Just wanted to write to let everyone know how pleased we are with Colchester Eye Care - both doctors are very dedicated to their profession and take their time with each patient. We just got back from a spontaneous visit with the optician as we had received a call that my husband's glasses were ready. Well, not only were his glasses ready, the optician had been working on my lenses, and took the time to finish grinding my lenses and put them in my frames, too! So, we both were able to leave with our new glasses! Saved me a trip back for mine. Excellent service! My daughter and I have always had good experiences at Colchester Eye Care. We're able to get in quickly when I make appointments for annual exams and immediately when we have emergencies. Recently, I called the on-call line at midnight with a return call coming in about three minutes later. Dr. Dempsey thoroughly explained the situation and assured me I would not wake up blind if I slept on it. He cautioned me against excessive contact use and said the doctors would work with me to find the right lenses for my needs and lifestyle. I was seen promptly when the office opened for the day. The staff at Colchester Eye Care is exceptional. This past weekend I had an unexpected infection in my eye that suddenly appeared and was very painful and scary. Dr. Wederking was on call and immediately got back me (early on a Saturday morning) and had me come right in so she could check it out. I was so incredibly thankful for her quick decision and expertise. Dr. Dempsey is extremely thorough, and sincerely cares about his patients. Over the years, there have been medical issues out of the ordinary that he did not hesitate to make a referral to ensure we received the best treatment possible. I have been told by the specialists we were referred to that he was very astute in being able to diagnose some of these medical issues that were often times overlooked by other physicians. I have been going here for years and very much appreciate Dr. Dempsey's suggestions and care. He actually recommended that I buy one pair of glasses rather than two to make sure I like them first. Clearly the focus is on customer satisfaction, not the bottom line. Dr. Dempsey always explains everything that he is doing and makes recommendations based on his knowledge of the product and what he feels will work for the client. I and my family have been going to Colchester Eye Care since moving to Colchester 12 years ago. We have all had great care there, all of the staff and doctors have been great. Karen is wonderful at helping pick out frames, etc. The doctors are all good and explain any concerns very well. they also do not 'push' you to change your prescription if you really do not have to.
