I had no idea this museum existed in Cherry Valley! I thought it was just the war-time collection of the main floor. To my amazement, there is a downstairs area and other rooms with 16 & 19th century art!! The gardens were spacious and beautifully manicured. MUST visit!!!

This was a small museum and garden. Based on the website I expected a bit more. Friendly staff but it was very obvious that my children made them nervous. She gave them a very polite lecture about not sitting on the furniture or touching anything. I wanted to tell her that they have heard that same lecture a zillion times and this is probably their 150th museum in their lifetime and they know the drill, but I was polite and restrained myself. Ok back to the museum itself. Inexpensive, $3 for adults, Seniors and Students are $2, Kids 12 and under are free. So $3 for the three of us was a good sign right away. Their was one exhibit from a local painter and then two floors which were a replica of homes from the 1800's. Very interesting collection of pieces from around the world. A docent quickly joined are party, probably to make sure my kids were good. I enjoyed her background on the pieces. But I know my kids would have had a better time if we had been free to roam by ourselves. I know when to change the conversation and how to get them interested, she went a little more then they wanted to hear and spoke more to me then to the kids, which is never what I want. The gardens were lacking but they were clearly working on many of the areas and I am sure in the spring it is a very beautiful setting. We spent less then 90 mins at the museum which was plenty of time to see everything. I wouldn't go out of my way to see this place, but if you are within a 30 min drive then it is worth checking out. Maybe take a grandma, they would love a place like this.

I Had my wedding at Edward Dean museum a little over a month ago on 10.1.2017 it was the Absolute best experience right from strart the Venue Staff is so accommodating and great to work with any time i had any questions or concerns i could call them or email them and get a response right away Stacy the Venue manger is awesome she went over everything with me that was included down to the final weeks before confirming all of my layout and setup :) i toured the property months before the big day on numerous occasions with my other vendors (They allow you bring to your own vendors in ) which i loved because i wanted to be able to Create my Wedding vision from the ground up whether it be food, flowers, etc.. The Grounds of the property are beautiful it truly is a hidden gem and i am so happy i found it there are several areas where you can have your ceremony and reception which was another huge plus for me since my husband and i wanted the guest to see all the venue and have a great experience not to mention they have a lovely Bridal suite and Grooms room that you get all day long for you to get ready in which was very accommodating and stress free because having to get ready somewhere elise was not an option for me if you are looking for a venue i highly recommend looking at Edward Dean Museum thank you again to all the staff My wedding Was everything i envisioned

Fig and lavender infused (LI) goat cheese pizza was excellent. LI mixed drinks were very good, but the LI beer was a bit of a let down. Sour type beer is fine but lacked any lavender smell or taste. Maybe expecting too much. Advice- Use the washrooms in/by the old hotel lobby, avoid the ones on the side of building with the large Pennants saying 'restrooms.'...they are old hotel rooms with storage boxes all over. Note main food vendors by the music stage area but there are boutique vendors at one side of venue by the hotel, with the LI teas, coffees, ice cream etc. Most sell the same stuff ( teas, jams, olive oils, creams, lotions, nic-nacs, etc). Will go back again.

I'm sure a lot has been said already about HIGHLAND SPRINGS' FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS so I'll try not to bore you with a long and lengthy "this is what you can find here". I will try to give some tips though. - Come early. Yes, even before the lights turn on. This is beneficial for avoiding traffic, getting good parking spots, shorter food lines, shorter bathroom lines. - Get your food first. So you can walk off the calories. Also, because most people eat after an activity when they get hungry... and then the line will be super long. - Get whatever lavender they have. Hot cocoa, Latte... - Reserve a s'mores pit. When it's cold, it's the best. - Take pictures of everything everywhere. We consumed the following and they were GREAT! - Smoked Brisket Poutine - Clam Chowder in a Bread Bowl - Lavender Latte - Lavender Hot Chocolate

