If you're looking for an outdoor wedding venue for great Princess-esque photos, this is the place to go. I needed to tour Kimberly Crest because I always wanted a Disney Princess wedding, but I didn't want to get married at Disneyland or in Downtown Disney. To book the tour slot, we filled out the form on their website and emailed to coordinate a time with Mary and Tanya after sharing some additional details about our wedding (priorities, budget, timing, guest count). The historic home and additional stone stairwell and fountain add-on are beautiful, and they are great for couples who want a photographic venue and have put a high emphasis on getting great wedding portraits in a castle-eqsque setting. We were looking for a wedding venue with water elements, and felt like the fountain/pond was a great water feature. You have the option for your guests to go inside the house for a guided tour during cocktail hour, but otherwise it is closed, which means the entirety of your wedding is outdoors. Inspired by a French castle, the French château-style mansion was built in 1897 and has an old Victorian-style architecture, and the iconic cascading stone and concrete stairs in the Italian Renaissance-style gardens (the majority of the photos you see online) were added between 1905 and 1909 as a part of the garden overhaul by the new Kimberly family owners. In case of rain in Redlands, they have great tent partnerships and can get your reception space tented for a great day. It's a venue-only rental, which is great if you're looking to bring in all of your own vendors for a Saturday wedding with up to 200 guests! The ceremony is on the grass lawn, the cocktail hour is behind the house in a cute secret garden area, and the main reception dinner and dancing are in the courtyard at the top of the stairs, and you can really transform the space for your own fairytale vision. If you book, you get exclusive use of historic gardens & grounds, and the old Carriage House and Garden House as the two getting ready rooms for the amount of hours that you book (keep in mind the hours you book also include the setup and tear down times for your vendors). While we were touring, there were professional photoshoots for Quinceañeras, and I can easily see why they'd select Kimberly Crest for their photoshoot! Although we ended up going a different direction for our wedding venue, we loved seeing the different spaces around the property, and I hope to be able to come back one day. read more

The entrance and garden are open for guests to explore, but the real highlight is the history shared during the guided tour inside the house. Be sure to arrive a little early as they start right on time. The Kimberly Crest House offers reserved tours for small groups, which makes the experience feel more personal. Our docent was incredibly knowledgeable and had even worked closely with the family's descendants, so she shared lots of fascinating and heartfelt stories along the way. While photos and videos aren't allowed inside, the tour includes a walk through the living room, dining room, kitchen, second-floor common area, a remodeled bathroom, and several bedrooms. The interior was beautifully preserved, and the whole house was comfortably air-conditioned, which made the hour-long tour very pleasant. The gift shop is currently under construction, so only pop-up cards were available for purchase during our visit. I do wish we had been able to take photos for keepsakes. This was a lovely example of women's leadership and education throughout history. read more

Working with the Kimberly Crest House & Gardens team was probably the most wonderful experience in my wedding planning process. First of all, the venue itself is STUNNING. If you are ever in the area (which you definitely should be at some point), stop by this beautiful house. You will genuinely feel as if you are transported in time, it's an ethereal experience. The grounds are gorgeous and secluded, you feel like you should be in Europe. This place is a hidden gem in Redlands, CA. This was the first place I looked at for wedding venues, I couldn't stop comparing everything else I looked at to Kimberly Crest. Once it was booked, Tanya and her team were so on top of managing Venue related wedding necessities from beginning to end. They did such a fantastic job at communicating and promptly replying. They worked with my budget needs and gave me amazing recommendations and ideas for the wedding. They let me come by the venue as much as I needed to. I never felt like I was annoying them (with all of my questions, as a bride usually has), they remained patient and kind throughout the process. The Kimberly Crest House & Gardens team really did go above and beyond for me and my now husband. They took on responsibilities outside of their assigned roles to ensure my wedding day ran as smoothly as possible. I, unfortunately, had entrusted a wedding coordinator that did not meet my expectations and neglected several of her duties. But, Tanya and her team quickly picked up the slack and ensured my day turned out as magical as I ever dreamt it could be. I have so much love for this venue and the team! I was looking up things to see in Redlands and Kimberly Crest House is one of the first things to pop up. The drive to the house is always nice seeing a lot of Victorian style homes along the way. Parking was easy on the sides of the house. It's free to roam the gardens, I believe from 10AM - 4PM and then there are house tours for charge starting at 1PM. We came at 10AM when the gardens open to walk around. The gardens were pretty and serene. Being there early, we were one of the only folks there, aside from someone getting their Quinceanera photos taken and staff taking a couple to do a wedding venue tour. The italian-style gardens and and sculptures were nice to walk around. Some koi fish in both ponds (front and back). You don't need a long time to walk through the space, maybe 30 minutes but there's the nearby Prospect Park across the street that's nice to see too! read more

