This morning, minutes after opening I walked into the store carrying a small recyclable bag that had my wallet, phone and glasses. John stopped me and said I had to leave the bag at the front register. Of course I would not because of the contents. When I asked 'why' he told me it was company policy. He stated this several times. I was taken back and left the store rather than leave my bag. I went across the street to Spec's and spent just over $200. And get this, I had the same bag with me and no one said anything. I called the store that evening to share my experience with the manager and guess who answered? John. I wanted to speak to the manager but would not let me and continued to tell me it was company policy several times. After additional frustration, I ended the call. Guess what? I reached out to Goody Goody corporate and learned that there is no specific company policy about bags but the store may have created their own policy. Needless to say, Spec's has my business from now on. I do not recommend this location because of a dumb store policy and John's inability to provide exceptional customer service

He immediately responded without looking anything up that he had sold the last one yesterday. I then asked for a different one and again said, "we sold the last one just today." I then asked if they would be getting any more, he replied that they never know what's coming in. He did direct me to other Spec's locations. I immediately drove to another Spec's location in Dalworthington Gardens where the employee looked up the beer on the computer, asked to check the name again and looked on the stores app. She let me know that unfortunately Spec's does not carry this beer at all. Thank you very much to the Cooper St. employee who sent me on the wild goose chase where I found my NEW FAVORITE liquor store. Spec's on Pioneer Parkway in Dalworthington Gardens where they have great customer service!

That matches with Sam's Club, too, but I think Tom Thumb's is more convenient because we are located much too far from a Sam's nowadays. Got the savings going, plus TT also has a sitting area reminiscent of a coffee shop. Maybe I am late to the party, but I simply love this area. Perfect for studying and eating some soup. Speaking of soups, TT has some amazing in store soups on the go! I love the Cajun jambalaya which really is quite spicy but scrumptious with those little mini crackers. Also, their thick chicken noodle soup is fab. Like your grandma's, just an instant feeling of goodness when you eat it if you're feeling blue/sick. But it's been in steep decline and with the arrival of HEB to the area, we woke up and are examining the grocery landscape we've been blind to. We since have been coming here and we are very pleased! For starters, this place looks immaculate, totally spotless, so orderly and neat it's amazing. We even said "this place is roughy the same age as the Kroger up the road and this proves Kroger has no excuse to look so dilapidated, when THIS is possible in roughly the same area". It's so orderly, I couldn't help but even straighten up the voids I made in the products as we shopped like I worked there! Haa! I just respected it, you know? Anyway, the prices are on average a bit lower too, some by a lot! I believe the reason is they don't dabble in the annoying point system or the apps to try to hook shoppers into a "marriage" of sorts the way everyone does these days. To not even try to game shopper's behavior or try to track them at all they don't have to invest in it, so everything is straightforward and they have a lower overhead. I LOVE it. I'm done with having Kroger hook me into buying gas from them in a loop of trying to get the most out of points nonsense. Winco is the simple old way and I've missed it (and a little annoyed at myself for missing out all these years, but no more)! The checkout is great, staffed far more "human" than Krogers, and even have the choice in paper/plastic to optimize your sacking. The employees straight-up seem frankly happier to be there, and authentically, not robotically acting out a script. A nice bunch. They surely must be to actually try as hard as they do and it shows by just looking around. I could go on and on, we were very analytical about our "change-over" and we doubtless will be checking out HEB when they finally open, but regardless how good they are too, Winco has TOTALLY won us over and we will be coming back here regularly for good! The store has a wide selection of liquor, wine, beer and mixers. They also have small shot sizes of some liquors. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. During these times they are wearing masks and have a shield between us and them at the register.
