I had clear aligner treatment at this dental office and I am very disappointed with the experience. 1. They never scheduled a final appointment for me before my move, even though I told them I was leaving and needed to finish my treatment. I had to find another dentist to remove my aligners, and he showed me that one of my teeth was still crooked after I paid around $5,000. 2. When they did X-rays and a cleaning, no one clearly explained there would be extra charges for the images. The final bill was higher than I expected and did not feel transparent. 3. The dentist told me I needed a crown and that I had many cavities. A second opinion from another dentist confirmed that I did not need a crown and that I did not have all those cavities. I took my business elsewhere after 11 years, due to Dr. Hernandez and his staff medically gaslighting me that I needed to have ALL of my amalgam fillings replaced, when they were in perfect condition, including one that went to the edge of the molar, which would have destroyed it. This goes against ADA and FDA medical ethics. I've also been phone stalked by Maria, who fits the behavioral pattern of a covert narcissist and the other staff, to pressure me into buying expensive and unnecessary dental services, as well as having to argue with her when I came in with a broken tooth. Irene Blaess does not provide a physical oral exam, with a dental explorer for her patients, she only gives treatment plans by looking at the x-rays and a dental photo of the inside of your mouth. She charged my husband 1500. for deep scaling, and I took him to another dentist, and they confirmed that the deep scaling was not done correctly. They diagnostic him with another deep scaling just two months later. I would not recommend Irene Blaess! And do not get me started with her staff! omg you have to call 4 times if you need x-rays transfer to another office or anything else. read more

Terrible experience, I started the whole process as directed with them and I went in with absolutely no pain only for cosmetic reason. They perform cleanings and fillings on my right side and a few months later I still cannot chew and the sensitivity is ridiculous. Went in multiple times for "adjustments" and they even tried 3d scanning my mouth again but it seems they could not identify the doctor's incompetence as I now have to get all of it removed and re done to correct the possible pockets/gaps left causing pain and discomfort months after. Went to get a routine cleaning and establish new dentist since we just moved to the San Antonio area. My daughter and I were both setup for appointments that she was not at all happy with, they left white gunk on her teeth that we had to come home to get off before taking her back to school. She didn't say anything cause she was avoiding being difficult. I was asked by the dentist where she gets her braces done I told her corpus and I was told "you might wanna think of moving it closer to home...." Which I won't cause I'm perfectly happy driving to Corpus where my daughter is happy with her orthodontist. Then I was asked when I had my last cleaning , I responded and told her about 2 years due to my pancreatic cancer diagnosis and my work schedule (I work off shore 270 days a year) it was difficult concentrating on my teeth cleaning cause I was going to doctors appointments 3-4 times a week for my cancer. I am now pancreatic cancer free and want to get my dental health in check because I've been diagnosed with lung cancer now which I will have to do chemo for. I need to be as healthy as I can, understanding that the dentist decided she's gonna lecture me on the importance of dental health, how chemo works, how her mom had cancer, her friend had cancer, so she knows a lot about cancer. All the meanwhile my 10 year old daughter is in the next room listening to a grown adult lecturing her father on what chemo does to the body. I went through a year of chemo for pancreatic cancer which has a 9% survival rate. To be alive is a miracle but to be lectured by a dentist is the most offensive thing anyone can do. I'm not an oncologist or a chemotherapy professional but I certainly know she has no clue on what it does the body. It happened to my body, I know how I feel and I know what it does my body. I felt uncomfortable at that point so I walked out and consoled my daughter who was crying about this whole situation. She is the most unprofessional health care worker I've ever encountered. I'm sure she's a great dentist to others but just not for me. I have to fight lung cancer now I don't need to be ridiculed and lectured by a dentist, we're going through enough as it is. No privacy while visiting. Please carefully check your insurance claims, they will make claims for services not rendered ahead of time before even seeing you. Also they will bill you for procedures that were not done. My visit felt more like a car dealer, I felt pressured to get a "treatment" plan that is not even necessary, they will tell you that you have disease and then offer you their "treatment" plan, if you decline they will tell you, "if you get it now i will discount it for you". Are you a customer or a patient? The staff will also automatically book appointments for you without your authorization, if you dont show up they will also charge you $50 per visit you miss that you did not request. BEWARE please, this place is a scam, sure everyone plays nice, but the fact that they're trying to milk money out of the insurance for services not performed leaves a lot to question. I don't even know where to start! From the first inquiring call I made to scheduling my next apt in a couple weeks I have been blown away at their level of knowledge and care and genuine customer care they offer! Long story short, I went to another dentist because a friend recommended them only to enjoy the checkin and people in the front desk and quickly realize it was a front and a facade. The dentist in the