scope as the renovation progressed (because I was so happy with the work). Even though I kept adding more work, Anton was still able to finish everything by the time we moved in. He and his team are very dedicated hard workers. There are no surprises when you get the bill either, prices are given upfront and that's what you see at the end. As for the work itself - very high quality throughout the vast range of different tasks (flooring, replacing exterior windows, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, replacing kitchen counter etc.). Anton was able to squeeze every inch of space, upgrading our kitchen substantially - shifting some existing cabinets to make more room for a bigger fridge, increasing the size of the sink to the absolute maximum given the existing cabinets (which we didn't want to replace) and even installing an imported faucet that doesn't match the US voltage (for boiling water) or plumbing fittings. It involved not only sanding and refinishing, but leveling the kitchen floors and lacing in new wood with the old in multiple places, several patches, installing all new baseboards, and some creative problem-solving to work the quarter round around the floor vents. He also built a new cover for my crawl space entry to match the flooring around it. Throughout the job, Mike was responsive, friendly, patient, respectful, and worked with a high level of integrity and transparency. He was genuinely fantastic to work with - I never felt like I was being brushed off or taken advantage of (as opposed to some other contractors I've encountered). He finished the job on time and on budget and I'd absolutely hire him again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone who needs flooring install/updates!

(Sorry, I don't remember the details of brand, etc. but I'd bet they could find it for you.). I was sad that I put a ding in the floor within the first month. We've had several since then -- dropped sharp painting tools, shattered a plate, child dropped a sharp knife straight down ... real life happened. I took a long time to give this review because I was so disappointed about the damage. BUT, the flooring looks beautiful, feels like real wood, the medium tones go very well with our oak cabinets and other existing wood furniture. I've come to realize that ANY flooring would be affected by sharp tools and knives. It has been recommended that I purchase MinWax markers to easily make the sight of the dings disappear - I just haven't done it yet. Kurt was very helpful in getting us a color-matched tube of a repair material -- we haven't tried that yet either. Installation went well: Gabriel & Miriam were the sub-contracted couple who did the work. Very polite, hard-working; we were very pleased that they were the ones doing the work. We can highly recommend All About Floors NW for your flooring project.

Mike came over and spent a lot of time with me and helped me fix the problem. He was knowledgeable, very careful and made sure to test an area in my pantry to make sure that the floor looked good. He found a solution that eliminated all of the scratches on our floor and provided a very reasonable price quote to do a screening and cover the floor with a new layer of sealer. I was very impressed by Mike, I found him to be honest and knowledgeable. I would hire him in a heartbeat and highly recommend him!