I was fortunate to participate in the Holiday Lights & Victorian Nights tour!!! There is something magical about visiting during the night and seeing the splendor of this French Chateau during a Victorian Christmas!!! The tickets were purchased online. The parking is minimal so we arrived an hour early. There was a gentleman at the entrance asking for the names on the reservation (no QR code needed). The docent was very knowledgeable and shared information as we made our way through every room on the first and second floor. We also entered the carriage house. Kimberly Crest House is a beautiful mansion not far from fowntown Redlands. It is one of the most interesting things to see while visiting the area. Once I saw photos of it I knew I had to check it out during our day trip. Check their site before you go for the schedule and updates. Tours (to visit the interior) are only Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays from 1-3 or 3:30. I called ahead and they do tours at 1 pm, 2 pm, and last one at 3 pm. I knew I might make it to the one at 2 pm, but I wasn't sure. I got there when the tour was gathering and I rand inside the office ticket house (next to the restrooms) to buy tickets ($15 per person) and join the tour. The lady who was selling the tickets was concerned and a tad inflexible, but I knew from other house tours that they don't start immediately, the group wasn't big and I couldn't wait around for the one at 3 pm (I had a train to catch back to LA and other activities scheduled in the area). After a tad of back and forth, I got the tickets and join the tour. The tour takes about 30-40 minutes. They have a guide for the outside, another one for the main level inside and another one for the upstairs part. A bit strange, but this is how they roll. And you do find out about many interesting things during the tour. Too bad you can't take photos inside. Kimberly Crest looks like a French chateau from outside and Victorian inside. The gardens are beautiful, Italian style with roses, a nice pond and beautiful views (you can see the snow on the San Bernandino mountains in the background). The property has an orange grove that connects to Prospect Park. Kimberly Crest family are the ones who owned Kleenex, etc. They developed and improved the property more after they purchased it from Mrs. Hill. Upstairs not all the rooms are open for visitation but it is interesting to browse at least half of the floor. If the mansion looks familiar and you are a horror fan, you might recognize it from "Hell Night", the Linda Blair flick. Some of it (outdoors) was shot here. You can walk around the property before or after the tour, I noticed people who come here just to check the grounds or locals who picnic here or use this beautiful place for their regular walk. Clean restrooms, staff could be more flexible with the tours. Big parking lot. Great property to explore, walk the grounds, enjoy the orange groves full fo fruit. Nice escape from it all! read more

THIS POST IS FOR ALL MY QUINCEAÑERAS ONLY!!!! For the price you are paying to take professional photos here, I don't personally think it's worth it. Pictures are AMAZING, scenery is great and all but my niece had to change in the only bathroom they had which consisted of 3 stalls and everyone walking in as you are changing to use the restroom. The big stall is NOT big enough for that dress let alone the people helping put on the dress. For the amount they charge PER HOUR we expected a private room for outfit changes. And that was not the case. I really hope they transition the tour room so that half of it turns into a changing room for these special photos. That room is more than big enough to make a part of it into a changing areas. I wish I would have taken pictures of the restroom but I did not. It was 2 small stalls and one big one and the sink area. read more