back was rude and didn't want to fully numb me to complete a root canal and after 4 times numbing she gave up and threw the tools down and told me to go to another specialist for the root canal just to come back for some excessive cleaning. Basically it was just not a good experience at all!!! I called into NorthWoods Dental Spa and spoke with Maria who is a an absolute doll! She walked me through all the steps and what I need and they need to get things rolling and has me into the office the next day at 10am! I show up and they are SO overly welcoming and got me back talking to Dr Blasse and fell in love with this dentist office! She walked in and knew exactly what to say and to ask about how the pain comes across. I had troubles being numbed enough for a root canal but she pulled out all the tricks of the trade and by the time I knew it, the root canal was done!!! No pain, no discomfort no nothing! Then she explained what all was needing to happen in the next appointment and introduced me to the hygienist, I can't remember her name , came in and just took this to the next level! She explained what she was doing, why she was doing it and got the deepest cleaning to the point where I can FEEL MY TEETH CLEAN! Then walked me through her tips and tricks for a better clean, of which I have never heard but am most definitely using from now on, and passed me on to the front desk where the process was seamless! I literally wanted to hug every person in the office because I went from wanting to cry because of such a horrid experience to finding my new life long dentist! So I've been here twice now. Once for X-rays and an exam and then today for my first extraction- who needs wisdom teeth anyway?! They entire staff here is so friendly and sweet. They really make you feel super comfortable and they explain everything to you in detail. No awkward, sitting in silence scared outta your mind here!! So.... I was terrified to get my tooth pulled. Btw, your wisdom teeth are HUGE. Like, giant ass teeth!! I had no idea until after words when I asked to see it. (I'll spare y'all a pic this time) l would have never known it was that big by how little I felt when it was being pulled. It was like a lot of pressure and then ya-da... Done!! If you've had a c section you know what pressure I'm talking about. It's exactly like that but in your mouth. Birthing a baby tooth lol I was mostly scared about the shots to numb me but that was nothing too. I only went here to use my Amazon voucher for a one hr Swedish massage by Monica and OMG!!! Ammmazing! I don't know if it was the fact I was so stressed and exhausted or she is just that fantastic but I am blown away! Monica gave def one of my top five massages ever. Horrible service. front desk is polite, but we were fed nothing but excuses and lies regarding our order of Invisaline. After paying for the dental visit and paying for the Invisaline (two months ago), numerous trips 3.5hrs away (daughter goes to college out of town), we still don't have the product. There staff has insinuated they called and left messages, however we have no missed calls, no messages, no "recent" calls from them for over 4 weeks. We were told there are supplier issues (I can see that) and that was the delay. We instructed them to just mail the product to the daughter at college and they agreed. After 3 more weeks, no product at college. Another call into the office and I'm told they can not mail the product because it requires a doctor visit. Would have been nice to get a call to inform us of that. Office says they did call. Checked phone records and zero (0) missed calls, zero (0) messages, zero (0) recent calls. This constitutes a bold face lie from the staff. To date, daughter has made two (2) round trips from college to get this product. That'a 3.5 hrs each way, plus another 1hr from our house to the office (4.5hrs, 1 way). That's 18hrs & 584 miles. We have spent $94 in fuel alone, not counting loss of wages for having to take off 18hrs for these visits. masked to speak to manager, was told "Michael" runs both locations and he's only at current location in the mornings. I asked for him to call me back. No call back as of yet. I asked for a meeting with the dentist and the Manager to discuss their solutions and what they plan to do, or how they plan to rectify and/ or compensate us for this horrible debacle. I've been going here for about 2 years now. I first found this place after having a bad experience at another dentist and a friend recommend I check this place out. I've always had a good experience with them. They are kind, helpful, and always make me feel at ease. I had a wisdom tooth come in once and was in extreme pain. I called them and they got me an appointment right away and got my tooth out within 15-30 minutes. They were fast, quick, and efficient. I've also had 2 fillings done by them recently and I don't think I've ever had such an awesome experience at the dentist before. I felt so relaxed I almost fell asleep, and that never happens! Be advised: This review is for the massage service received, not dental work. The place is clean, the staff is friendly (to a degree), the service is adequate. There goes the three stars. Now let's get into the details of my first (and probably last) visit to this dentist office/spa. Who else thinks that is a weird combination...? Background: I received a groupon gift for a massage here. When I called the first time, I found out they're not open on weekends... No bueno but I accepted it. Called the second time and had to leave my name and number for Monica to call me back. When I got tired of waiting, I called back and spoke with Monica (the masseuse). She said she didn't get my message which is why she never called me back. Good thing is, she still honored the groupon even though it expired by this time. Day of appt: I arrive in the HEB parking lot and GPS tells me I'm at the location. I don't see it anywhere so I call. Patricia