As many restaurants this is a bit spendy and you want really good food if it's priced at the high end. I felt Andy's fell short. I went there for the walleye fingers which i read somewhere were hand dipped. They were pretty good, a little fishy perhaps, and nice batter but could've been a little crispier. I had the fish and chips version. The waffle fries were just barely ok. i like them thicker, hotter, and wish they came with seasoned sour cream. My hubby had the brisket sandwich and paid $2.50 extra for a small salad. I tried a bite and thought it was a bit greasy. He thought it was okay. We did have great service. Probably won't go back. if you do go don't sit in the back by the bathrooms unless you don't mind the smell of restaurant dish washer. read more

Good food and beer ! Octoberfest my favourite! Also fish and chips was walleye and was delicious and so was their tartar sauce! Good service for a Friday and it was fast! Service always great. Soups are homemade & tasty. Steaks and shrimp are always really good and you cannot beat the prices!

The dinner entries are mediocre at best. The fish and chips has a breading that is neither crisp nor light, rather tasteless. The steak in the steak salad only comes well done and the salad mix was uneventful. read more

** UPDATE **. the rude "manager" seems to actually be the OWNER! He turned down over $600 in food and drink to a group that was willing to wait for service. I feel bad for the waitstaff that missed out on those tips** One star only because I couldn't give them no stars. A group of 15 of us showed up after main dining hours. We were told it would be a while so we took 2 open tables outside, cleared our own tables, got our own menus and ordered our own drinks from the bar, perfectly content to wait. When I went to the bar to get sodas for the kids the manager informed me he "had a reservation for 100 people and they couldn't help us". I told him we were happy to wait but he informed me "no, your group has to go". I clarified he wanted a ticket of 15 people to go find somewhere else to eat and he said yes. The bar staff and wait staff were perfectly lovely but I would steer clear due to very poor management. (the restaurant was practically empty when we left and got pizza at a nearby pizza place that was AMAZING to work with!). Our group will never eat at Andy's again. read more

One day was great, so we went back the next day and were so disappointed with our service the second time. Our server on our second visit was Vicky and she was the worst server I've ever experienced. She couldn't remember anything or get anything right. I really suggest she start writing things down. She forgot or screwed up so many things, that I completely lost my appetite. We would have spent a lot more money if she had ever offered refills. Still tipped her an undeserving 15% for a possible bad day but really think this isn't the right job for her in my opinion. read more

Andy's is a nice establishment in Crosslake, however it had a few issues. Food: The food was average; fish tacos were definitely the best. Fries were bland and tasted previously frozen. I had to add salt to them to make them edible. Honestly Chick-fil-a does a better job with their fries. Service: The servers weren't super friendly and overall gave off a non-pleasant energy. They weren't helpful either. Ambiance: The restaurant was clean inside with good lighting. They also had a patio space to eat outside. Overall, if you come here, get the fish tacos, but share because their prices are also pretty high. read more

This place has improved so much in the last couple of years! We love it! Today it was very busy for lunch, and they only had 2 waitresses, one who also had to play bar tender. Service was speedy, and very nice. We got our food in under 10 minutes. My husbands burger, fries and soup were great, and my fried mushrooms were the best I've ever had, and the portion was huge! read more

Went Saturday for Prime Rib. My wife and I both had it. One size only. Small to medium I'd say. It was so tough we couldn't cut it with the large probably dull steak knives. Would never order THAT again. Then when the bill came there was a 3% charge because I pay with a credit card. Who carries cash anymore. When we get an extra unexpected charge like that and the food is less than expected we don't go back. Plenty of good restaurants that don't do that. After 20 years, we will now write Andy's "off". read more

