The hours are limited, so it does take a little planning, but it's absolutely worth it. The exhibits are packed with interesting local history and fascinating artifacts that give real context to the area. The building itself is beautiful and adds so much character to the experience. It's a great stop if you enjoy learning about the past and discovering places that feel quietly special.

It's not open to the public (as in you are not allowed to go in unless you pay). The owners guard the entrance/near the front door inside and you can't really walk in and go around to check out the games first unless you pay. It was just about a few feet is what we were able to look at inside and only up to the parking lot is all we were able to see. As you walk in, you'll be standing at the front while they stare at you. The owner just stared and made a comment "It looks like you've never been here" No S lady. It was our first time, recommended by the McDonald's Museum across the street. She stated what their rates were. The owner did offer to have her husband escort us to walk around if we wanted to look at the place. Although we may have looked young, we're not little kids. We didn't feel like being chaperoned by an adult. We're 4 decades old. If the whole place runs by itself without the need of physical money, how would they even know who's playing the 30min package or the 1hr? If they use a prepaid players digital card, then a chaperone wouldn't be needed if we can't play the games anyway. We don't know anyone there or wouldn't need to cheat to play for free from others. Needless to say, we didn't see much. Just up to the door while they guarded it. Too bad, we would've enjoyed the place, but instead we were greeted with a cold welcome. Judging by this place, I see the owners like to respond to every comment/review. To the owner, if you're reading this, please don't bother replying. We won't be reading it. We already got the point. To those reading this in response to the owner, please believe me when I say this is an honest review, and real customer service experience. I'm a minority in this area AND NEW so, maybe they judge differently. Edit: lol the owner STILL replied although we already mentioned their comment was not needed. Hard-headed much..?

If you're looking for an outdoor wedding venue for great Princess-esque photos, this is the place…read moreto go. I needed to tour Kimberly Crest because I always wanted a Disney Princess wedding, but I didn't want to get married at Disneyland or in Downtown Disney. To book the tour slot, we filled out the form on their website and emailed to coordinate a time with Mary and Tanya after sharing some additional details about our wedding (priorities, budget, timing, guest count). The historic home and additional stone stairwell and fountain add-on are beautiful, and they are great for couples who want a photographic venue and have put a high emphasis on getting great wedding portraits in a castle-eqsque setting. We were looking for a wedding venue with water elements, and felt like the fountain/pond was a great water feature. You have the option for your guests to go inside the house for a guided tour during cocktail hour, but otherwise it is closed, which means the entirety of your wedding is outdoors. Inspired by a French castle, the French château-style mansion was built in 1897 and has an old Victorian-style architecture, and the iconic cascading stone and concrete stairs in the Italian Renaissance-style gardens (the majority of the photos you see online) were added between 1905 and 1909 as a part of the garden overhaul by the new Kimberly family owners. In case of rain in Redlands, they have great tent partnerships and can get your reception space tented for a great day. It's a venue-only rental, which is great if you're looking to bring in all of your own vendors for a Saturday wedding with up to 200 guests! The ceremony is on the grass lawn, the cocktail hour is behind the house in a cute secret garden area, and the main reception dinner and dancing are in the courtyard at the top of the stairs, and you can really transform the space for your own fairytale vision. If you book, you get exclusive use of historic gardens & grounds, and the old Carriage House and Garden House as the two getting ready rooms for the amount of hours that you book (keep in mind the hours you book also include the setup and tear down times for your vendors). While we were touring, there were professional photoshoots for Quinceañeras, and I can easily see why they'd select Kimberly Crest for their photoshoot! Although we ended up going a different direction for our wedding venue, we loved seeing the different spaces around the property, and I hope to be able to come back one day.

If you are ever in the area (which you definitely should be at some point), stop by this beautiful house. You will genuinely feel as if you are transported in time, it's an ethereal experience. The grounds are gorgeous and secluded, you feel like you should be in Europe. This place is a hidden gem in Redlands, CA. This was the first place I looked at for wedding venues, I couldn't stop comparing everything else I looked at to Kimberly Crest. Once it was booked, Tanya and her team were so on top of managing Venue related wedding necessities from beginning to end. They did such a fantastic job at communicating and promptly replying. They worked with my budget needs and gave me amazing recommendations and ideas for the wedding. They let me come by the venue as much as I needed to. I never felt like I was annoying them (with all of my questions, as a bride usually has), they remained patient and kind throughout the process. The Kimberly Crest House & Gardens team really did go above and beyond for me and my now husband. They took on responsibilities outside of their assigned roles to ensure my wedding day ran as smoothly as possible. I, unfortunately, had entrusted a wedding coordinator that did not meet my expectations and neglected several of her duties. But, Tanya and her team quickly picked up the slack and ensured my day turned out as magical as I ever dreamt it could be. I have so much love for this venue and the team! Don't be afraid to book it for your wedding or any event. I promise, the pictures will turn out stunning - you will feel like a true princess!

FINALLY had the chance to visit the Jurupa Mountains Discover Center! I always see the iconic…read moremammoth statue passing by on the freeway and finally got to visit. His name is Eddy and he's a Columbian mammoth. Crazy cool that it's a life sized replica too. At the entrance, you pay for parking and it's $10. PRO-TIP: If you spend $40 at the gift shop, the $10 counts towards it and altogether it's actually only $30, which is great if you're buying a lot of goods there to support OR if you're a fossil and/or gem/mineral enthusiast since they have a LOT of that there, which is pretty neat. There's 2 places you can park. One near the garden nursery where you can purchase plants or near the main parking where the gift shop is. The Critter Corner is in the gift shop where you can see lots of herps and aquatic critters as well. The volunteers are super informative and can answer all your questions about the critters they have there. Love that they have name tags and info about where they're from and information about the species. Love the monkey skink, emerald tree skinks, Argentinian tegu, and of course, the beardies. Gift shop also has a great variety of affordable gifts ranging from toys, to small knick-knacks, decor, gem stones and minerals of all varieties and displays (loose, as earrings or necklaces, carved, etc.), locally sourced honey, actual fossils (there's a section where you're not allowed if you're under 16 without a parent or guardian), books, stickers, and much much more. While we were there, there was also a fun little S.T.E.A.M. corner where you can work on artwork you can take home or on some days I think there's science activities there too. The mural on the walls are also quite impressive too. Great for photos and a nice personal touch. I recommend getting the $1 grab bag! Kids love gacha/blind boxes nowadays and mine had 2 small fossils, a sticker, and 2 mineral stones. Pretty nice and super affordable. There's a trail that goes through a cactus garden with lots of dinosaur sculptures, done by the local boy scouts which is pretty neat. It's $9 if you would like to go rock collecting. You get to meet all the dinos during this expedition as well. It's 12 rocks, minerals, or fossils which isn't bad. They also have guided tours that start at the gift shop, but my boyfriend and I were just there to free roam, which can kill a couple hours too depending on how in depth you are in reading and looking at everything. They also have a separate Museum of Discovery with lots of fossil specimens and models ranging from dinosaurs, prehistoric creatures (aquatic, mammals, reptiles, etc.), indigenous/Native American artifacts and artwork (local artwork too), minerals and other geological structures. There's taxidermy on the wall too. Lots to look at. Will definitely come back in the future. Super affordable way to learn and spend some time.

Again, we highly recommend Alexis as your tour guide because she was so sweet and kind and taught the children so much. Thank you for making our trip so special.