Major improvements: better customer engagement! I very was disappointed with our photo session! It was my first time at the property. When I arrived no one came to greet us. I didn't want to intrude so we waited a few minutes. The parking area was dirty. The grass was overwatered and muddy in some areas and the rest was dry and a lot of the landscape was dry as well. The fish pond did not look like the pictures shown. The worst experience was a guest relationship team member came out and was rude stating " your time is up, you need to leave and move your cars". During our photo session people kept walking by and we had wait for them to move so they would not come out in our background. The guest relationship member was condescending, impolite, discourteous, disrespectful, insulting and abrupt. Her tone of voice was ungracious. Our experience was negatively memorable. read more

Had my first visit yesterday and it was quite lovely. The house and gardens are beautifully kept. The gardens area can be freely roamed but guided house tours requires a pass to be purchased (All proceeds go to the upkeep and preservation of the property). The docents were such a pleasure (Nancy, Norma & Susan) and told us all the History of the house and the families that lived there. It was wonderful to see all original furniture and collectibles inside (highly recommend the tour). They also offer air conditioned restrooms for visitors convenience (located in the garden house, also where you purchase tickets for the guided tour). Come check thins place out, it's wonderful and there's lots of history and beautiful art to see. read more

The staff were beyond outstanding, Paige was very responsive and answering all my questions. I did not end up doing my engagement photos here due to traffic from our next destination however, I would definitely consider doing photos in the future but also recommend it to everyone. This place was so beautiful. The grounds is very well kept super clean and amazing greenery. My daughter and I purchased tickets online for the house tour. It was a short quick tour but very informative. The host was quick to answer questions and very enthusiastic with her info. The house was very well decorated clean and showed the amount of vintage feel it has was like you were back in time. I would definitely recommend taking the time to come and see this place. I stumbled over this gem while browsing on Instagram. It's a really cute house owned by John A. Kimberly, one of the founders of the Kimberly-Clark Corporation, and his wife Helen Cheney Kimberly. Their daughter inherited the property and gifted it to the city of Redlands. Unfortunately, the Carriage House & gift shop were closed when I visited. A good thing to know is that dogs are not allowed on the grounds, but Prospect Park is just right next door so you can take your pooch there instead. And before you enter the house, you're required to turn your cell phones off and no picture taking is allowed. Photos are only allowed of the outside of the house and grounds. All in all, I recommend this as a go see. The docents were all extremely friendly and the one who actually orated our tour was very pleasant and knowledgeable. Our docent was so pleasantly inviting and made the history so relateable, that she inspired me to attend an orientation to become a docent at my local museum. Wish me well with that. read more

Tours of the property are available 1-4pm (I believe the last tour leaves 30 minutes prior to close) on Thursday-Saturday, so we did not interact with any employees but the property was open to walk through leisurely. Kimberly crest is located along side of Prospect park.... it's beautiful and elegant old mansion & grounds are something to see....... can't wait for Covid to disappear so it can reopen for tours, parties & weddings.... there is also a beautiful carriage house on the grounds plus an outdoor amphitheater for summer plays...... I'm always amazed at the beauty of the Mansion and the grounds.... You can see the groundskeepers out working daily to keep up with the grounds and surrounding areas up.... Beautiful estate and definitely worth walking the property. If you do not want to pay for the interior tour, you can just park and walk the property yourself, which is what I did. The grounds are stunning and the area is safe. Parking is free. The house has gardens, statues, and if you are a fan of architecture and old school glam, then definitely check this out. read more