answers the phone and gives me directions that she's obviously given time and time again going by her tone. I was able to make her chuckle for a moment (a quick one) which showed she still had some human life in her. I get there and another young lady who seemed sooo enthused to greet a new customer, had me fill out a form so they'd have my info for "my next visit."Hmmm yeah ok So Monica comes out to greet me and she's appropriately nice. She walks me pass people getting their teeth worked on and brings me to the back for the massage. Service: The room was cold but when she asked if everything felt ok, I said yes because I figured she'd warm me up with her hands during the massage....NOT!!! Her hands were cold and stayed cold the ENTIRE time! I kept waiting for her hands to warm up from the friction but no luck. I don't think she used warm oils. I'm not sure what she used because it didn't smell like anything. But despite the cold room and cold hands, the actual massage was pretty good. She's a small lady but she has strong hands and I needed them today. She asked if there was special attention I needed her to give to any body part and she catered to that just fine. She even made sure to avoid my new tattoo She didn't talk the entire time except for asking me to turn over. I was perfectly fine with that. At the end, she told me to take my time and she'd wait for me out front. End of service: Monica was standing next to one of the ladies up front with her hand on her hip as if she was being impatient. When she saw me, she put the appropriate smile back on her face. I tipped her 20 bucks out of the kindness of my heart but I can't help but feel like she couldn't wait to get me outta there. She told me about the $29 special on Amazon for next time. I think I'll pass. Regarding Eyelash extensions, I had some put on this past summer before an overseas trip and they lasted a whole 24 hours. I was EXTREMELY careful not to rub my eyes and hadn't even taken a shower yet before 1/2 of them had fallen off of one of my eyes. Because I was on vacation, I had to rip out the remaining ones so as not to look even weirder. I have never been there for dental care but will not be returning for eyelash extensions. Let alone the fact that they were very punctual and efficient, as well as extremely friendly, from front desk staff to dental assistants, there is a true care for the patient, the reason why people get into healthcare to begin with (lost in MANY facilities). I had Dr. Stan Zembrowksi removed my top two wisdom teeth last week. I was very anxious and previously with other Dentist had traumatizing experiences with my bottom two. He was professional, kind, polite and the best part-the whole process took less than 30 minutes. I didn't even know he had already done it until I asked. I did a oral sedative (which did not make me tired-it just helped to mildly calm my anxiety) and local anesthetic. He was efficient and very quick. I recommend him to everyone. If I had to do the whole thing again, I would not hesitate. The overall experience was seamless. I did not even need pain medication. He is your go-to Doctor for all dental needs. Absolutely disappointed and regretted for making an appointment and wasting two weeks, then going to that appointment and wasting another 1.5 hours. I was booked with one of their dentists on recommendation and since I was told he works one day a week I had to wait for two weeks with the pain in my tooth. When my time finally arrived I came to the appointment and waited for 1.5 hours while the nurse was taking x-ray of my teeth. When I started asking them where was the dentist they sent me completely different person . It turned out the dentist I wanted to see changed his schedule and the staff did not have the curtesy to let me know and they have known it for 1 week prior to my appointment! The staff there bunch of unprofessionals who even don't know how to speak to the patent. They just keep lying over and over again. I finally realized that they just don't care about me wasting two weeks in pain and getting another X-ray. The woman named Maria told me you get more radiation on the street than you get it from X-ray. I was stunned with her answer as she was the one who promised me personally two times that she would send me the X-ray images. This dental spa is not good. One of my teeth kept hurting (for years) after they filled the cavity! I know my teeth kept hurting after they fill the cavity, but of course, their doctor always says it is not their issue, everything is fine. And they even told me my teeth had an issue previously, the filling just made the problem more obvious. Besides that, the customer service I received recently is not good either. The front desk promised to send me my X-rays, but they didn't. It repeated two times and I still have not received it. The front desk lady kept using the same excuse to tell me that they changed the server so they don't have time to find my X-rays. I explained to her that I know they changed the server, that is what she told me before, but she also promised I will get the X-ray at a certain time as well and it never happened. What if they are not going to make it again. I didn't get any apologies, and she just kept telling me " I am telling you now, we changed the server so I will get your X-ray tomorrow, if you don't get it, you should call back!" And she told me I need to pay for getting the X-ray emailed to me as well, which confused me a lot. First, I paid for the X-ray already and they never gave my X-ray to me, this is the first time I requested to get my paid X-ray. Second, if I need to pay to let them email my X-ray to me, why didn't the clinic mention it at all when they promised me that I will get my X-ray at certain times before? Third, why didn't they give me an invoice for the payment at all? Are they going to charge me without letting me know how much is it?! Dr. Blaess and Dr. Zebrowski are not good