The owner is a price gouger. Has upped prices beyond his customer base. Some food is good, but does not justify the price. Inconsistent preparation and quality. The waffle fries are awful, but he keeps serving them, despite the fact they are tasteless. No other fry offer. The best help have left or been fired. Owner sits around looking smug, never lifts a finger, and though I had been there many times, acts like he has never seen me before. He has now added 3% if paying with a card. The waitress Vicki was very unfriendly, slow to get drinks. The ribs were over cooked. We had 2 tabs she ran the wrong cards on the tabs. On top of that she lost one credit card and basically blamed us. Terrible service and I'm in the industry. read more

I sat at the bar for about 15 minutes and not one waiter or bartender gave me any attention or even offer a menu. We were in Crosslake in seek of breakfast bites before a meeting. We stopped at Andy's after seeing their "breakfast Sat/Sun" sign out front. Upon entering, we were the only family in the restaurant, which usually makes me nervous but indoor dining had just opened back up so we gave them the benefit of the doubt. Their breakfast menu is small, about 4-5 items, and no kids menu. As a family of five, we got practically everything. My daughters ended up splitting French toast and devoured it all. I enjoyed my omelet, and appreciated the fact they didn't overload it with cheese. Breakfast potatoes were crispy cubes. My husband's burrito was exactly how he would make it at home. The waitress was attentive and offered suggestions to my picky kid (she was one who split the French toast). The coffee was good and the portions were generous. Great place for bloody Mary's. The liquor store, now competing with two others in town has an amazing selection of spirits and beer. Plus, it is the only place in town with a a walk-in humidor. While the selection has gone down from the cigar hey day of a few years ago, it is still the only place in town. read more

Ate here tonight after trying two other Crosslake eateries--one was too busy, the other was filthy. The food at Andy's was okay, but the service was weird. There was a mixup with our drink order and we were told one drink was comped. Then the server came back and said her boss said to NOT comp the drink. We had originally said we'd pay for it--before it was comped--but it seems bush league to revoke a comp. Haven't had a good meal experience in Crosslake yet. read more

While I as reading some of my old reviews I noticed that my review of Andy's was not only old but gladly wrong now. Since my last review they have completely changed their place. It is now one of our favorite places to eat and drink. Now we're there more than we should be but heck it's only money. Great patio for Summer months and food is always excellent. My favorite is Julie's Coconut Chicken salad and Mary's is the Andy's Chicken sandwich. But make no mistake all the items are good. When hanging in Crosslake stopping in at Andy's is a must. Went to Andy's with a golf group for dinner Friday night. BUSY!!! My wife and I had the prime rib- tender, flavorful and done to our liking! I went here on the recommendation of the proprietor of a bait shop after dropping my daughter off at a summer camp. Maybe not such a great place to get a recommendation? It was actually ok. I'd add a half star to the 3, but can't manage a 4*. The venue was pretty boring but the panfried walleye was very good, mixed steamed vegetables very good too, but undercooked, and I like al dente veggies. The baked potato was the size of 2 eggs sitting next to each other after having shriveled from who knows what size. The waiter said it was their last potato (at 6pm) and they'd adjust the price. We got to Andy's at about 3:30, several people were at the bar hanging out. The waitress greeted us nicely and told us to sit anywhere. We took a table in the center of the room. The cook stepped out of the kitchen wearing a greasy apron and a bandana. Glad to see a hat on. I hope he washed his hands after smoothing down his mustache. The patty melt and fries were great as well as my dining partners juicy Lucy. It wasn't much fun eating listening to people argue at the bar though. The waitress was very nice and took good care of us. However they might need to get edges on the plates as fries slid off the plate onto the table as she sat the plates down. Andy's is under new management, and you can see the difference. The restaurant has been remodeled and looks nice. The food is good and the prices are really good - the combination will make Andy's tough to beat in the Cross Lake area. The szechuan green beans and steak bites have quickly become favorites as appetizers for a good reason, and I enjoyed the fish and chips - I normally prefer cod, but the walleye they buy is high quality. The chicken stir fry had good flavor and vegetables were very fresh. The restaurant was busy with both locals and "snow birds" - a sign that people are quickly realizing how good this place has become. read more