Oh, and you can only see half the 2nd floor because the right side is structurally unstable. A danger to public safety. I came from San Fernando valley to take my daughter's Quinceañera pictures here. It is very beautiful. We arrived half an hr early to get her ready. The other party had their stuff all over the one restroom that we're suppose to use, so that made it hard to get ready. As soon as our time was up someone came out to make sure we were leaving. Prior to our photo shoot no one had come out to have the other party leave. They had a wedding to follow. As we came out of the restroom after changing we said, "bye and thank you" to the staff. They didn't say anything the first time so we repeated ourselves. They didn't bother to stop their conversation and kindly reply anything. I understand they had a big event happening soon. But it's just common courtesy. That's the only reason I gave 4 stars. read more

Nice venue, A little outdated but for The most part the venue was okay. Now if we're talking about employees and who's running everything I can honestly say they're horrible. Very rushy the lady "Tanya" who I think name was Kimberly AkA THE OWNER because I saw a name tag she had on that said Kimberly (I could be wrong) but either way when I asked for her name she said it was "Tanya" but she was walking around with her phone counting every minute because they only give you 1 hour to clean up and they charge PER MINUTE after the hour is up. She kept Complaining about too many cars in the driveway when different vendors were loading up which is crazy but okay. She kept saying the boss kept calling because of This and because of that just nit picking really I couldn't imagine the anxiety my friend who got married felt the whole time knowing her whole wedding had to be wrapped up and cleared out in 1 hour. For the amount of money being spent you'd think they'd give you a little grace but NOPE of course not. Just lots of rudeness and rushed time I wouldn't recommend this venue to a 3 legged dog to be honest there was absolutely no hospitality. I'm disgusted. Shut this place down IMMEDIATELY! This place is beautiful and breathtaking. It registers well in the camera no matter what angle. Which is why we chose this place for my daughter's pre birthday photoshoot. We came in too early for our 10am photoshoot, but they were extremely strict about it (i understand) and the staff clearly was mad and made snarky comments about being too early, but she was nice enough to open the holding room next to the restroom so we can wait until our actual start time. We started shooting at 10am, but the group prior to us did not leave right away (stayed for 30 more minutes) and kept taking photos way past their time which was supposedly our time, but she did not tell them to leave so we assumed it was okay to still keep taking photos close to the gate, as long as you are not right in front of the mansion. By exactly 11am we were told to stop and leave. There was a new group who were taking photos at the gardens during OUR time but they weren't told to leave. It felt like she was only mean to us at some point, but I guess she realized that and told us we could take photos down by the grassy area by the gate, which we did and we are thankful for that. We took a few photos as well at the park next to it, but realized we didn't have a photo of my daughter wearing her blue dress at the mansion. We were told that professional cameras are not allowed unless you have paid for a photo appointment, so we assumed iPhone camera is ok. So we went back but without our photographer. They left already. And mind you, we didn't even pass the fountain by the stairs. We stayed out of sight, by the grassy area and only took a couple of shots with an iPHONE! Not even 2 minutes later, an older gentleman walked over to us, asked us if we have an appointment, to which I said we did in the morning but I was under the impression that iPhones are fine and not considered "professional camera" but he angrily told me NO and basically to leave. My husband had to go to the restroom and I told him we would just wait for him, but he kept giving us attitude, hovering at us and kept staring at us making us feel like we were thieves. I understand their strict policy, and I don't want to bring race into it, but it felt like they were nicer to people who aren't Asians. He ruined what could had been a wonderful experience. We got our photos, but I don't think I'd ever recommend this place to anyone especially Asians. Take your $200 elsewhere. read more

What a magical place!! Beautiful flower gardens, loving walking trails and the tour of the home is very informative and interesting.

Lovely little excursion in Redlands, 10 dollars to tour the mansion, buy tickets online or in person but they only take cash. Tour is about 45 minutes, if you have trouble standing for that length of time then maybe this is not for you as you cannot seat in any of the furniture, after all it is a historic site. Pete, our guide was fantastic and funny. To walk the grounds is free, walk to the orange groves next door, I believe you can pick oranges but not 100 % sure. They have restrooms on a separate building, next to where you buy the tickets. read more
