This place seems to be a bit of an enigma. When I first looked it up several months ago I found a web page for a menu but it hadn't been updated in a year or two. Just now I looked again and there's no sign of them even having a dining area much less, what the daily menu might be. Compare that to BSA where at any time you can look up their menu to see what they are serving. I went here a couple weeks ago about 5:30 p.m. which I thought would be a safe time, right in the middle of a normal dinner time. But they had very few offerings. There was a fairly extensive salad bar so that's what I got. Everything else except for maybe pizza seemed to be closed for the day. I think someone told me those foods are only available until 2:30. But as I was leaving I saw people lined up to order hamburgers from the grill so that information given to me must have been incorrect. I could have gotten a hamburger or something instead of, or to go along with, my salad. The salad itself was perfectly good. Certainly not gourmet, nor did I expect that. I have noticed that all hospital cafeterias seem to serve food that I do not personally consider overly healthy, laden with chemicals, preservatives, fillers and excessive salt and sugar. I would expect better from a hospital than from a restaurant. At BSA they definitely have a 10% senior discount. At Northwest there didn't seem to be any such thing and I think I did remember to ask about it but the employee was far from friendly and pretty much ignored my question. I was charged by the pound for the salad and it came to $8. I just noticed at the top of the receipt it says the Blue Point Cafe so I will try googling that to see if any more information comes up. The foods on the menu that sounded good would only be available at lunch time I guess. I didn't get a picture of the salad bar but I did get a picture of my actual salad. It was a warm enough day that it did hit the spot. I love desserts but none of theirs looked appealing enough to buy. A different person might find something they liked though. If you happen to be visiting someone in the hospital then I'm sure this place would do the job. I do think that the employees need to be a little more welcoming. I realize it's not a restaurant but basic human decency says people should be pleasant and friendly and helpful to each other. The people at BSA have always been so to me. I can't help but compare the two since they are both hospital cafeteria type places. read more

ER staff at the front desk were extremely rude. Laughing and giggling with their co-workers when two worried parents were told just sit down and give us a few minutes when the paramedics said for us to go ahead and go in the room our daughter was in. I get that you are at your job working but I think you need to be more considerate of someone public comes in rather than laughing and giggling while they are at your window. read more

Today I took someone in who has no health insurance for a sprained hand which we thought was broken, the big guy who works in registration told her that her bill was $998 but that if she paid $250 today or within 24 hours that it would wipe out her ER visit cost. At no time did the big guy explain that she would still have an additional bill coming to her from the doctor who treated her so she pulled out her last money and paid the $250 only for the big guy in registration to tell her about the additional bill after he tricked her into signing the paperwork and paying. If we knew that she was going to have an additional bill we would of gotten her on a payment plan instead of having her wipe out her last money to pay this bill thinking she would have one less stress, on top of having to be out of work the next few days. This is very unprofessional and I want to bring this to the table for others to be aware of how they handle things in registration instead of being honest. read more

The head nurse will literally lie to you about something that's not wrong with you and not take care of the actual problem that you are there for. She's lucky I don't know her name. My daughter was in the ER last night and was treated very poorly. She has an extensive, rare health history and has standing emergency orders by her specialist that any care provider can access. The N.P. did not follow any of those orders and stated my daughter could take that up with the doctor up on the floor in the morning !! Has this N.P. had any experience with sepsis??? My daughter waited 9 hours in the ER to be admitted ( and she never was) being ignored and in pain. She was not even given a blanket! She had no call light and was tethered to an IV pole that was attached to the gurney she had been placed on. After 5 hours was finally given a small dose of IV morphine that did not control her pain. A second dose was requested hours after the initial dose, an employee promised to bring it to her but never came back. My daughter has a compromised immune system due to having cancer and chemo and radiation yet there was no attempt by staff to keep her away from other patients who were having active diarrhea right next to her and violent coughing. This ER visit probably did more harm than good. Whoever the N.P. was she is incompetent and obviously is without critical thinking skills. She ignored the standing emergency orders documented in my daughter's chart. She ignored my daughter's history of rapidly progressing to sepsis. She did not make herself available . I will be contacting the ER director and will go up the ranks with hospital administration as needed. This treatment is not acceptable in any healthcare facility. read more

