First: If you're struggling to find this place, please IGNORE GOOGLE MAPS. Even if you enter the correct address, it still sends you to their previous spot across the way. They are on the side where 49er Pets used to be, on the second floor on the middle building. If anything, call the store for directions. They are very responsive. This is a cool very reasonably priced used game shop. They have a HUGE selection of old games, and the owner is super knowledgable and friendly. They also have arcade games that they have available on the weekends. Definitely a great place to check out for gamers.

Very nice place. You get a really good price for buying/selling Blu-Ray discs. They have a great return policy.

Also when I'm in the mood to just browse they leave you alone and let you look. They check in with you but nothing pushy. It can get "busy" real quick. Certain transactions can take awhile and all of a sudden the employees are tied up helping a customer and the line is growing by the minute. Otherwise no complaints.

I submitted my cards nearly three weeks ago, and the order status still says "order created"--nothing has changed. I've called multiple times for updates, and each time I get a different explanation. First, I was told they typically send submissions out once a week. Then the conversation shifted to PSA's turnaround time (which I understand takes a while), but the issue is my cards haven't even left the store after almost a month. Most recently, I was told their manager--who supposedly handles all grading submissions--is on vacation, and they have "no idea" when she'll return. When I asked if I could cancel and get my cards and a refund back, I was told, "You can call us every day until you get an answer you like, but it's up to the manager." This level of disorganization and lack of accountability is unacceptable. I would not recommend trusting them with valuable cards.

Everything is priced very fairly and competitive with mainstream retailers, online platforms, and even other retro game shops. They do it all here: retro and new video games, consoles, trading cards, plushies, accessories, and more. I feel truly lucky to have found this spot. It's officially my new go-to for anything gaming-related, whether I need something ASAP, want to get a game disc resurfaced, or just want to pop in and see what's new. Their backroom looks like it's bursting with even more treasures and I'm excited to see how they grow over time. I wish San Francisco had more places like this because the city is really lacking when it comes to true video game stores. We don't even have a Gamestop anymore in the heart of the city. The closest video game store is in Stonestown, which can be very inconvenient to get to. They also have some awesome free-to-play arcade setups and welcome people to just hang out inside, which gives the place a really laid-back, community vibe. If you're looking for a specific game or system and they don't have it, they'll even take your number and give you a call once they track it down. Such a thoughtful touch. I especially love their preowned deals like the buy two, get one free promo for games priced $11.99 or less. I can't wait to come back for my next haul.

This time we visit Retroactive because I was in search for some games for my Nintendo DS lite. I found 2 games and I was so happy. The price was reasonable and i love it. We also speak with the owner and he was so nice and helpful. We were talking about games and we notice that he really loves what he is doting his store. We really recommend this store. I am so glad that we have this store near to our home. You can also find vintage vinyl records, PlayStations games, Xbox games and more. We enjoy our time and our kids were so happy.

Retroactive also hosts shows in their space which are a ton of fun and bring the community together. We left with an Xbox storage component to increase the memory of the console. It was a great value at half the cost of what we found at online merchants and we were happy to support a local business. We also couldn't resist the store merch and got a sweatshirt and t-shirt!