dentist and this is not a good dental office. I never received my dental records after many request. Dr. Blaess made a temporary crown that fell out before the permanent and I have been left with excruciating pain and problems with the tooth. Further, I have had one root canal and two retreats because of her failure to diagnose a root canal and crown versus just a crown. She took no X-Rays to come to this conclusion...she just flashed a light and took a picture of the tooth. She had to use an old X-Ray to be paid by my dental insurance. It has caused me a lot of money, time, pain and suffering, etc. One thing gives me pleasure is that one day her and Dr. Zebrowski will reap what they sow because God is watching and their conscience about this whole situation will truly catch up with both of them. Stay away from this place! I have never written a review but this time I did it to prevent other people to experience what I went through. Long but worth it. I have lived in 8 different cities during the last 10 years. I was looking for a good dentist here in S.A. Antonio decided to go to this place based on the good reviews. I went for a cleaning & it went well, place was dated & not necessarily spa like but the hygienist did a good job. I have a baby tooth that has not given me any problem so far. Dr. Blaess look at it, she told me she was concerned & asked me to come back in month. I came back & this time around she told me she needed to extract it & replace it with an implant, I told them I was not sure & she told me that if I didn't do it within the next month I could start losing the rest of my teeth, I talk to Patricia about pricing & she started offering me cash & pre-paid discounts (pay today & you will save $xxx - I felt like in a car dealership). This diagnose was different from the 8 previous dentist I visited in the cities I lived so after I left I decided to get a second opinion, initially I was going to do it with one dentist that I trust but it was too much of a hassle to travel just for the procedure so I asked my friends to recommend me one in San Antonio, I called Patricia asking for the diagnose & my X Rays & she was extremely rude, ended up sending me the X rays & apologizing via email. As part of the treatment with Northwoods they had a partial made (temp tooth for the procedure) in preparation for the extraction. I called to tell them that my wife will pick it up for me as she had an appointment there (which is another story - she had a filling done & had to come back twice because of the pain - still hurting after 3 weeks). They called me & told me that they couldn't give it to her as they needed to make sure it fits. I went & pick it up & they sat me on the chair & the Dr. came in saying let's start with the extraction, I told her that I have already informed her staff this was not happening as I was seeing another dentist & then they gave me the partial right away in a very dismissive way (no fitting was necessary), not sure why they made me go there. The other dentist I approached for the second opinion gave me the same diagnosis as the previous 8 dentists & suggested the same course as in the past (braces) & confirmed that indeed getting an implant without trying orthodontia was not recommended at all. A different person from Northwoods called me a 3 weeks ago to ask when I was going to have the extraction & I explained one more time I was not doing it with them, they told me that the insurance rejected the claim on the partial ($165 - I paid the other half from my pocket) because they need the extraction date on the baby tooth. I told them that as soon as I get it I will send them today, the person who called me was courteous. The new Dentist remitted me to the Orthodontist, who asked me to have a "dolphin" X Ray at a special place with the equipment, I did this week & I am coming back for the procedure next week hence why I haven't send to them the extraction date. To my surprise, today I received the first communications from Northwoods since the call 3 weeks ago, it is an email from Patricia asking me to pay immediately otherwise they will be forced to send me to collections & ended up telling me to not abuse Dr. Blaess ' generosity. This is for me the most unprofessional & rude email. As agreed on the phone with them, I was waiting to get the extraction to give them the information they needed, I never received any other notification until today's ultimatum. I am wondering what generosity is she referring to, Dr. Blaess almost followed the wrong treatment that could have affected me for life & the balance I have there is only $165 that I will be paying from my own pocket rather than waiting for my insurance to pay. I, myself, had deep seeded insecurities about letting go and trusting someone to help me, and not let me down as well. This dental office is not only a place to go to clean your teeth, but to work through all dental problems and fears. The dentists go beyond their responsibilities of just fixing my teeth. They are compassionate, and since I had three hours of work done first time and two hours second. I am a testament of such. My fears caused me not to see a dentist through the years and then shortly after the death of my mother when I was the most vulnerable, I woke up one morning with a tooth ache. They took me in immediately and the staff listened to my fears and sadness and pain and they helped in every way possible to get me through the procedure. Dr. Z. was so compassionate and caring while he performed dental work that should have been prevented if I would have seen him much much earlier. He never once talked down to me or scolded me, and knew my insecurities about dentists. He called me the next day personally to make sure I was ok and asked if I had any concerns. The staff made it clear before I left that they were there to help at any time if needed. Wow just was I needed at the time. Seriously, the is more than a dentist office.