The new facility Northwest Texas ER at Eastern was one of if not the worst experience we have ever had. We were visiting from out of town during the holidays and my wife became ill. She is a disabled veteran and although they do have a VA ER here we were informed that they were very busy and a very long wait time. We decided to go to the above mentioned ER which stated I'm their marquee out side that the wait time was 3 minutes. The receptionist was very rude and was not helpful at all. After several minutes of back and forth regarding insurance and billing she finally gave us the paperwork to register in. A family of five enter a few minutes behind us. We waited 15 to 20 minutes before called in however the family that came in behind us were called in almost immediately.The nursing staff were rude and unfriendly. Felt like we were bothering them. This place was not busy at all. Dr was sitting down on his phone, I realize it may have been a work call but based on his body language it looked like a personal call. It took about 15 minutes before he came into the room and said he would be back when they had flu/covid results. It was about 20 minutes before he came back, positive for Flu. Dr provided prescription sent us on our way. Before leaving I had to use the restroom. There were two available and I unfortunately picked the one that was filthy, toilet paper on the floor, no soap, trash overflowing and vomit on the wall. I did inform the security guard who by the way was the only nice and helpful person. He did explain that the cleaning crew did not work on weekends. Yuck. I have since heard from family and friends that they have had similar issues at this ER. Thank you for letting tell you about our experience. I hope things change at this establishment so that othes do not have to go through the same experience. Went in for a covid test a week befor my wedding to get better and ended up with a 6,342 doller bill waited to get my bill in the mail and when it arrived I had a due date to pay it off two days later. Northwest emergency Clinic on Tascosa Road , What a Joke, hear my story. My husband was in severe pain on Sunday evening about 8 pm, took him to this Clinic because it was closer to our home. When we arrive their were only two cars in the parking lot and I think it was staff because their were no one in the waiting room I thought it was closed. I go inside to get help to get my husband out the car I needed it help because he was weak from throwing up all afternoon and he had bad stomach pain, I didn't no what was going on with him. He wears a pacemaker and defibrillator. I ask the receptionist for help getting him out the car because he was weak and I couldn't manage on my own, She Told they couldn't help because not enough staff and it was their policy not to help patients out of the vehicle. I have never never heard of this, your a freaking clinic and you can't help someone who could be having a heart attack , What kind of healthcare do we have these days. I'm upset and angry at the lack of concern and help I receive there, you should be ashame of yourself, why be in our community if your not staffed enough, and have such a policy maybe you need to review this policy. read more

Mu daughter had a pre.ie baby born at the hospital and in the NICU so.e of the staff nurses did not or do not follow physicians orders as written making for dangerous patient care. The so called physi Ian's at a so call teaching hospital ate lagging indication and cannot verbally explain what they are doing g or answer family questions s or concerns. .ost of the time physicians on the case are out of the countryand you won't here from them for weeks ay a time. I came in with my nine month old and was called back for my appointment one hour after the scheduled time. My baby had a 99.9 fever at the time of appointment (after Tylenol) the doctor was super dismissive and said that she was perfectly healthy. The dr did not even listen to her lungs or check her belly, she just looked in her ears and sent us out the door Five minutes later with no medicine. 9 pm the same day I took her to the emergency room with a 102.2 fever (after Tylenol and a cold bath) she was diagnosed with bronchiolitis. Just a quick listen to her lungs and the doctor should have known. $500 copay at the Er an $100 copay at the urgent care. This place is a JOKE!!!! read more

Horrible hospital. My grandma was in a car accident in Amarillo and they supposedly did a ct scan but said there was nothing wrong. 10 days later she is still in pain so I took her to another hospital and they found 2 broken ribs. Do not recommend this hospital for trauma. read more

Based on the terrible patient service and assistance from Bonnie who works in the back of ER and because of her bitchy attitude am giving a 1 star. I had a thyroid surgery and a very swollen neck amd was seen in the er and discharged to get get a liquid pain reliever. The pharmacy that it was called into did not carry the product and the pharmacist told me that I had to have the doctors call it into another store but upon calling Northwest I was treated very rudely and very aggressively by Bonnie I was so appalled by her nasty Behavior towards me when I was trying to ask questions she even told me to be quiet and listen to her when i was asking a question and I have never been spoken that way in my life by an attendant at a hospital I am ashamed that the hospital would hire someone like her and I still have no goddamn meds to help my pain. Nurse Practitioner was dismissive of me, didn't take a history or even touch me/look in my throat when my complaint was a sore throat. When I said my pain was 7/10 and that's why I came to urgent care instead of waiting a week for my PCP. The care my mother received in the E.R. was pitiful. She came in at 10:30 a.m. and was not given a room until 11:30 p.m. My mother is not a complainer but the pain management that she received for her 2 cysts on her ovaries was not what you would expect. One nurse came in and tried to give her ibuprofen. Luckily my sister stopped her before she even got it opened. The doctor who admitted he had gone home of course by the time she got her room and did not respond for hrs after being called to see if she could be given something stronger. The next day we were assured that she would not be sent home without getting her pain under control. This assurance lasted a whole day and they wanted to release her the next day. Student doctors are rude and think they know everything... If medicare was accepted at BSA we would have taken her there. Thankfully I got her an appointment to the mayo clinic within a week. when asked about having her medical records sent to mayo, the staff was horribly rude and made sure we were aware that we would be charged for that as well. The compassion that you would expect when going through something as scary as this was not there for my mother. Avoid this place if at all possible. read more

