She is incredibly knowledgeable and is also very good at explaining complex medical issues in a way that I can understand. My autoimmune disease had been misdiagnosed for more than 12 years before I came to Dr. Johnston. She knew exactly which labs, imaging, and other testing to order, and she was able to correctly diagnose a condition that my previous doctors had been telling me was something completely different. Since then, she has worked with me to find the biologic that works best for me, which has made a real difference in my mobility and overall quality of life. Just as importantly, I've always felt that Dr. Johnston listens to me and takes my concerns seriously. When something changes or a new problem comes up, I know I can ask questions and get thoughtful guidance rather than feeling rushed or dismissed. Her staff are wonderful as well. Everyone in the office is kind and helpful, and they even remember my name when I come in, which makes the office feel especially welcoming. Dr. Johnston's medical assistant is always helpful and responsive, and the staff are exceptionally good at navigating the complicated process of getting biologic medications approved by insurance. They also know how to help patients find assistance programs when medications aren't covered or are otherwise unaffordable. Managing a chronic autoimmune disease can be complicated, and having a physician and office staff who are both knowledgeable and genuinely helpful makes an enormous difference. From the doctor down, you are treated with dignity and the highest of standards. They actually listen, and I've never in my life called an office where the doctor actually answers and speaks on the phone. This place is top notch and worth every penny. I've found so much comfort from my treatment, and my infusions have been some of the best I've ever had. Lolita is his nurse, and she is a gem. She is the kindest, most caring and attentive soul. She will do anything to make your treatment comfortable. From the front office, to the infusion rooms, and then the restrooms this place is spotless. It's clean and comfortable, and you feel like you're visiting a spa more than a doctor's office. This is not a cash cow place. They have an extensive background in anesthesia and keep up on all the latest medical studies on depression, anxiety, PTSD, and pain treatments. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Not to mention, they make every effort to accommodate an appointment as soon as possible, or reschedule appointments when necessary. I'd give them 10 stars if it were possible! My dad died one year ago, and in 2 months she was dx with myasthenia gravis, spending a month in…read morethe hospital. My mom (85 years old) had no medical problems prior to this other than hypertension, and she was volunteering running the office of Meals on Wheels in her town. Depression set in, and nothing we did could help her. Got her affairs all in order; she had been hinting about suicide for some time; the family all was very engaged and doing the best that all of us could. Nevertheless, she had a suicide attempt one month ago; thankfully with no lasting damage. Her last stop was ketamine. She unwaveringly believed that any of her physical symptoms were a product of depression, she believed it was the disease, which myasthenia gravis (which it does not-it is autoimmune). My 85 years old mom had two ketamine infusions so far. After one treatment we all saw the difference, she denied feeling any different initially The second treatment in the same week-Whoa, we got our mom back! She was out of bed only about 4 hours a day previously. She couldn't walk without walker or cane; she was very unsteady on her feet. No appetite. No interest in anything or anyone. Talked with her eyes closed. This morning she told me, "I can think clearer, it's not as fuzzy. I was pulling weeds in the yard this morning, can you imagine? I went shopping yesterday with Denise for 5 hours!" She has gone to the senior center-alone, on SCAT. She is welcoming physical therapy to come in. She wakes in the morning and goes to bed at night. No naps. She will rest, but she will be on her iPad playing scrabble. Her gait is normal, no walker, no cane, and beginning to zip around like she used to. (We joke it's like miracle like Lazarus). I am an RN of 41 years, many of those years in mental health. I have NEVER seen such excellent results with any treatment. I have to admit, I have been giving her MD's a rough time believing that with "more or different medication" we can treat the exhaustion from her disease. Even a seasoned professional myself did not realize THE EXTENT her depression had on her physical symptoms. The Veterans Administration throughout the country has APPROVED Ketamine Clinics in all their medical centers since nothing so far done has curbed the number of suicides in our veterans. Ketamine is not experimental treatment, it is the state-of the-art treatment for depression. Many people to do not realize that depression has so many physical symptoms; one attributes it to aging or other medical diagnoses. Yes, a medical diagnosis brings on exhaustion of the body, however, the component of the "emotional anguish and exhaustion" of dealing with a physical illness is separate. Depression is NOT a normal process of aging. This is a fallacy. Yes, the older adult has continued loss of friends from death and loss of bodily functions. Nevertheless, sadness to the point of suicide is NOT a part of aging. My grandmother lived until 96. Mom has a good decade yet. Our goal is to get her feeling strong enough to visit Israel again, something place she holds dear to her heart. I'm expecting it will take about 6 months since due to the depression, she has become so debilitated from bedrest so many months. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

They go above and beyond. Very thorough too. Even suggested blood labs when we weren't seeing issues with mri, exam and X-rays. They get to the bottom of the issue. Was also appreciative that they respect options and costs. Both kids needed boots and wraps and they fitted them in office and gave price but also suggested Amazon if we wanted to try on our own. We didn't but it was nice to know they supported options. Highly recommend

Dr David Sugar, lacks empathy…read more Myself and wife are both patients of Dr David Sugar. Previously we had a problem with Dr Sugar's staff he said to us "if you ever have a problem again, come see me and I'll take care of it". Starting two weeks ago my wife started to suffer with severe pain in her arm and shoulder. Not knowing what it was, she first visited our GP who diagnosed the condition tendonitis and suggested she visit out orthopedist, Dr David Sugar. After trying unsuccessfully for over a week, we decided that we would go to Dr Sugar's office without an appointment and wait to see him. We got there at 12:30 and was advised that if we didn't have an appointment she would not been seen by the Doctor. She explained the severity of the pain and said she would wait to see the Doctor. Fast forward 5 hours when the office manager again told us that Dr Sugar would not see her. My wife then said she only wanted to talk to him. She was told no. Though she was offered an appointment 2 days later, it became obvious it was just a ploy to get us to leave because early the next morning, we received call saying that we could no longer receive medical care from Dr Sugar and that our records were to be transferred to another doctor's office. Obviously Dr Sugar forgot his telling us "if you ever have a problem again, come see me and I'll take care of it". He did not even show the empathy one expects from a Doctor, but even from a decent man. He did not, and could not, find 5 minutes for long time patient in pain

But I was immediately was deflated by their imposing sales team who relentlessly serviced me first, & informed me of their "products", but their "actual" service was so incredibly minimal & bare, it barely performed the actual practice it is supposed to for fill. Their office was actually filthy and the service at the front desk left everything to be desired. The ladies ignored me when I came in. Just chatting to each other, like I never existed for a first time customer. Their nurse was nice but everything was disgusting in manners, in cleanliness, and timing. I came from Silicon Valley, California, being a resident for many years there, With highly accredited physicians office there and was sorely disappointed with the handle and care of the renowned "Gapin Institute" to which I was recommended loosely from a physician's office in Lakewood Ranch area. But, It really was the "Crap-in Istituate" Thank goodness for Dr Corey Lucas as he is an accredited physician with an immense span of credentials. He has an equal team of professionals meeting his requirements due to his diligence of caring from his heart not from his intake of of daily patients. And diatribe of salesman. Dr Corey Lucas has been and is a personal care physician & HRT doctor for the last several months of my being relocated in Florida. If you are looking for a doctor who is quantum qualified in emergency medicine, primary care and HRT medicine, Please this is your place. I can't believe the amount of phoney doctors who piggyback off your needs. Like the Gapin Institute. Dr Corey Lucas is one of the best physician's I have met since California who displays absolute integrity & care, something that is missing from today's healthcare in general.
