BEWARE- This doctor fired me over her religious reasons. My former Rhumatologist of 7 years moved away, and I had to re-establish with a new doctor. Dr. Mazhar was on my Florida Blue Plan, and the closest dr to me, so I went before checking reviews. The office is large, friendly staff. She has no bedside manner at all (which I don't mind if they are good doctors). After a few minutes, and some deeply personal questions and answers, she said, "Ok, this isn't going to work. Do not schedule another appointment with me, AND I will be sure to bill you for my time". Dumbfounded, I asked receptionist to speak with a manager. Maria took me in a private room and interviewed me while taking notes. 3 months later, I get a bill totaling $361.00. It took me multiple calls with Florida Blue, and "Internal Medicine Associates" to get the bill reconciled. Also, I still needed a Rhumatologist. This time I checked reviews, first. Do yourself a favor and read this review if you're considering this quack. And read all the other negative reviews you find online: they're all true. This is where it all began for me. Two years ago a clicking manifested in my left wrist. I thought it might be carpal tunnel, and everyone told me to ignore it. Six months later the clicking jumped to my right hand, then moved up my arms. This is where it was when I decided to seek the opinion of a rheumatologist. I had the misfortune of choosing Dr Mazhar. First, she barely speaks English. I'm sure she can read and write it just fine, but she's obviously shy or asocial and hasn't had much practice speaking it with people. I knew then that this would pose an obstacle to accurate diagnosis, but I was desperate and knew nothing about doctors or the system. Second, she has no people skills. Very aloof and quiet. As for my visit, she ordered the first of what would be many blood labs. (By the way, I chatted with the friendly American secretary on my way out, and she told me not to worry, because Dr Mazhar "likes to solve puzzles." LOL.) So my labs came back and two things were abnormal: Antistreptolysin titer and C-Reactive Protein. At this point a competent rheumatologist would have sat up straight and said, Ok, you have an infection and it's becoming rheumatic; let me figure out what we can give you to arrest this process. Did Mazhar do this? Nope. She didn't even look interested. She made a note that it "could be" reactive arthritis, as I had guessed from day one. But nothing was done. Even with an ASO titer of 512 (200% over the 200 mark!), I was sent away to wait another month for a follow-up while my symptoms worsened. And on the day of the follow-up, more dumb stares and another round of bloodwork. ASO falling, but still elevated. Nothing ventured. I informed the secretary I'd be looking for another doctor. I should add that on this second visit, I saw one older woman walk out in frustration, declaring that she "doesn't even listen to what I am saying." I asked the secretary if this is common; she said yes. It's now 2015 and the problem has taken over my body. My hips grind, my knees are giving out, every joint pops or grinds, and my life is ruined. I'm not irrational and don't think Mazhar did this to me; but she was there at the beginning, had the smoking gun staring her in the face, and she did nothing. She is slow, asocial, and doesn't speak my language. She does not care at all what happens to me, and it appears her other patients. She directly contributed to the ruin of my life - I am in my thirties - by her passivity, lack of professional bearing, and plain stupidity. I agree with M.L. I am 34. My experiences especially the last was awful. Do yourself a favor and find someone else. She will not listen to you. At my last appointment I told her some things she did not want to hear because I was sick of her not listening to me so she told me she would not be refilling any of my medications although she knew I needed them and that it would take a good 2-3 months to get in with a new rheumatologist She will look at you like you are nuts if you mention a cortisone injection and tell you she does not do those in her office although it says she does on her webpage. Don't even bother asking her to examine your neck. Find someone else. It has been a year since my last visit with the so called Dr. Mazhar and I still get furious thinking about her. read more

Absolute worst experience. The arrogance is appalling and the total lack of concern surprised both me and my wife. She didnt want to hear anything from me. No concern or regard for anything from me--- After 3 minutes she turned and said --- Well-- I cant help you!! go find a Family Physician. We were both dumbfounded... I have had Gout for 15 yrs and managed it successfully for the past 5 yrs.. then It got bad for the past 3 months so I got in to see her.... Worst mistake to ever trust any of your health concerns with this callous person..cause she is the furthest thing from a caring doctor. read more

Dr. Mazhar is a kind woman. However, after being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease I was not given any further explanation or tips on treatments and managing the disease. I was basically told I was hopeless, loaded up on medications and sent home. If you already know about your disease and just need someone to prescribe medications, then she's the one for you. I, however, am quite young and didn't have much knowledge So it would have been nice to have someone give me more information and show me my options. read more

This so-called Dr. is rudest most ill-informed Dr. I have ever come across. She practices in Bonita Springs one day a week and the office is filthy, as goes well with her appearance in a dirty lab coat. She barely speaks intelligible English and even my other Dr. could not understand what she was saying when he spoke with her. On my visit today I informed her that I had seen another Rheumatologist for a second opinion and he did not agree with her prognosis of Psoriatic arthritis. I asked her how she came upon that prognosis and she could not give me a credible answer, then said maybe it was Rheumtioid arthritis. I told her the medication I was on was not helping me and asked if I should be on something else. She told me anything else would kill me. I asked her if I should be on a stronger dosage and she said yes but to get my Pulmonologist to prescribe it. I told her my Pulmonologist said she was supposed to be in charge of this and she told me that since some type of autoimmune disease was attacking my lungs I was going to die from this so it really didn't matter. My Pulmonolgist told me three days ago my lungs were clear and there were no problems. She then jumped up and tried to leave the office and I told her to sit back down, I wasn't down with her yet. She told me she was busy and ran out of the office. I will be posting reviews about this quack everywhere I can, will be filing a complaint against her with the AMA, and will also be looking into legal action.
