I went there with great ,. I don't know what I was expecting. Maybe I was expecting too much. First of all, it was hard finding barking, and it took me a few times around the various blocks to find a spot. I had to walk a great distance to the market which I enjoyed actually. When I got there, it was so crowded, that you could hardly walk. There were few food vendors and few ethnic activities which were very cool. I wish they had more food choices, but I don't know where they would have fit them in. I enjoyed some of that food vendors that were there though.

This outdoor cross cultural festival was located in the small area between the parking garage and the max station. I applaud the concept behind this festival. It was very welcoming. Who ever did the marketing and advertising for this event did a great job because the event was packed, too packed. The RSVP for this event on their FB page was 4.7 thousand. I don't know if there were that many people but I just know that we could not walk in the sea of people. We appreciated the free parking garage but it was so narrow and compact that I swear that parking garage was designed for compact cars only. So I think the count of vendor booths was less than 20 and prob less than 10 for food. I overheard that vendors were running out of food. We saw asian food, middle eastern food, african food, great concept, they just needed 10x the number of food stalls. Other stands were selling their goods like handmade soaps, generic and whimsical gift items, essential oils nothing exciting. I think the only place we purchased stuff was the eastern european stand. We purchased a hungarian cookbook for a friend. The music was good! We enjoyed all the performances such as the African drumming, and the Mbrascatu band. All in all it is a great concept. If they continue this event they need a professional event planner, and larger venue....like 10x's the size than that of the little space it was in. I read many complaints on their FB page about the crowdedness of this fest. Most people, myself included only stayed 10 minutes and had a better time across the street at the flea market. Sadly I was hoping this fest was a lot more than what it was. I will say it did bring people from all walks of life together for an evening, which was the point behind this fest in the first place.

Very nice concept of utilizing the Beaverton Central area as a central stage for the cultural performance show. There were a lot of people, but not enough food vendors, so lines were very long for food. It was nice to check it out and hang out for a bit. Great place to bring your family and watch all the cultural performance on stage. This events happens twice this last year, perhaps it will be the same next year? Definitely gets crowded, but what a great way to get Beaverton locals together!

Great location right off the max. Very crowded but lots of vendors. More food options would be appreciated.

It was a last minute ask (thank you, dear child *eye roll*) that I was able to book at a preferred time in under a week, and the kids had fun, which is what mattered most! From start to finish, service was spot on: we were met by Coleton who walked us through the logistics & timing, as well as helped with some changes I requested due to attendance, and our server was Paige who made sure the boys never went without beverages. Pizzas came out quickly so the kids were able to eat & bowl, and everything was timed to perfection so they were able to sing to the Birthday Boy and enjoy cake before heading over for some Laser Tag & arcade time to end the festivities. It was also great to have a table reserved in the arcade area for belongings & whatnot, which also allowed some pitchers of beverages for the rest of the time. The space itself was immaculate and staff was buzzing around to keep tables turned over, bowling balls replaced to their rightful homes for future bowlers and the restrooms (at least the ladies!) were also clean (I know that can be a big deal for families, especially with Littles). All in all, I'd say this was money well spent, especially considering everything that is included in the package. For 7 total kids, I think they played 3-4 games of bowling, we did 2 laser tag games & their arcade time, didn't have to set up, break down or clean up party supplies/food, etc -- id do it again in a heartbeat!

It used to be the Swedish Evangelical Mission Covenant Church. There's some cool millwork, antique light fixtures, and large curved staircases, but overall this is on the tamer side for McMenamins properties. The venue had standing room and high-tops on the same level as the stage. Upstairs is theater style seating that was decently comfortable and had a counter spot to put your drink. There weren't any bad views, and the sound system was better than I expected. I think there are two bars, one on each floor, but the upstairs one was closed for the small event I attended. They serve drinks and small bites, not full meals. Parking is challenging nearby.

This high energy event attracts people from Portland and all over the country. Dancing, chilling, people watching - it's perfect for all of that. The festival takes place on the waterfront lawn in front of RiverPlace Marina with views of the Williamette River and bridges. There is not any shade so definitely come prepared with a hat and sunblock. This year the weather was perfect, low 70s and some days overcast, but other years it's been high 90s with blazing sun and lots of sunburned people. There are four stages, two showcase the more well known bands. You can purchase seats or bring your own chair and blanket and sit in the lawn, which is what we do. But get there early or be prepared to squeeze into a spot. Those lucky enough to own or have a friend with a boat, dock in the Marina adding to the ambiance. Even kayaks and paddle boarders flock to this area to enjoy the music. The smell of weed permeates; smoking pot is common, even before it was legal, so just be aware if the smell turns you off. It's everywhere, not limited to specific seating areas. There is an area dedicated to local venders selling music memorabilia, jewelry, clothing (including tie-dye and embroidery), artwork, crafts and local services. Also food carts with varied cuisines, definitely something for everyone. Prices range from $8-15. You can also buy beer, wine and cider. Water stations are throughout and there are lots of portable bathrooms underneath the Hawthorne Bridge. The Festival culminates on July 4th with a phenomenal fireworks display on the river. They shoot them from a barge situated right in front of the Hawthorne Bridge and the fireworks reflect on the water. It's spectacular! Trucks and cars often stop on the various freeways overlooking the river and families gather on the lawns of the surrounding park, esplanade and residential area to picnic and watch the display. The Blues Festival used to be free with a donation of canned goods but now they charge a fee. You can purchase single day tickets or passes for the entire festival. Early bird prices are the way to go. Check their website for details.

One thing I didn't like was that there were only one area where the Sanican Restrooms were set up. So you had to walk to the center of the grounds and under the bridge. It got really dark at 5 pm when the lights were not turned on yet. Some of the grassy area had bird poop around, so you really have to sanitize your shoes and blanket afterwards.
