Also, park in no parking spots and drive their vehicle through the grass lots where the waterfowl graze to eat. The waterfowl, ducks, geese live at the park, have respect for them, if not trash your own property. If you feed the animals, don't give them bread it is bad for them. If you don't believe so Google it. If you happen to be someone who has the no care, no respect attitude and think you are above it all, don't visit the park. Most respect the park and want it to thrive for years to come so the children can enjoy it.

There is also a nice soccer goal as well. My son loves playing here with his daddy and kicking the ball into the net. There are several tables around the playground. And it's just steps away from all the restaurants and bars of Fell's Point. This is such a nice spot for the kids and adults. Coming here is easy with the kids and pairing it with a dinner out.

With double the size of fenced in area previously there, there is plenty of room to kick or toss a ball, run around and play in the grass. They have also replaced the small older jungle gym with a huge playground. It has 5 slides, monkey bars, two climbing walls, a rope walk, and various areas to climb and run along. Plenty of room for a dozen or more kids without them running into each other. There are also areas to hide and seek, wheels to turn and little games to play. In all it's a beautiful little park. So why not 5 stars? They've left an odd 4 foot area unfenced. Not sure if they're just waiting for a special gate (the renovation was completed less than 4 weeks ago) or if this is a planned design but it makes it so that you have to watch the littles to make sure they don't dash out the door, so to speak, and right into the road. On a much smaller note, there are no swings, but this is not such a loss as there is so much else to do out there. Great walk, great weather, great park. Come on out and join us!

That said, I went to West Shore Park to attend Feastival this past weekend and the park was the perfect venue for the event. The grass is pretty lush, yet even, perfect for walking on without tripping. It was easy to get to each vendor since the park isn't big (unlike events at the Zoo). I would not recommend this park for recreation/play, but for an outdoor event, heck yeah!

Not very well maintained due to covid. I couldn't find a staff member and I got off the highway to use the restroom. I ended up using a porta potty (a man has to do what a man has to do) the day was beautiful and the signs were non existent. I tried to read the descriptions of the park and different landmarks, but they were destroyed and missing.

I've been coming for years and they have still maintained this park from 2001 when my oldest was born until now in 2025. The grounds are always maintained, plenty of parking, and grills. The pavilions have outlets and plenty of space. I can appreciated this park being maintained throughout the years. The park rangers are knowledgeable , helpful and nice.

The Hammerman area has a small beach, with sand and grass options. The water was a great temperature both times we went, and the water is not at all gross like I was expecting. You can go in without any water shoes. There is a building with showers, changing rooms, bathroom, water fountains, vending machines. It is close enough to walk to from the picnic table area that has grills and a large pit for hot coals. One huge downside was that I did not notice any trash cans in the area nearby. I want to go back to try some of the trails nearby.

We've been a few times and the space is always clean and quiet. There are a few trashcans around, so I recommend bringing an extra bag to tie up trash in since trash cans are few. There's a small lot designated for the park and free on-street parking. The tot lot has a playground and swings. Nothing fancy, but serves its purpose. I haven't seen this area overly crowded. Good option to not fight crowds and a range of age groups. There are no restrooms.
