I was very impressed with All Carpet Repair. I just bought a new house. The thing that jumped out at me was on his website (a basic but effective one) explained how he uses a power stretcher as opposed to just doing kickers. I have an uncle in the carpet industry and talked with him about it. He recommended I NOT do it myself and confirmed the power stretcher is better. Pat's website made a lot of sense to me and combined with overall good reviews on yelp I chose his business. There were several rooms on one floor with big wrinkles in the carpet as well as my dining room on the main floor. I made a call and had an estimated amount of square footage for a quote. Pat said he preferred to come over and see for himself to provide a quote. This was a good thing for me. He came over (on time with agreed appointment) and looked at the four bedrooms, large hallway in between, and the dining room. The impressive part to me was he said I shouldn't need to stretch one of the smaller bedrooms. (How often does a repairman tell you work you DON'T need done!) He gave me a price quote then I remembered he hadn't looked at the dining room yet. He looked at it, recommended only stretching one heavy traffic corner instead of the entire room. He said it would be simple enough and added it to the already provided quote at no cost. I found the price to be very fair, for essentially 3 large rooms, a medium room, and a wide hallway. The day came for him to do the work. He and his assistant, Becky, came over and began going to town on the carpet. It was very impressive watching. I peeked around the corner wanting to see but not wanting to impose and he invited me in to watch. It was enjoyable to watch the process. He is a very sociable guy as well as Becky. We talked for about the first hour and half or so as they were working away. Pad did the major labor cutting and stretching, Becky was helping clean up, brushing out creases and other misc. work as Pat worked away. In the rooms he stretched and trimmed away up to approximately 3 inches of excess carpet in some places. I would absolutely agree with him that people should use power stretchers for the major part of a carpet installation as opposed to the kickers. Pat also patched portions of the carpets that were offset from the walls as the carpet was pushed away from corners. He used parts of the trimmings to patch those portions. During our discussion (Including my discussing my uncle's work in the industry) Pat mentioned a significant part of his work is repairing carpets for renters who don't want to lose their deposits. Makes a lot of sense there. He also discussed how when he works with a furnished (my house is still empty) he uses sliders under the furniture and is able to easily shuffle furniture around, with Becky's help of course, and take care of clients without their having to clear out all the furnishings. Kudos for ingenuity there. He finished up the work, the spaces were clean of loose carpet fibers, largely thanks to Becky, and he was out the door. As we closed with the payment he said if there are any issues with the stretch down the road simply call him and he will come in and take care of it at no cost. Lifetime guarantee on the work. I am sure the work will hold up as I saw first hand how much better and tighter the carpet is. He and Becky were full of carpet care pointers such as purchasing extra carpet with a new carpet purchase in case repairs are needed, using simple water and a towel to clean high traffic locations etc. Another thing I appreciated was he discussed his assessment of the carpet quality. He said it was a good thick, tight nap and should hold up for a long time. He estimated if I were to have replaced the carpet with equivalent quality it would run about $5,000-$6,000 with material and labor for the 5 areas. My real estate agent agreed that sounded about right when I shared that info with her. I liked his work, Becky and he were very sociable and friendly. He gave good advice and even a follow up courtesy email in the evening. I am glad to support a good local businessman. I definitely recommend his services. read more

I appreciated that Pat was willing to come do the job of re-stretching and affixing my basement carpet after a washing machine spill in a short period of time. He wasn't the least expensive deal when I called around but competitive in terms of pricing. I'd have given more stars, but I'm not super satisfied with the end result. The carpet is lumpy near the edge, and I can tell the padding wasn't cut right to end so you can feel it underfoot or if you run your hand near where it reaches to the laminate. When I told him afterward (he had left a tool and wanted to pick it back up) he blamed it on the carpet padding I had pre-purchased for him to use from Home Depot as being "irregular."
