This review is for the winter igloos, which are amazing. You pay $50 for two hours of fun in these sweet igloos that gets you seating for 6, two heaters, blankets and bar/food service. You can order off of a platter menu for the igloos or order anything off of the Pub menu. We had cocktails, wine, a giant pretzel (perfect chewiness and two good dipping sauces, and I generally hate the beer cheese sauce at most place), a decent charcuterie tray (regular stuff and addictive Pimento cheese), and a so so Chocolate Fondu. The donuts, chocolate sticks and gingerbread goldfish were good. The frozen pineapple and pretzels were far from good. The chocolate was pretty normal. Overall I would pass on this one. The server, Christen, was amazing. She really helped make the night great. Overall this is a super fun and not shockingly expensive way to spend an evening. With the fresh snow around it's even better. And as for the temp? It was 15 out and everyone took off their jackets inside. read more

About what you'd expect for a resort bar with mainly burgers and sandwiches. Surprisingly, their dry rub wings were really good albeit a bit overpriced. The Jamaican Pulled Pork was an adventurous mix of flavors with pineapple, apple slaw, and Jamaican flavors. Worth a try, but not something that's a must by any means. read more

We were bummed we didn't get to eat outside but then thrilled when we discovered their indoor menu was the same! Their kids chicken strips were some of the best in the area and finding something like that makes the entire family want to come back. It's a little cramped for Covid-era eating but if you have a reservation it seems not many people tend to want to eat inside right now anyhow. My husband and I split the summer salad and goat cheese and fig sandwich for a great and light summer dinner option. We'll certainly be back! read more

Solid pub food. My husband had a salad and wings and I had the walleye sandwich. It's a cozy spot in the winter and the service is friendly.

The service, atmosphere and food were great! However, they don't have enough people working in the back. We waited over an hour for our sandwiches. Our waitress Jaycee was awesome and she did a great job taking care of us! read more

We waited 15 minutes before asking if someone was coming to the table - waited another 10 minutes for the waiter to show up - another 10 mins for half our drinks to be delivered - when the food came thru forgot a meal - after 15 mins found the waiter again -only to find out they didn't put the order in the 2nd time- apparently another waiter took our meal - asked to talk to the manager - had to ask multiple times - no apology ever given - only explained when asked why - very very poor service and the manager thought he was doing us a massive favor by comping the meal we had to wait an extra half hour for- a little explaining and a little apologizing would have gone a long way instead if indignant attitude from the manager. read more

Memorial Day weekend Saturday lunch. Arrived at 11:30, and the team inside were friendly and helpful in moving our table of 11 outside to the patio. We were asked to extend patience to the staff as they were short staffed, but service was prompt, we did not notice any delays. I had a ruben which was very good - not a huge fan of the fries, a slightly different style but they were undercooked and under-seasoned. My kiddo had a grilled cheese and he was meh about it, but he's 11 so... Wife had a BLT which she said was good. My sister was next to me and she had the falafel wrap with the side salad and she said both were excellent. She's a vegetarian, and appreciated a slightly different than usual veggie option. The outdoor vibe was great. There is another place to eat closer to the water but it is also close to the swimming pool (screaming kids and odor of chlorine) and had live music, which can be fine but was not what we were looking for on this visit. You know how a bad server can either make or break your night? This was my experience and it definitely broke thee experience. The service was so poor that myself and my three guests all left crabby and all spoke about it even after we got back to our condo. The server didn't say hi, ask how we were doing, check on us, and didn't e en make eye contact. I could go in but I think y'all catch my drift. I will say when a young gal brought out the food we ordered to go she was very kind. So maybe they need to re-configure which staff has more interaction with patrons? The ambiance is what you would expect for a pub in the lake and the food is your typical bar food. Not great but not the worst. I mean, can you really screw up French fries and hamburgers? read more

If you would like to purchase THE MOST EXPENSIVE SOFT PRETZEL YOU'VE EVER HAD COME HERE! We went here last night for my birthday supper and ordered the pretzel as our appetizer... When we got the bill we found out the the price for it was $30.00!!!!! We couldn't belive it! I said something to the two bartenders behind the bar and they said, "I know, it's ridiculous!" It was a good pretzel, but $30.00!!! For some rolled up dough! Our server was very friendly and took off half the cost of the pretzel, which was still expensive for a pretzel.... Our food was just okay... I had the meatloaf that was over cooked and kind of black... I was very surprised that they used instant potatoes... That was underwhelming. Might go back some day... Great outdoor dining. During covid, nice to see staff wearing masks. Food was good. Had the bahn mi and my party also has fish and chips, prosciutto and fig sandwich and a cheeseburger. Burger looked perfectly cooked and some devoured it. Daughter enjoyed the fish but felt it was a little bland. The other meals were pretty good but needed a slight flavor boost. Overall good option for dining in the Nisswa area. 4 stars because is a little pricey. read more

