If you're a fan of classic video games, this is the place to go. They have tons of classic games, systems, controllers, etc. Want a certain game for the 3DS? They probably have it. Want to get a Sega Master System? They probably have it. They also have stuff like posters, plushies, and other merch for all sorts of game franchises. Oh, and did I mention they have arcade cabinets like Street Fighter 2, The Simpsons (4-player version!), and more along with a couple of neat pinball machines (I think they recently added a Pokemon one that's super cool)? Fantastic experience and super personalized compared to big name brand game stores. I went in to turn in a gameboy advance I bought from them a while ago and they were more than willing to take it and give me back most of what I spent. The staff are passionate about games and all of them are genuinely nice people, especially Jason who was extremely helpful to my friend and I. Their selection of games is also unique and I found a lot of games from my childhood (I guess it's in the name). This place is AWESOME!!! The owners Jason and Rebecca are truly genuine people!! I have been coming here for years, ever since they opened their doors. I love that they are keeping the spirit of retro gaming alive! I am writing this review to let you all know that they will go the extra mile to make sure you are well taken care of. I bought a game genie for a Super Nintendo and it turns out that the game genie wasn't compatible with the Super Nintendo that I got from them. Apparently this is actually a thing that happened in the early 90s. Jason, who was clearly coming down with something (poor dude had a raging headache and was feeling nauseous) took the time to take appart the Super Nintendo to see if there were any internal complications. Also, he brought down two other Super Nintendo's to see if the game genie would work on them. He ended up taking the game genie back for a full refund. I cannot say enough good things about Nostalgia Alley!!! I wish I could give them more then 5 stars. They seriously deserve a million. read more

Service was great, we went in hoping to trade in a Nintendo DS but we decided not to. The selection was great they had a lot of games but the best thing about it is that they have great prices on consoles and games and they will be honest about what's wrong or different with the console (ex: yellowing screen) and will mark down the price. Very good prices. I also had a problem with my DS and the guy really tried and I ended up fixing my DS problem. I bought a 3Ds from him and he threw in a case and charger for free! Nostalgia Alley is a rad, independent game store. They've got stacks on stacks of vintage video games (loved seeing the N64 selection) and video game consoles for sale. As soon as we stepped into the store, we got a warm welcome from all the members of staff on duty (I would say that's not the norm at most video game stores I've been to). The space is decorated with sweet nerd memorabilia and artwork. They have a good selection of plushies, and I will likely be back for some Super Mario ones! Whether you're into modern or retro gaming, Nostalgia Alley has something for you. I plan on returning to buy Christmas presents for friends and family, if not sooner. read more

Nostalgia Alley brings back childhood memories. My boyfriend actually found this store when he was trying to sell his old game console and video games. After his experience, I decided to clean my closet and bring in some stuff I had. The manager, Jason was friendly and patiently looked through an old Pokémon collection, Super Mario games and a Playstation console. He offered a fair price and I was satisfied was the sale. I would rather support a locally owned business than sell my stuff online. The store itself is small, but there is plenty to check out. There are rows upon rows of vintage video games and older game consoles for purchase. There are lots of plushies including Pokémon and Mario characters and accessories such as lunch bags, stickers, pens, erasers, coffee mugs and tumblers. They also have retro arcade games in the back. The staff are very friendly and helpful with all your gaming needs. Make sure to say hi to the stores dog, Jasper who is usually napping behind the counter. read more

After being on the hunt for a GameCube for some time, I decided to purchase one and support a local business instead of buying online. After my experience here I would have preferred to purchase online. The consoles are marked at a premium price, so I would expect a premium console. I paid about $50 over market value for a GameCube for the sake of convenience and was given a broken console. I asked for a GameCube and got one pulled from the back, presumably untested, because when I got home to play the console it didn't power on. I understand that these things happen but I feel like the store was rushing to make a sale and sold me an untested console. I brought it back the next day and was told I couldn't receive a refund and could only exchange. The employees then gave me a GameCube that I assume was only wiped down quickly. When I got home I was surprised by the amount of dust and grime in the console. There were even spider webs inside of it. Overall pretty disappointed in my experience and will probably not be returning. read more

I stopped into Nostalgia Alley when passing by because it looked great from the outside. There's an amazing selection of vintage games and refurbished, cleaned and restored consoles. Then they mentioned the upstairs Gamers Alley. It's a very cool space you can book and rent. It's decked out with different console platforms, and some arcade stand up games. All set up for free play. We had a great time, but the two hours flew by fast! Really great staff, friendly and they know their stuff! read more

We drove over from Santa Rosa today after my husband found this treasure of a shop online. He collects Nintendo NES Game Cartridges, and we were not disappointed when we got to the shop. They had game cartridges floor to ceiling, and some special edition games still in the box in their case. They also had old arcade games in the back of the shop along with plush toys, and Knick Knacks. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and went above and beyond checking inventory for us. You can tell the staff really love their jobs and greeted everyone with enthusiasm. As someone who personally knows little about these games l felt extremely comfortable in the store. The owner Jason was beyond kind and helped us out with some controller extenders. We rarely drive to Petaluma, however I think we will likely be coming to town monthly just to visit this shop. I discovered Nostalgia Alley while walking around charming downtown Petaluma with my boyfriend on a cold December night. The warm lights, laughter from the crowd inside, and plethora of vintage games drew us in. It was great to see all kinds of games and consoles you can't typically find outside of eBay. They also had lots of new merchandise like Pokemon stuffed animals. This place is absolutely amazing! The people that work here have set up a system that tells them what games they have and what games that they don't. Essentially they have a catalog. Which means you can go in and ask for a game and they can tell you if you have it within a second. Not many vintage game stores have that. My entire family loves this Nostalgia Alley! It's one of the few places we've been during COVID times that isn't the grocery store! Every trip there is so much fun!!! Walking through Nostalgia Alley is like walking through a time machine. So much retro video game goodness to look at! Better than any museum! My kids have learned so much about the classics from just looking at stuff in the store. The staff is great with children and are super knowledgeable. More so than any GameStop employee for sure!
