We have been going to Norway Ridge for more than 20 years. The food and service is always great. We went on July 16th and it was extremely warm in the restaurant. We couldn't wait leave. They had fans going but it did not help. They now charge extra if you want a dinner roll or a caesar salad. If I am paying $60 for a steak I would expect that I would get a dinner roll. Every time we eat here we have a great meal! The Chicken Marsala was so good-and of course the steaks are great.

A quick update. Norway has a new chef and some fun new specials. It beyond that things are the same but more consistent. I have had really good experiences with the Pork, Duck, Salmon, and Walleye. The only cons for me are the ribs (which are done the way they have always have and I just don't like the style, it's too much like ham for me) and the Ribeye (I'm not a fan of the blackening and there is usually too much fat for me). Beyond those two, you should come here for the best Supper Club vibe up here. Order a Martini or Manhattan up (you get the mixer and extra drink). Stay for a Brandy Alexander or other ice cream drink. read more

Food was just ok, broiled shrimp no flavor, salmon was good. Plates did not look elevated, dish of shrimp and a baked potato- meh, no color. Ice cream drinks fantastic and JoAnna gave great service. We were sat in the entry way- horrible!! Need to fix that space if they need to use for dining space. read more

A favorite place since my childhood (and I'm OLD!) We make the pilgrimage up to Norway Ridge just once a summer now that we have moved out of state. It has surely changed over the years but still fulfills my need for a true up north supper club experience. My H ordered ribs, a perennial favorite. Wonderful. I chose to freestyle a bit and ordered bruschetta. Wow! What a gorgeous plateful! Absolutely delicious. Way too much for one person. When we return next summer I will order bruschetta for the table and ribs or myself, knowing we'll go home with a box! read more

Nice atmosphere. Like all restaurants now, it was expensive. I've had the steaks here before and they are pretty good. Tried the bbq ribs the other night and was very disappointed. You get a full rack which is impressive but they are way over seasoned. Also the bbq sauce is way too sweet. Ate about 3 ribs and brought the rest home. We have been loyal customers at Norway Ridge for over 40 years, which makes our experience this past week especially disappointing. The portion sizes were noticeably smaller, there was now an extra charge for the bread basket, and items that used to include mushrooms no longer did. To make matters worse, our bill was calculated incorrectly. When we politely brought these issues to the staff's attention, we were met with a dismissive response and told we should have done a better job reading the menu. After decades of dining here, this lack of quality and customer care was truly disheartening. read more

It was exactly what we needed. I've been before, but it's been a few years. Two of us had the blackened salmon and it was great! My husband had a filet mignon and said it was very good! This was our second visit and it could jot have been more different from our first visit. Service was acceptable, bit not up to par for a "nice" restaurant. My husband enjoyed his ribs & chicken meal, I was somewhat disappointed with mine. I was hoping that they would be running the crab special that they had been offering for the past 8 weeks, but no luck. I ordered the shrimp scampi instead, the shrimp was overcooked and rubbery. I received tarter sauce with my shrimp scampi, but no sour cream for my baked potato. The server took so long to come check on us after our meal was served that I was half way thru it. Why bother making it an issue at that point. I had made it a point to say that I planned to order an after dinner drink, waited 15 to 20 minutes after I finished my meal for the server to come ask if I wanted to order anything else, knowing she was also waiting on a large group, I decided I did not want to wait another 15 to 20 minutes for a drink. This place is an hour's drive from our home, so it is a bit of an event to eat there, and I felt I was treated quite indifferently. I will not bother trying to eat here again. read more

Worst steak I've ever had in my entire life! Not only was the $50 steak terrible but the potatoes were ice cold! My wife and I took one bit of both and decided we go somewhere else for our 1st anniversary. For $80 we both had a bit of steak and a bit of cold potatoes. When I went to pay the bill I told the woman at the front how awful our experience was and she told me with a straight face that I should have told someone and they count have adjusted the bill as she is cashing me out??