Hubby and I kind of stumbled on The Lodge as we were exploring the area. We had originally planned to have dinner at one of the other 2 more formal restaurants, but they had no available tables. It was suggested that we might find a table downstairs at Northwoods Pub. The restaurant was busy that evening (a Thursday) and possibly short-staffed, but we decided to take a chance. We had about a 20 minute wait time to be seated, so while we waited, we helped ourselves to some freshly popped popcorn and enjoyed the grounds outside. We were soon seated in a an attractive, rustic-ly decorated dining room. Our server was very nice and made some menu suggestions. We followed his recommendations. I ordered the ribeye sandwich, and my husband ordered the walleye sliders. Our food took a while to prepare, but we enjoyed more of the popcorn and soaked up more atmosphere as we waited. Our food was actually better than we expected. Everything was hot and really tasty. My ribeye sandwich was actually a little grilled ribeye steak between the buns, and not just thinly sliced beef like some restaurants serve. The meat was very tender and seasoned just right. My husband was very happy with his 3 little crispy walleye sliders. Why not 5 stars, then? First, it was pretty pricey for the size of the portions and there were no sides included with the entrees. Secondly, the wait for our food was pretty long. It felt like the restaurant was terribly understaffed for the number of patrons they had. Our server did a nice job, but there seemed a sense of hectic-ness to the whole restaurant....not a relaxing dining experience. Employees seemed to be rushing here and there....trying to move around the small walkways, trying to get past the diners who were standing and waiting to be seated at the door. Also, the tables are smooshed pretty close together, making it seem that our neighboring diners were a bit too close for comfort. The popcorn machine....well, while it was a nice touch, there were a lot of patrons (including small children) who were helping themselves to popcorn. They used the scoop and then left that scoop that they had just touched inside the machine, laying right in the popcorn. I am not a germaphobe (I ate popcorn anyway,) but it did give me a little bit of "ick factor" to think about all of the hands that touch that scoop and then put it back into the popcorn. Maybe they can have a system for hanging the scoop on the outside or something, rather than laying it in with the food. Finally, it was pretty loud in there....TV's, a lot of people, a bit too noisy for much table conversation. We wish we had been able to dine outdoors, but it was too cool and windy for that this time. Overall, a decent experience, though. read more

This would be a 1-star review if it weren't for the lovely view and ambiance. What should have been an enjoyable lunch in a beautiful setting at the historic Grandview Lodge, ended up being a long and stressful ordeal with an extremely rude waitress and clueless waiter which left us frustrated and ready to get out of there. We waited for nearly 20 minutes to be acknowledge and get menus which were hastily thrown on our table after going up to the bar to ask if we would be served. Another extended period of time later comes the water, another 15 minutes later comes the beverages, etc... you get the picture. Understanding that they were understaffed, we were patient. Our patience was challenged when there was an error with our order after waiting for another extended period of time for our food. The waitress said she would "remove this" and replace it with a new order, which we opted to do. The food was good (we ordered the walleye sliders and mushroom chicken sandwich), but was overshadowed by the wait and effort it took to finally get it. Upon receiving the bill, we noticed that the "removed" item was still there. Figuring this was an error as the waitress said she would take care of it, again we went up to the bar to have the error corrected. The bartender/manager was kind enough to help us. When were were finalizing the transaction at the bar, our waitress came up to ask if there was a problem. After explaining to her that the item was still on the bill, she proceeded to argue with me in front of my family, a manager and other customers that we should actually have to pay for this error and she claimed she never said she would remove it. I was floored by her rudeness and lie. Why would I make that up? The manager quickly told her to leave and she eventually corrected the bill, which we appreciated. The staff could benefit from some customer service training before we would consider dining here again. Until this is corrected, dine elsewhere. read more

This is a cozy spot for a beer and a snack. Do not trust the menu online or on Facebook. We were attracted by the Tuesday Minnesota beer special and the Walleye sandwich advertised online but neither were available when we visited. The server repeatedly addressed us as Guys even though it was clear that 3/4 of our party was female. The food arrived quickly but was not hot and the pizza was burnt. Had a great time here out on their brand new deck-- the view is stunning and the renovations were well done. Had lunch with coworkers and our server Quinn was very sweet and attentive. Service was prompt and timed well-- we got our food soon after our appetizers were finished. Food was delicious, especially the Paul Bunyan burger and chicken mushroom sandwich. I left an important card on the table when we left, and Quinn saved it and ran it out to me in the parking lot. So nice! Would be happy to come back any time. read more

My wife and I ate here during our stay to celebrate our anniversary. The Pub is located in the lower level of the Grand Lodge and has that classic up north feel. There were a number of television sets available to catch any number of sporting events. Our waitress was very personable and provided efficient service. We ordered the flat bread for an appetizer. It was fabulous. The flatbread has goat cheese, fig, ham and balsamic vinegar. For our meal I had the Northwoods Pulled Chicken Sandwich and my wife had the Reuben sandwich. Both were again excellent. My wife said she was impressed with how tender the corned beef was and the portion was very generous. My chicken sandwich was equally good. Very tender and not overly sauced. The jerk mayo gave a nice spice and I love having bacon and avocado pretty much on everything. The sandwiches were so good and portions so generous we pretty much ignored the fries and chips with the meals! read more
