With that in mind I've been going religiously to Rebecca every week for almost a year and a half now. I started with aerial silks but now I'm on lyra. Rebecca is a great instructor, her teaching style is a great mix of strength, performance art, and creativity. I definitely feel like I get the personalized curriculum that my body and mind needs. I don't feel afraid to ask her to drill me on the basics (since I wasn't an athlete or dancer before) but she also pushes me outside of my comfort zone with new amazing moves that makes you feel super empowered. No matter what day, I always get inspired to give 110%. And I will 100% of the time recommend other people to go to her as well.

The auditorium is spacious, and boasts an assortment of comfortable seating throughout - including ADA accommodations. The staff are helpful and courteous, and very efficient checking tickets and seating patrons. I was asked if this was my first visit, and heartily welcomed when I indicated it was. Although it's an hour drive from my home, I will make a point of attending performances here in the future.

I will say that they're ADA seating is a bit of a distance because the seating is sloped and ADA it's down front so you do need to go a bit steeply to downhill. The person I was supposed to go with was unable to attend so the lack of a seat was not an issue. But I was seats A5 and A6 and seat A5 was an open space so I'm assuming they have chairs they can bring out. I did not grab concessions but they actually looked to have a pretty ample selection. It's really good to know though for the future. The stage is quite large and I was delighted to see a really wonderfully done production of Arsenic and Old Lace. They seem to have a parking lot in the rear. Luckily I was able to grab something among the street quickly with only a small walk.

It is community theater, run and managed by a team of volunteers. Prices are amazing for seeing a show here. They definitely are helping the local downtown Hillsboro community by offering affordable shows on a routine basis. Since after COVID, they have been upping their game. Concessions are better, production value is better, and the variety of fun/classic shows is better. I can wait to see what's in store for them next!

I was thrilled to learn that Avi Avital the maestro of the mandolin would be joining the symphony for a special performance of Vivaldi's The Four Seasons. The guest conductor that night was also incredible. Grammy Award winner Jeannette Sorrell kept us spellbound as she introduced each movement of Vivaldi's four seasons with a brief, brilliant and clever overview explaining the meaning behind the movement. As we were treated to mandolin solos the orchestra was phenomenal. Meanwhile Ms. Sorrell accompanied the orchestra on the harpsichord. An instrument in which she holds worldwide acclaim. I sat rapt during The Four Seasons. It was imaginative and beautiful. I was truly swept away to the Italian countryside. At intermission they stopped serving warm cookies. That was disappointing. As was my neighbor to my left. A family brought their 5 year old son who had bad manners. He repeatedly kicked the seat in front of him and the parents did nothing. Please do not bring children under 10 years old to the symphony. Better yet just get a babysitter. After the intermission the full orchestra was assembled for Mozart's Symphony No. 35, "Haffner." Sorrell and the orchestra did a superb performance. The conductor is quite the sight with a head of long, curly, bright red hair that she flips around. We were treated to a pre-symphony interview with the Symphony's program annotator and the mandolin virtuoso Avi Avital. For about a half an hour he answered questions about his life and how he fell in love with the mandolin. That night was so special. What a treat. I'm happy to report that they seem more robust than ever. At a couple of recent concerts, they had a conversation with the conductor, starting an hour before the performance, and then a visiting group (frequently a high school or community classical ensemble) playing a half hour before starting time, in the mezzanine level of the lobby. The main performances are varied, and surprisingly numerous. They have the standard classical warhorses, movies shown with symphony accompaniment, pops programs, visiting soloists, visiting bands, visiting conductors. The sheer volume of rotating programming really makes me appreciate the professionalism of the orchestra itself. They must be in a constant state of preparation for multiple upcoming shows. They have something for everyone.

Recently saw the new artistic director's directorial debut: Red Velvet. Loved that they were able to bring this story to stage in the Pacific Northwest. Amazing troupe, intimate close seats. My first experience with Bag&Baggage was ten years ago and it was hot…read more Not in the sense of the actors giving a sizzling performance on stage, but more like dying of heat exhaustion watching a show (The Complete Works of Shakespeare Abridged) in the Octagonal Barn at Cornelius Pass Roadhouse when someone over stoked the fire. I don't know how the actors survived that night, but the show must go on! In the early days, Bag&Baggage was an acting troupe without a home, hence the appropriately whimsical name for their company. So they would pop up to perform on different stages and venues all over the state. Fast forward 10 years and I've gotten to really know and love this acting company which is now based in the 400 seat theatre at The Venetian in Hillsboro's historic downtown Main Street. The founder and creative director, Scott Palmer, and his cast of actors are making some really interesting choices. This season I saw the all female cast perform The Six Gentlepersons of Verona and the wonderful Our Country's Good just wrapped up an excellent run. They have a solid resident company of actors [1] and I've also been intrigued by the set design, costuming, etc. For example, The Six Gentlepersons' set was a collection of moving boxes of various sizes painted on four sides and then rotated and moved in different formations to set the stage for different scenes during the show. Portland has a wonderful theatre scene, but you don't have to be in Portland proper to have a great theatre experience. Combine that with The Venetian's bar and restaurant, free and easy parking, and you have a great dinner and a show combo in Hillsboro. As a woman of Nimiipuu (Nez Perce) and Greek parents, I was truly excited to see this production. It was well publicized on social media, so I shared out and encouraged friends to join me. It's opening weekend, and I attended the Sunday matinee to attend the opening speech given by Nimiipuu artist, Kellen Trenel, responsible for costumes and set design. His talents stem from generations of traditional beadwork, weaving, and design. The collage of personal, familial, and upcycled modern pieces were evident and truly added a special touch. The setting is small and intimate, but if I'd offer any suggestions, it would be to provide a mic for any Q&A. The story was comedic at times, and made you pause to really absorb the message. The ending packed a punch and brought tears to my eyes! Hats off to all who were involved in bringing this moving play to the area. Hillsboro is a beautiful town that I've not visited, but am glad to have had the opportunity to see more of the region.

My office is in Hillsboro and I live in Beaverton so this is truly a perfect location for me to see a show. The location is also grand when you consider how many great spots are available for getting food before the show or late night places for after the show. The parking is not ideal, especially if you have mobility issues. The parking is also not horrible - you will likely be a few blocks away so you are going to want to plan accordingly. Downtown Hillsboro does become a ghost town after 7pm so you can leisurely walk back to your car after the show. When you walk into the space it seems fairly small based on the lobby. This is just where you check in and grab some wine. The theater itself is a nice layout although you will want to be mindful to go to your right and sit far right if you are in need of a restroom a lot or else you may get stuck. There is not a bad seat in the house from what I could see. The stage and audience seating proximity is pretty perfect and the theater has a very open feel to it so I never felt cramped or like the air was stagnant etc. This is just a great place to see something unique. If A Clockwork Orange is any indication of the quality of shows put on at the Vault - I can't wait to see another show here.

IMO Murray is not a good school!!! Geraldine is anything but patient or enthusiastic (per other review) as a teacher. I did not feel she invested in her dancers at all. In fact, when my kids were there, the dancers often complained about how she treated them. I did not like the fact that parents were not allowed to observe classes or voice their concerns. If they questioned her, she would retaliate by kicking the dancer out of her school. She has a long history of doing this, just ask around. It was traumatic for everyone! Plenty of other Irish Dance schools to pick from, just not this one!