Lavender Festival Review (2026)…read more My group of three headed to the Lavender festival for the first time this weekend. Many events for the holidays take place at 123 Farms and this summer holds space for the beautiful lavender field and activities! The signs leading to the location were easy to find and you can either purchase your tickets online, or at the gate before you enter the festival. I loved the food, as they really try to incorporate lavender into their items, such as lavender honey, ice cream, pizza, and even a smash burger! Although nothing tasted as strong as I expected, the food was worth a try! I ended up splitting a lot of it with my friends so we could try different things. Our favorite item had to be the pepperoni and ricotta sourdough pizza! It was amazing! I'd pass on the sourdough mini donuts. Some of my first timer tips: The petting zoo ends at 5pm, so make sure to visit early if you plan on going! Go on the tractor ride when it's cooler, as my friends and I were struggling to keep cool on the ride since it's summer. And be prepared to pay for the tractor ride as it is $8 a person. Bring a fan or hat, and sunscreen! I personally don't recommend wearing sandals because there's many dirt areas and fire ants in the lavender fields! All in all, I had such fun filled day here at 123 Farm. They did a really fabulous job with the decorations and food which truly felt like a festival that didn't run you for your money. The gift shop items are definitely pricy. Definitely recommend this festival for your summer plans!

As soon as we got to the parking area none of the staff knew what we were talking about. No one knew if we had parking paid, no one knew where the event was and they didn't know where to send us. I showed them the flyer and they let us park so we went in. We talked to about 5 different employees and then we found the front lobby one directed us to. Once we figured out where we had to go we decided to get some drinks. I went up to the first drink place near the parking lot. Once I got up to order you could tell the cashier was very unhappy. I ordered two alcoholic drinks. She immediately said if I was giving alcohol to someone else I was going to have the cops called on me. I told her no I just wanted to try two drinks. She rang me up and once I picked up my drinks she again said to me, if I see you giving this to one of your little friends you will be escorted out and the police called on me. If someone reads this review it was an older white lady with dreadlocks working the booth. I am 26 years old I don't know what she targeted me for looking young and I didn't have any girlfriends with me. After that experience, I found the farmer that was leading us on the strawberry field picking. She was amazing, you could tell the farmers had a ton of passion with what they did. It was amazing history about the farm and then we all picked fresh strawberries at the end. They also gave us free fresh lemonade.

Would highly recommend getting a photo booth for inside. It's just so much fun and a great way to capture everyone that came to celebrate you. The dessert table was so elegant with tons of options to either eat there or to take to go. The cake....oh the cake! So very beautifully decorated with matching flowers of the ceremony. The weather was perfect our guests loved the scenery, honestly you don't even need decor because the venue is your decor ! It is stunning , the one thing I can say that went wrong was the professionalism of the bartenders. They were rude from the moment our guests were able to grab drinks. I experienced it & I was the damn bride . I had half of my guests tell me that one moment a drink would cost $8 dollars and when they would go back up for the next they noticed the cost of drinks going up or the two bartenders talking to eachother asking what the price should be . I wasn't going to have open bar so I made sure to asked how much drinks would cost so my guest were aware , I was told in our final meeting that the prices of drinks should Range from $7-$12 . And drinks were reaching $15+. As bride and groom our tab was 250$ and we had a total of maybe 6-8 drinks , I've been a bartender for years and that number is ridiculous for the amount of drinks I got.. also you can't get upset at guest wanting to bring there own alcohol in when the bartenders are scamming them out of there money and not pouring the legal amount into a drink . I can really go on and on about the bartenders that night which really sucks bc I shouldn't have to worry about something like that on our wedding day. So to sum it all up I would just do better with your bartending staff especially since that's what really matters to guest most of the day . Another thing I should add is make sure you book the grooms suit for the bride and bridal party, bc the bridal sweet is the size of a walk-in closet . Also make sure the bathrooms are working properly bc by the end of the night when I had to change into my other dress the bridal sweet room smelt terrible .... One more thing , be aware that there is alot of added on fees at your 60-30 day meeting . Things that you should be aware of earlier on to work into your budget :/

However that didn't happen and we weren't made aware of this until the morning of. They did bring in portable restrooms but they were located down a hill which made it hard for my guests (women in heels and elderly) to get to them. The bartending staff was also very rude and slow, and told my parents that people had to pay for soda when I paid extra to have that unlimited so they had to find me to get that fixed. The bartenders also made my guests wait in line for soda/water instead of just putting some out for people to grab. I can continue but for now I will just say that I don't recommend this venue for your wedding/event. When I got on the phone to talk to the owner she was very rude and defensive as well instead of listening to a customer who paid a lot of money for things she was promised and didn't receive. This venue is definitely not worth the money/having your special day be here!!!!
