A quick update. Norway has a new chef and some fun new specials. It beyond that things are the same but more consistent. I have had really good experiences with the Pork, Duck, Salmon, and Walleye. The only cons for me are the ribs (which are done the way they have always have and I just don't like the style, it's too much like ham for me) and the Ribeye (I'm not a fan of the blackening and there is usually too much fat for me). Beyond those two, you should come here for the best Supper Club vibe up here. Order a Martini or Manhattan up (you get the mixer and extra drink). Stay for a Brandy Alexander or other ice cream drink. read more

Nice atmosphere. Like all restaurants now, it was expensive. I've had the steaks here before and they are pretty good. Tried the bbq ribs the other night and was very disappointed. You get a full rack which is impressive but they are way over seasoned. Also the bbq sauce is way too sweet. Ate about 3 ribs and brought the rest home. We have been loyal customers at Norway Ridge for over 40 years, which makes our experience this past week especially disappointing. The portion sizes were noticeably smaller, there was now an extra charge for the bread basket, and items that used to include mushrooms no longer did. To make matters worse, our bill was calculated incorrectly. When we politely brought these issues to the staff's attention, we were met with a dismissive response and told we should have done a better job reading the menu. After decades of dining here, this lack of quality and customer care was truly disheartening. read more

Absolutely perfect! Celebrated a significant anniversary and everything from service to atmosphere to food was wonderful. This was our second visit and it could jot have been more different from our first visit. Service was acceptable, bit not up to par for a "nice" restaurant. My husband enjoyed his ribs & chicken meal, I was somewhat disappointed with mine. I was hoping that they would be running the crab special that they had been offering for the past 8 weeks, but no luck. I ordered the shrimp scampi instead, the shrimp was overcooked and rubbery. I received tarter sauce with my shrimp scampi, but no sour cream for my baked potato. The server took so long to come check on us after our meal was served that I was half way thru it. Why bother making it an issue at that point. I had made it a point to say that I planned to order an after dinner drink, waited 15 to 20 minutes after I finished my meal for the server to come ask if I wanted to order anything else, knowing she was also waiting on a large group, I decided I did not want to wait another 15 to 20 minutes for a drink. This place is an hour's drive from our home, so it is a bit of an event to eat there, and I felt I was treated quite indifferently. I will not bother trying to eat here again. read more

Worst steak I've ever had in my entire life! Not only was the $50 steak terrible but the potatoes were ice cold! My wife and I took one bit of both and decided we go somewhere else for our 1st anniversary. For $80 we both had a bit of steak and a bit of cold potatoes. When I went to pay the bill I told the woman at the front how awful our experience was and she told me with a straight face that I should have told someone and they count have adjusted the bill as she is cashing me out?? OK, this place was so wonderful. Husband and I were visiting Crosslake so hopped over to Norway Ridge. Made a same-day 7:15 reservation. Classic supper club ambiance that feels nostalgic and familiar. The format of soup/salad, rolls, main course is just so quintessentially supper club and my husband and I leaned in. We were sad to discover the table next to us got the last prime rib, but c'est la vie. Started with a house martini (dirty) with blue cheese stuffed olives. It was delicious, especially the olives. Shaker served on the side so you can make that martini last. Started with the sunnies appetizer- tasty! Would get again. Salads- dressings are all house made. I loved the creamy blue cheese, no skimping on the cheese. My husband and I also shared a cup of the chicken wild rice soup- WOW. Best we have both ever had Main course- husband got blackened ribeye which was fantastic, well-seasoned and perfectly cooked. I got the broiled walleye (add almonds) with au gratin potatoes. The walleye was perfectly cooked and the almonds added some nice texture. The au gratin potatoes were so rich and soooo good. I could barely eat 1/3 of them. Service was attentive and our server Ashley was so great, it was a great date night away from the toddler. read more

We've been coming here for many years for various occasions with family and friends. We always had a great experience all around. It felt like home. The past 3 years have been the complete opposite. Today was the third strike. So sorry because it is such a great location and venue. Service is inattentive. Food was inedible - left most of it behind - again. Consistently Poor quality. Overpriced. We're so disappointed after trying to give new owners and staff time to improve - but no improvement and little concern. Sadly, we won't be back. read more

So disappointed. My wife and I went to celebrate a special occasion for dinner. We were given a table in a room with tables set up for groups. I would call it a Chuck E Cheese experience. The families have every right to enjoy a good meal but the children were loud and running around. The hostess should do a much better job seating couples. She also got very defensive when I commented on our way out. They lost our business this evening ... most likely won't care. On a positive note ... our waitress and food were good.