I took my significant other here. He was in extreme pain. We got there 7:45pm and didn't leave until 1:15 am. The people are greedy and only care about money. They made sure that they get his information before they took his vitals or anything. We shared a bathroom with an inmate from the prison. When the nurse walked in she called him by the wrong name and lost his papers. If he had insurance then we would've gone to BSA. Avoid going there if you can. read more

My mother was admitted 3 weeks ago after having a stroke. The first three days were fine, except she was moved 3 times. Fourth day she went to CICU. The nurses were fine in the beginning but became more & more lax as time passed. She was in CICU for about 6 days, just one day after extubated. The biggest issue with this hospital is the way the doctors & nurses are assigned. She has not had one or even a set of doctors that follow her. Every wing/room a new set of doctors. Nurses constantly changing as well. I order to speak with a doctor, one must just camp-out in the patient's room. Also, NWTHS is supposed to have a stroke center; however, there is no neurologist on staff. I do not recommend. read more

Northwest ER is unacceptable I went there on Jan 9,2017 I was informed I cant use my ER coverage with Prominence HMO because District clinic says not to use the ER because i was in pain and I couldn't control my pain I was hurting and the doctors were rude and obnoxious and and think about themselves this is one of the reason I left Prominence I never been treated so badly by a healthcare professional thats why I will use BSA and not Northwest ER i changed to Care Improvement Plus on 3/1/2017 and it rolled over to 6/1/2017 because of a error Medicare made and I couldn't be more happier because I don't have to deal with Prominence HMO read more

My husband was hospitalized from 7/28 to 9/2 2021 at this facility with covid. My comment is not for the care he received. It is for the lack of compassion for billing. Our bill for ICU was approximately $850,000. Our insurance paid the contracted amount in full. It left a deductible that was owed by us of about 6k. However, my husband is now disabled due to covid. The only options they give is for a payment plan for the total, or a 30% deduction if you can pay in full. The issue we have is that if you are disabled from covid, you obviously are not going back to work. Also...they said if we were uninsured, our bill would have been waived. So they are telling me that they got a huge pay out from our insurance but couldn't waive the 6k for us to not face financial devastation bc they were paid? But if they hadn't gotten anything at all from our insurance, they would have waived the entire $850k?? How does that make sense? This screams scam. Please speak up if you have had the same issue!! read more

DON'T GO HERE!!! Had a family member admitted to the 5th floor. They almost KILLED him!!!! He was misdiagnosed and wanted to perform surgery right away. He was in need of medication and the nurse came back hours later and her words where "Oops, I forgot you needed your medication" Prior to that She attempted to give him an extra dose of medication which would have been fatal. Although, she was pleasant she was incompetent of managing the responsibilities of an R.N The nurse works on the 5th floor south. She has a heavy accent, curly hair and wore a bracelet representing red,black&green. Couldn't pronounce her name. The Doctors have over inflated egos and have no interest in taking the patient's medical history into accountability. So if you have a recurrent issue and there is only 1 way to treat it otherwise it will become life threatening the response you're going to get is getting their degree thrown in your face and your experience does not matter!! It is important for Doctors to listen to the patients and work together in order to better the treatment and Quality of Care. It should be about the patient not about EGOS! Safety first! This hospital does NOT put the patient first!!!! read more

I went there this morning because I was having chest pains. They drew blood and did x rays and came back 4 hours later and informed me nothing was wrong but they wasn't 100 percent sure. Nurse didn't know how to draw blood almost everyone was rude with exception of the guy who brought me my discharge papers. I don't know his name. The nurse I saw was named Shane and he had absolutely no bedside manner. The doctor was named Stephen Neumann. This is some of the worst care I ever got. I see why everyone says go to Lubbock. Stopped here at the ER on a road trip after smashing finger in car door. Staff was very friendly, facility was clean, wait time wasn't bad, and the doctor was very knowledgeable (I think his name was Fred and last name started with a P). He patched up my finger which included a mini surgery to remove fingernail (what was left) and sent on my way with a splint. Overall a great team that did a great job when I was in a bad situation. read more

Their physical therapy team is wonderful. I did not need to wait long for my appointment. I was connected to the therapist who not as friendly as the rest of the group; however, she really knew her stuff and helped me to improve the most. All of them were wonderful and knowledgeable, but she was the best. read more

The staff was fine. But the business office will send you to the poor house. I told them to bill the VA as I am 100% service connected. Instead they chose to bill "medicade". They lied saying they can't. Now I have to get a lawyer to fix this as they must hate either Veterans or the VA. read more

Overall, the lady at the front just told them to sit. I arrived and wanted to ask since so we did know what was going on & make sure my sister was good. Lady at the front looked at me as if I was wasting her time and told me to sit because she was busy checking someone in. Didn't even let me ask. She then proceeded to chat with other nurses laughing and having a good time while we are waiting worried. My sister's husband arrived 10min later and he went to ask and he received a very nice answer right off. I must add my sister's husband is while and my parents and I are Hispanic.
