Walking into the SE Eye Center on Case St for the first time and the office is beautiful. They have one TV screen by the front desk that carries an outdoor winter patio scene complete with a roaring fire in the outdoor fireplace and two hot cups of coffee steaming on a table set next to a cozy couch filled with pillows. In the waiting area, instead of stressful news or talk shows, their 72" TV screen changes with outdoor wildlife and nature videos of the beautiful plumage of winter birds and roaming deer. A short hallway that connects to more exam rooms has three hanging glass globes of varying shades of blue lighting the way with a small topiary of succulents on a nearby shelf. Before I ever saw a doctor I was completely relaxed. By the time I was seen, the staff were friendly and professional and the doctor himself, Dr Kaufman, was very knowledgeable, explaining the procedure I was being sent there for and answering my questions until I was satisfied. This is a busy but efficient practice with three physicians and a number of support professionals, all of whom are friendly, thorough, and willing to explain procedures and options carefully and answer any questions. My cataract surgeries were performed at an outpatient setting in Waterford, which was also an easy and reassuring experience.
